I a new to these novomatic slots.
Is it safe to say they are all extremely high variance en katana is one of the highest variance slots of all?

Anyone can give me some advice on how to play them? I normally bet around 1$ a spin on other platforms but because of the variance I don't dare to bet more than 0,40$ a spin.

best advice gokkie is to move around, dont play same machine for to long if its dead , ive made three deposits this week hit one feature paid poorly , but ive had some good sessions there , i find a hundred spins is good mark for moving try them all theres always one machine thats a little warmer katana & lord of the ocean are my worst machines by far , i just cannot hit on them

Yeah they are very high variance Gokkie.
Like said before,if a machine is cold jump to another one as sometimes you play a few machines that are cold and the next one gives you a bonus/freespin session twice or three times in 50 spins.

I always start with €0.50-€0.80 bets and when going well I up to about €2.00 spins.
But the nice part of Novomatic slots is,they can easily pay 1000-1500x bet on a €0.40-€0.50 spins which is offcourse great.

I play these slot for years now,first in German Spielhallen and now since a good while online.
So I am kind of a veteran when it comes to these machines.

Be carefull with that one,I only play it when having a good bankroll.

I was dissapointed about the last two as it is so difficult to hit the free spins.

I am not sure about this but I think each single Novoslot pays a bonusround every €500.00 spent on that machine on average.
So if you pick a machine where people played on before without hitting a bonusround and let say spent €400.00 on spins you should technically get them fairly soon.
But if you pick a machine that just paid a bonus you might spin a long time before seeing them again.
I heard this from a guy who worked for Novoline,the manufacturer for Novomatic slots but I don't know if this only goes for the land based slots or also for the online versions.


That said this is just an average just like MG and Netent slots have these average spins before triggering a bonus.

Tx for the advice. I am trying out all slots in fun mode at the moment at quasargaming. I started with 100€, hitting many bonus rounds on Lucky lady's charm, the alchemist and mermaid's pearl. no matter what I tried I couldn't lose the 100 Wasn't up much either but at least was having some fun and playing time.

after the good "reviews" / your quite dedicated work i read about in this thread, i will definitely give your casino a try as soon as my last transfer hits my neteller.

As a german long-time gambler i am very familiar with the sky-high variance and the possible "multi-retrigger-freespin-rounds", which are both so characteristic for novomatics games. This characteristics, combined with the way lower rtp% those slots offer in our landbased casinos (spielotheken), makes playing them an often expensive hobby... So it would be really cool, to maybe have found a reputable online-casino to play those very fun games!

Regarding your future promotions i would like to offer my current thoughts on the current casinobonus-landscape:

1. I more and more come to the conclusion, that instantly credited match-bonuses are really not worth it for me as a slot player. They mostly make me lose my deposits in about the same time, but at a higher bet per spin, as deposits without bonus. (i know, my fault)

2. Having the bonus credited after losing my deposit (your current system, if i understand it correctly) OR being able to withdraw my winnings anytime, as long as all bets were made with the real-money part of my balance (like bet-at.eu bonuses work at the moment) are both way more interesting systems for me...

3. Why does no casino (i know of) go a completely different route and ends all those "xxx% deposit match holding the players money hostage (d+b)*xx WR"-crap? (as mentioned under 2. you and bet-at.eu start going the right direction)

4. A real loyalty-program could be the best solution to get long-term customers! "Simply" paying the player cold, hard cash at the end of every month... Cashback based on two things: the total wagering-amount your customer has made that month + vip-levels, which are calculated on the customers deposited money over a period of several month...

5. Not having a loyal customer fall down several vip-levels too fast, because he has a month or two with very low / without deposits. There simply are times, where the normal "gambling-allocation" has to be spend on more important things. And to "punish" a loyal customer in those times by instantly downgrading his vip-level OR WORSE make him deposit the money needed otherwise only to keep his vip-level, are both totally wrong in my eyes!


Maybe these points are a little help for you in coming up with THE groundbreaking idea regarding your promotions ;-) If not, i at least killed some time rambling on an internet-forum
