The Remarkable CM Community Thread

Thanks for the comp @Scott1baird

I'm not taking part this time, but I'm currently preparing another comp of my own. Since the last one was so well liked and easy as hell, I'll make the next one a little harder to solve.

Should I run mine concurrently or wait for Scott's one to end?

@Scott1baird thank you for the comp.

Is it 3 guesses for everyone? I will start with 567000 xp ;)

Just kidding mate. Thanks for blessing us with a comp.

@ternur I know it may get a little confusing in the thread so probably best to leave until Scotts has finished i guess .......BUT....... 2 comps at once!?!

I say 2 at once would be even more epic - start the Remarkable Comps tally for 2020 on the road to breaking previous records!

Alright, that's one for concurrent comp. I don't want to take anything away from @Scott1baird so if he agrees, I'll run at the same time. If not, I'll wait for his to finish.

Or do we have any naysayers on the topic? I hope not, it's not that kind of a thread. :)

up to you as there have been many times when there were 2 comps running
cheers

FYI: This comp runs at the same time as @Scott1baird's comp.

I've had some decent luck in the last few weeks, so another comp is in order. This will test your knowledge of pop trivia (again). :p

For 25 € , you need to wade through this:

A short prologue:

I was thinking about this series, film and universe while I had my first damn fine cup of a hot beverage this morning. It's a unique world and the creator is my favourite artist of all time (film, photography, music ... he's a genius).

Like all things in life, the fictional universe in this story has a dark and light side. But like lightness, darkness stems from a reflection of the world.

A sort of a segue:

"How's Annie?" is a scene that could be interpreted as the escape of the main character's doppelgänger from another realm. This character's path to overcome his doppelgänger starts over 25 years later when he's watching a film on television and hears the name of his boss spoken.

The film that the main character is watching is actually a favourite of the director of this wonderfully bizarre series.

You need to answer this:

There's another film by this director which includes multiple references to the same film the main character is watching on television.

Name that film.

1. By entering this competion you agree to be bound by the following terms:
1.1. This competion is for Casinomeister members in category "Full Member" or above or for members who have posted 50 times or more since the registeration of their account.
1.2. The prize for the correct answer in the main competition above is 25 €. Payment is made by Neteller (Skrill or Paypal are other options, but may take a little longer).
1.3. The answer in the main competition may be subject to interpretation. Awarding of prize is at the sole discretion me, and any decisions taken by me in this regard are final.
1.4. The winning member is encouraged to use the prize to make a deposit to their favourite casino account. If the winning member is able to double the prize amount, they should pass the prize on via a competition of their own.
1.5. The winning member is also encouraged to post in this thread how they fared with the deposit made under term 1.4.
2. The rest of the terms are a smokescreen and have nothing else to do with the competition than to act as a placeholder for clues of the "hidden message" -prize as determined in term 3.
3. Terms 5 & 6 include clues to find a band and a song. The first member to solve this wins a additional prize of 25 €. The participating member can win this prize in addition to the prize awarded in the main competition.
4. For the "hidden message" -prize, please post in the thread the name of the band and song to claim this prize.
5. What is the common denominator in (a) no-win scenario and (b) the antagonist in "The Usual Suspects" (whose profession is the same as mine). They key word found is the founder of the band who performs the song in section 6.
6. Some hate it, some love it. But this member of the Caricaceae family will most likely put a smile in your face.

Couldn't you just have said your favourite colour socks or something
goatie's have gained sentience, upped and walked away so he's mostly asking out of nostalgia :P

Mulholland Drive

Spot on. Seems this was too easy then, PM me your payment details.

FYI:

The fictional universe is of course that of Twin Peaks. "Damn fine cup" is a well known reference to Special Agent Dale Cooper's love of coffee (something I wholeheartedly can relate to). The creator of Twin Peaks is David Lynch ("But like lightness, darkness stems from a reflection of the world" is a direct quote by him.)

The "How's Annie?" -scene ends season two of Twin Peaks. Twin Peaks: The Return (episode 15) is the key to Dale Cooper's awakening as he reacts to hearing Gordon Cole's name (his boss) on TV, and sticks a fork into an electrical socket. The film he is watching is Sunset Boulevard. Sunset Blvd. (1950) is one David Lynch's favourite films and is referenced more than once in Mulholland Dr. (2001) -- Which is the greatest film of all time IMHO.

But what troubles me a bit that it seems nobody read the terms of the comp? I mean this is a gambling community after all. It PAYS to read the terms.
Just void the winnings, or ask GoldenGhoul for a SoW
