So here is the conclusion I have come to. When I was accepting bonuses initially, I was winning (not much but always enough to deposit at another casino and then winning a wee bit more). Then, after being disappointed with some bonus rules at various casinos I have stopped taking bonuses along with any free spins associated unless it was at places like Betat. For the last couple of months I have just made straight deposits with no bonus. I am totally busted. My gambling account (not bank account) is nil. So, I am starting to lean towards taking the bonuses at these casinos that do not tie in your real money. As a small time gambler, I think this is the only way to go. I will need to start saving again however before I start to play again.

Good luck to you guys -- will not be able to play for a while.

I have won all my winnings from bonuses, except for the last one. I am now banned from bonuses at the Casino that I won from, because I won. LoL. So now I have to wait until my deposits reach a certain percentage before I can get any bonuses again. :(

Good for you Bebo! Not been as lucky so sometimes it is best just to lay off. I don't mind losing a few bucks here and there but when it is day after day it is time to call it quits. Hope your good luck streak continues. Sometimes I think you are either lucky or you are not.

    losing streaks can be devastating
they can change the way you bet , sitting on a machine too long waiting for the hit it " owes you " , not upping the bet when a machine feels hot etc.

try cutting your deposits in half for a while , banking the rest for the week after and pretending you lost it
after a few weeks of this your bank roll is looking good , you have reserve funds and it doesnt feel like u " must win " cause its your last coin .

also try 1 lining , put in a 10 and play 1 line for 5c or 10c for a while
it gives the gambling bug a fix , risking little and can get a whopping surprise if you nail a 5 liner.

as for bonuses i take them randomly , i have at times taken a 20% bonus and ignored a 50% or 100% (yes im crazy )

i do take them if im playing for entertainment and accept the fact i might not clear it if i get a good hit , nothing worse that feeling like a loser after playing for 6 hours and not clearing a bonus , so you have to tell yourself the reason why your taking the bonus .. good value ie 100% with no restrictions to cashouts , or 100% with 60x wr because you want to get maybe an extra hour or 2 playtime .

and the final thing i guess is not to chase all your losses in 1 hit , set yourself a collect amount .. im putting in 20 and im going to be stoked with 50.. its amazing what a single collect can do !

I was doing horrible, after winning a few times back in May, I expected it and that is not the way to think. I lost so much money over the summer. Close to 4k, may not be a lot for some but it was for me. I closed my accounts and then just before VPL crashed , I reopened. When they were back up and running thats when I struck gold. But the same , even when I get the craving, I just come out here :)

For me it depends on the bonus. If the bonus is activated only if your deposit is spent, like ist i.e. on LeoVegas i always take it. You have nothing to lose. If you win with your own money you can withdraw everytime, if not you get some playtime with bonus-money. And you just need to wager the bonus amount.
If deposit+bonus have to be wagered from the start, like its usual in most casinos, i nearly never take it.

    Hey barbara,

sorry to read about your bad results lately.

Some bonuses are very fair indeed and increase playtime considerably if you are on a bad streak without tying your funds into wagering requirements.

    - Betat/SlottyVegas bonus-structure where you can withdraw your winnings as you wish as long as you haven't played with bonus funds (and voiding the initial bonus when you withdraw). You can still hit big with your bonus after your cash funds depleted and have the prospect to withdraw after WR are met.
    - Casumo is also quite nice. You balance is split into cash and bonus-funds and all your wagers are made partly from both in the same ratio your bonus percentage was. Your winnings will be split in this ratio too. For instance if you claim a 50% bonus for a deposit of $100 and get a bonus of $50 and you would usually play $1 bets you can just increase your bets to $1.5 with the same effect. If you win $15 in one spin, $10 of it will be credited to your cash balance and $5 to your bonus balance. If you increase your total balance to $300, $200 will be cash and $100 bonus and you can withdraw $200 or continue playing trying to meet WR. A little bit worse than Betat/SlottyVegas but still very sensible.

Try to check for flexible bonus-structures that don't bind your cash-balance into WR. You'll have the best of both worlds.
    Good luck!

Thanks Hedgehog. I have played at Betat/Slotty Vegas. Did OK at Betat because of their bonus structure. Not so good at Slotty Vegas. I have never tried Casumo. I might give it a try. Do you know of any other casinos that have good bonuses that do not tie up all your money? I won a nice chunk at Videoslots but could not cash out even though I wouldn't have even been close to dipping into the bonus funds. Was unable to fulfill WR so lost the $168 that I had won after about 3 spins.

There are many that don't tie your cash funds however most of them only count bonus-wagers for WR. So placing wagers on cash will not affect your WR.

Some of the accredited casinos have this, like:
Casinoheroes, LeoVegas, MrGreen, Slotsmillion, Vera & John

Pretty much the same bonuses on slots million... I like the "freeroll" option if you bust your deposit. Go big or go home :)
