Whilst whole world overreacts to this virus, I think it's incredibly naive to be using casinos or keeping money in them right now.

I work within the sports betting industry and this is having a huge impact on turnover with most sport being stopped. Many of these smaller firms will collapse imo.

Anyone with 3 figures in a casino needs to withdraw it asap if it' not any of the big UK firms. I would personally avoid depositing at smaller sites as if you hit big the chances of being paid must be slim.

I'd think, if anything, the only issue might be that some finance staff end up out for a week or 2 that get sick but I'm sure casinos are gonna make quite a fair few dollar coming weeks

Sports Betting is casinos' bread & butter right, so casinos will take a hit for sure, running on bare minimum operating crews.

Might mean a small spike in Slots participation, but maybe not that much overall. Given how many are fretting as to when (if) they can even go back to work. Meaning gambling's on the back-burner for the foreseeable....

Would still opt to play at regulated UK casinos in terms of funds protection however when all's said and done

It would depend on what proportion of their business is sports betting and what proportion is casino.
If sport only account for a small amount of a particular site's income, then there shouldn't be a problem.
Plus a lot of casinos, don't even have sports betting

Sports betting section of larger websites will drop right off, however I feel the other sections, slots, tables, lotto, scratchies, bingo, keno etc etc will increase, thus more than compensating for this temporary 'glitch'

I do think you have a point on the small amount of smaller operators who primarily focus on sports however and only offer a small handful of the alternatives I mention.

As for leaving monies in an acocunt, When my luck finally turns for the better, I cannot hit the 'cash out' button fast enough, leaving only the tiniest of amounts for some good old DoA minimum bet action the following day :p

Point is no one will have income to gamble. Yes if we all supported by the government we can gamble and pass time but only so much funds exist to help and gambling on slots is not a necessity is it(great time pass i know).

Wonder how this will affect affordability checks then lol?

Strictly speaking those caught in this situation will see wages become benefits

Exactly. How are people going to gamble when they don't know their employment status from one week to the next

My company released this statement yeste

sports only accounts for 45% of the whole years turnover. And bare in mind this lock down will be 3-6 months not the total year.
The other 55% in poker, casino, bingo IMO will increase. You’ll get bored people at home with nothing better to do.
plus we have £260m cash in the bank.

bookies always come out the other side of anything, ok. In general.

Your logic Is right but bookies boomed during the 2008 crisis? Why? Cos desperate people gamble.
It’s not a morale world in gambling I’m afraid!

I think that many folk who had earmarked money for things they can no longer do will be quite happy to spend some of it on slots while having a few drinks at home. I really do think it will be a boon time for many casinos.
I do wonder if some bookies use the lack of sports betting income to reduce their rtp on slots despite slots never being as busy before

With no live events, sports bets are dropping massively. Casino games see a massive upleft. From a business point of view, I'm pretty happy with the lock downs. But thats the only plus side to be fair!

I'm sure loads of the folks who had their Vegas trips shitcanned are spending that money online as we speak. LOL.

Gamblers are going to gamble - and they'll find a way to do it.
I disagree..
But if you are so sure, how about we make a little bet to....oh nevermind, you might be right.

Why would anyone keep their funds in a casino? It should be - deposit/play/ withdraw. If you're keeping them in your casino casino account, please read the terms and conditions - most casinos will state that they aren't a bank :p

Hold on, I didn't realise there was a third option after deposit/play! I always thought it was deposit/play/deposit/play, etc etc !!

True, but problem is not because no sports are on, your right more will turn to slots. But problem is no ones job is safe. I do not know if I'm working this week or next or next month, so if I go lose £50 I could regret it as that 50 pays for food to last for a week.

It's the unknown that is the problem, unless government guarantee a income for us all we will not know if we are safe to freely gamble.

They need to freeze council tax, loans/credit cards and other bills before people can not stress so much about the month to month finances.

But you play Bonanza so the question is;

How do you have any money to play? ;-)

Ok I fully understand the uncertainty you are in. And unfortunately that will happen to a lot of people. And if you like to place a bet on occasion but not sure if you can afford it. You shouldnt bet :)

Casinos always keep the balances on players account seperate. (at least they are suppose too, and the majority like us, do). So when they go bankrupt, at least the players debt part can be paid.

Holding your balance at a casino or depositing at a casino is certainly fine, especially at the regulated casinos and casinos in the accreditated section.

And yes the whole situation is unknown. And local and european funds will be released to help the individuals in society, especially small/medium business owners. But those bodies first need to get a grip on the situation before isseing solutions.

Italy already told their citizens they dont need to pay morgage, small/medium business owners don't need to pay taxes, etc. These measures take time.

So bottom line: Story went from: Not leave the money in casinos to:
I'm worried!

Am I right? :)

No long term stress mate, you get there!

Also begs the question if casinos will allow players to gamble when most countries' workforce is in limbo and probably gambling beyond their essential needs.

I'm sure most will be more than happy to not delve too much into how players acquired those funds

Tons of uk players will be living off statutory sick pay, thats £94 a week....
will casinos be stopping them playing as clearly they won’t be able to even afford a £20 deposit..
Be interesting, they should be stopping them as a RG concern especially in light of the old bug going around...

My job depends on live sports, plus its new role so ill no doubt be on the sick pay. Luckily its usa racing and thats still on for now.

Already in process contact loans and cards i owe to freeze payments. Hopefully ill still have 20 to burn on bonanza as other than talk to gf or walk the dog fuck all else to do.

JAN chuck us 100% deposit bonus
