... that's why he is the PAB guy.

Yeah, but some folks might read that as Pretty Angry Bugger or something even less complementary :)

BBF not BOF :D

Anyway, I mentioned that I was made a aware of something that was a deal-killer - that it had something to do with marketing. Here's the scoop on that. It was brought to my attention that this casino had an improperly appropriated database of affiliate names and email addresses, and that this database was used to market Fasttrack affiliates - the marketing arm of this casino. This database was taken from another casino group, and there is a cyber-paper trail that can be confirmed that what happened actually happened. There is no doubt on that.

At the moment, this is being dealt with lawyers and such - when I have more info that I feel comfortable in sharing I'll let you know.

As for why it's a deal killer: this reflects directly on the business ethics of the casino operation. Steal a database and you are going to be a target of litigation and more than likely - the police. At the moment it is unclear how deep it goes - was this done by misguided employees, or is it connected to the ownership? This would make a difference on how this casino is listed in the near or far future at Casinomeister.

Hmmm... well that might explain why I a got a "cold call" e-mail from them a couple of days ago inviting me to sign-up for their affiliate program, when I've already been working with them for nearly a year!
So if they did get hold of a mailing list "illegally" and fail to cross check who they already had registered - that could be the reason.
They said it was a mistake by a new affiliate manager - and I can confirm a new AM did appear sometime in November.
It's a great shame if someone has made a stupid mistake there, because otherwise I still think they are a pretty decent operator.

Curiosity is natural, it's what makes us human and increase our understanding of things. On the other hand, if I wander down the street and find the Police have sealed it off and turn me back without explanation, that's OK. There could be a terrorist incident, a bomb scare, a building further down showing signs it's going to collapse or a gas leak. Whichever it is, the decision to stop me going down the street was for my safety. I'm glad they were looking out for me.

Wow really? No wonder the free world is rapidly becoming a police state.
Must...not...question...authority

This is quite different though and I don't think Brian has anything to prove to anyone here frankly but then again I don't blame people for wanting to know.

Edit.

Posted before reading Brian's response but I'll leave as is.
