Is there a way to forgo - or minimize the CM watermark for uploaded images?
I put up a meme which blocked out the copy but it reminded me of a bit back where there was a cm meme contest, and the cm watermark obsures a fair bit of the content.
    Cheers.

I need to look at the permissions for the plugin. Some higher level user groups don't see the watermark - but google does. Protects screenshots etc from being scraped by lazy webmasters.

what about a (semi) transparent watermark perhaps, akin to tv shows that have their logo on screen - it shows the network but doesnt obscure the content behind.

my, my bad I suppose it is - just smaller fonts dont seem to register through well. :)
The usergroup permissions - looking through winner screenshots, I don't see a pattern as to whom has those permissions to forgo watermarks.

The new permissions haven't been published yet. You are probably looking at the vBulletin permissions (old). This is something that I am currently working on. :D

Or why not just make the watermark smaller?

No need really for it to be transparent. just a bit of css to make it smaller or you could always just resize the watermark image and point the css or html towards the new resized watermark image :)
