My fellow CMers
this will be my final post and I thought making it in this thread would be the best fitting place.
For almost 6 years, CM has been among the first three sites I would open every time after starting up my laptop. It has become a larger part of my life than ever thought or intended. So, closing the door is hurting, to be honest. After all, CM is this vibrant community where we gamblers can simply be ... well ... gamblers.
With that said, I would like to profoundly thank
@Casinomeister and his team for the opportunity to be part of this community. I thoroughly enjoyed being among fellow gamblers to share the good, the bad and the ugly of all things, not just gambling.
However, it wouldn't be Harry if I wouldn't have some closing arguments, so bear with me for a while, this is in no particular order:
@mack341 : This is for you, maybe you will rethink your steadfast antifa/BLM argument. You can always access the leaked documents (written by Mr T’s people) and read them in full, but this article sums them up nicely (a long read but worth your time):
@slotplayer : I only refer to your last mentions of Mr T of what he has achieved for the people of colour to demonstrate to you how you are still falling for his con time and again. Will do only one example as otherwise, it would take this post past a few pages’ length. You touted the First Step Act. You do know that the basis for that bill was introduced in 2015 and it never passed due to opposition in the GOP. Mr T was never for the law until some celebrities got involved and convinced him that it will be helpful for his popularity. Ever the opportunist, he jumped on it and signed it into law.
FYI, it only affects less than 10% of people in prison, so in reality, not a big achievement. In fact, all call it a "very modest" improvement. Here's a good read for it:
.
One more contentious point that was discussed in this thread. Please make the effort to read how taxes will start rising in 2021 for people making $100K or less per year with those making less than $30K/year impacted most. This was specifically written by the GOP and Mr T’s people to come into effect after the 2020 election. So, yet another CON FROM THE DON.
Mr T and protests: Quite a few here have railed against the recent protests. I urge you again to give up your social security, pension, paid medical leave, healthcare and so much more because those were all achieved via protests, in many cases a lot more violent than those in the recent past, and ....wait for it.... which were organized by the "damn libruls". I bet you will not be wanting to give those up. Hence, it would be nice of you to once acknowledge that the left political spectrum is not the evil you are trying to portray. After all, you take the achievements for granted.
Mr T and election: Well, today is the day. I have not seen any president or presidential campaign filing so many lawsuits to make it harder for people to vote, and that during a pandemic. And as Mr is perfect at projecting, his tweets of cheating etc tell you what he will be trying to do. The US has always voted the way it does today and never or very, very rarely had a big problem until of course the braggard from New York realized he is most probably on the losing end. Suddenly, all is bad. Think about that.
I posted one of his tweets a few pages back where he rails about counting votes after today. He did that because traditionally, GOP voters vote in person and those results are counted on election night. So obviously his thinking is that if he's ahead, then it should all stop. Now, it will be interesting to see how quickly he will change his mind about counting votes when he is actually behind after today. Suddenly, counting all votes will be sooooo important.
So why did I write so much about Mr T? The answer is simple. Whatever the US president and the US are doing has global ramifications. Whether we like it or not, but much of our life can be severely impacted by what the US is doing. And that is one reason (maybe the only one) why I would welcome another 4 years of Mr T. He will achieve then what he always wanted, build a wall around the US, physical and virtual, and isolate/alienate the US from the rest of the world (except other mostly dictator-led countries) and “return to the 1950s” (the latter is his wish but that won’t happen). Which in my view, will be a good thing for most of the world.
Covid-19: I can only urge everyone again to read the history of the 1918 pandemic. What is happening now is a 100% mirror, yet as usual in the past, people rarely learn from history. I would also like to point out that once the 1918 pandemic was under control (without vaccine I might add), we had the start of what was called the “Golden Era”. So think about that.
US election prediction: Biden wins (as I already predicted during the Democrat primaries), Senate goes to Democrats by a thin margin. (Although the best drama would come from a Mr T win and the Senate going to Dems, epic drama for 4 years).
In 2016, appr 100 million people did not vote. I guess that the number this year will be close to 50 million only. Two reasons why many people did not vote in 2016 – they did not like Hillary or thought Hillary had it in the bag. Mr T’s complete base voted back then, and he has not extended it substantially since. In contrast, those who stayed home because of Hillary, will not do so this time. I venture to say that the number of those motivated to coming out to vote now is much larger than what Mr T has gained in supporters in the last 4 years.
Well, would have a lot more to say and post but the time has come to say goodbye, I wish you all the best in whatever endeavours you are embarking. Most of you know where you can find me if you want to stay in touch.
Stay well and Farewell,
Harry
P.S. You can all relax now, everyone is safe from the “evil” eyeroll emojis.
