Self Exclusion - Deposits - Views?

Ok, just had a reply from EM following on from my last e-mail. It seems they are willing to refund deposits now, which I seriously was not expecting! As such, I will honour one of my previous posts whereby I will donate part of the refund (when received) as a comp prize for members here since I would not have asked for a refund of deposits if it wasn't for people on this site. Thank you!

The end of their e-mail (first bit was listing deposits while SE) is as follows:

For the final 2 refunds please allow a few day for the funds to reach you. Also, kindly keep in mind that if you are looking to create any new accounts you will be under the updated T&C. We recommend that you review these as the refund procedure has changed.

So that's good for you but I bet you're a tiny minority to be bet-voided.

As for the 'updated T&C' if they are still maintaining they can keep deposits then the UKGC needs to be informed of it.

When will EM stop messing about and act like a responsible company and not let SE players deposit? Its not rocket science to run a check of an email address, a depositing card, an address or a mobile phone number against a database of player information, and if theres a match with any of these then lock the account and prevent a deposit. If the locking of the account is incorrect, the player can then contact the site to open the account after verification. Easy and straightforward, but seemingly too complex for EM.

I thought the ask gambler site was decent but in hindsight they list anyone on there and much of the time incorrect info. I dont trust any casinos they list now. Shame as its decent site the way its laid out. But join some of the "Unknowns" they list at your own risk. God knows why I ever stray from the accredited section here!!!

I think they are ok, But did not know they dished out approval stamps :what: & why would they be dishing out to this outfit?

But your right its hard to trust there casino's now

It should be raised with the UKGC, I have done so for LCI self exclusion policy. The trouble is that the UKGC seems to have sympathy for the idea that confiscating funds might act as a deterrent to breaching the self exclusion. This was made clear in their last consultation where they proposed confiscating winnings the norm but neglected to ask a specific question on that and so could not implement it without risk of legal challenge. The rationale and evidence for confiscation was incredibly weak and came from the Responible Gambling Trust based on an Ontario Casino paper.

This is the current UKGC view:

Can I get my money back if I gamble after I have self-excluded?

We are not able to help you to get back any money lost during a breach of a self-exclusion agreement.
The success of self-exclusion relies to a very large degree on the extent to which a problem gambler is committed to managing his or her behaviour. There would be a perverse incentive to gamble if those successfully breaching a self-exclusion agreement could expect to be refunded stakes they have lost.

This principle of the primary responsibility lying with the gambler, and not the operator, has been tested in successive court cases.

New to this site I self exluded from two sites
Blacktype was one they closed me down and cancelled my winnings and refunded my deposits under UKGC REGULATIONS. However karamba have not they are stating that because I never registered on their Network they didn't know I was self exluded. Still trying to fight my case . Yet 10 mins later to test if my details were registered as SE on their platform i opened an casino account under aspire global so they are very poor at checks or flagging up information. Should I keep trying to get my deposit back??

Agree with Dunover, this is absolute bollocks. Because of the EM set-up, as soon as you SE'd at one site covered by the license, you NEVER had a chance of winning at any other site under the same license, therefore they either repay your deposits or they are committing fraud. The terms they are quoting are completely illegal IMO, they translate as if you dare to deposit at any site of ours we take your money and theres nothing you can do so FU. I would contact eCogra and raise a complaint because I know for a fact that other players in the same boat have been repayed after making deposits at sites after self excluding from one site on the license.

What about self exluding under two different licenses blacktype paid me my deposits and took my winnings. As they operate under fsb platform. Were karamba operate under aspire global and said we possibly couldnt of known you were SE on our network
