Just goes to show the difference in class.

He just doesn't have any positive to say about his 4 years. Just ask his supporters about what he has achieved during his first term :p So his only move is to attack.
I don't care which way he leaves the office...voting or virus. That facist is a danger to the general public. Radicalizing the far-right etc.

Doesnt this just sum up the complete lack of decency for this whole administration? They knew that people around them had tested positive but they flaunt all the rules, guidelines, advice just so they can sit in an audience and watch Trump behave like the spoilt brat that he is.
Poetic justice that he is in hospital now, he has caused the deaths of over 100,000 Americans because of a selfish desire for a second term in power.
Lets hope his administration will now Covid-19 seriously and finally try to protect their citizens.

Let's say Trump recovers from Covid. You think he'd admit that yeah scientists were right and we actually shouldn't open the whole country up right away? He only cares about his re-election 'cause that keeps him out of jail.
He never admits that he was wrong and he always tries to show strength. There's zero chance that he'll do anything differently. I'm pretty sure he'd say something like: "see I was right! it's just like a flu! now let's open this country so we can get back to business!" He needs the economy to do well even for just short period...until he gets re-elected.
But if he does get re-elected there's a decent chance that democrats take the senate and just remove him anyway.

The dumbest leader on Earth.

He's absolutely correct, this is the swedish logic, I hope he's not just saying it to get re-elected. Regardless of Trump's view on lockdowns it seems each state can decide it's own policy, biden wants everyone to wear masks everywhere outdoors for three months - now that is dumb

60,000 die from the flu in the US iirc and there is a vaccine, so if the coronavirus vaccine is as effective as the flu one, there will still be deaths and cases, the daily death rate in the UK atm is about 1 person in a million.

Sweden has 14th highest death rate from Covid, UK 12th highest, US 10th highest. Brazil 5th highest. Sweden's tactic obviously wasn't a good one and you three have the dumbest leaders there are. Keep ignoring science and pay the price of it.
Wearing masks protects from Covid and from flu. But you can keep trusting HCQ that you've been advocating here many many times. Even Trump didn't take it when he got the virus.

Maybe on doctor's advice Trump needed something stronger, if I was in his position I would give the experimental antibody treatment a go too.

I think you like to ignore the science for political reasons and lapping up your beloved msm headlines, brought to you by the influence of big govt and big pharma.

Sweden has stated it didn't do a good enough job regarding care home residents, they apparently have very large ones, so obviously infections can spread; look at their current death rate, better than the uk/france and they will not have the extra deaths from untreated illnesses [cancer and other things] down the line, as they did not lockdown their health system as we did in the uk; so to do a proper comparison, you have to factor these things in [the collateral damage]

Since when is over 200,000 deaths so far this year far less lethal than up to 100,000 deaths in a year from flu? Mr Smartest President in the world ever I think you need to go back to maths class.
Seen a poll today where Biden is 19 points ahead, and again I hope this bears true so that Trump is consigned to history ( and a very long jail sentence).

If you can leave the hospital 3 days after been admitted you don't need the strong (experimental on top) cocktail. They're for patients that are on the verge of collapsing and probably have been sick and getting worse for 10 or more days. He basically got the kitchen sink thrown at him.

If you catch a mild case try to ask your doctor for some Remdesivir and Dexamethasone. See how that works.

mack, I had to restrain myself from posting the biggest eyeroll emoji ever.

One single number will leave no doubt what COVID-19 is doing in 2020. The excess death rate. These are all deaths, no matter what reason. The trend is usually more or less a flat line when compared to prior years. Now look at these two charts, I included your beloved Sweden.

Before you start, yes, there might have been a percentage of people who died because they could not be treated for other diseases. But, we also have lower death rates due to lower traffic, pubs closed etc. We could now start counting beans, but let's just say the two cancel each other out.

FYI, the numbers from 2015-2019, also include the death of the usual seasonal influenza.

You are going to argue now that numbers have come down. Of course, because SCIENCE, not some charlatanry or NY snake oil salesman AKA the individual pretending to be presidenting for the last 3.5 years, is usually pretty good at learning to adapt treatments. After all, there were and still are millions of patients to find out what works better.

Last but not least, since you think HCQ is the miracle cure, why was your dear Mr T not treated with it???? Just why, he would have been out of the hospital on Saturday, not Monday. Maybe because it doesn't help much.

True, but still gonna win in the elections ;)

In some way, I truly hope Mr T wins the election.

It will be akin to the last years of Napoleon, Caesar, Hitler etc. Once over, the US will be on its own and its currently dominant role on the world stage heavily diminished. Who knows, the USD might finally cease to be the world's reserve currency. The US would be bankrupt within a single day as the Fed won't be able to endlessly print money as they have been doing for some 70 years. Might not be instant, but give it another decade. The seeds for such developments have been planted already in the course of the last 3.5 years.

I think there is not a single country (except maybe Palau and Monaco) that has not been hit by unilateral sanctions or tariffs. And the republicans proclaim to be for free trade.

You could see how alone the US was at one of the latest UN security meetings. Only the Dominican Republic voted with the US. WTG USA!

Pretty sure he will - the alternative is Biden for Christs sake,: it's like trading a turd for a jar of piss.

Better to get it over with and done and dusted.

The figures in the HCQ chart I posted show it is not a miracle cure but helps nonetheless by significant percentages, the antibody treatment may have a 75% success chance [no one publicly knows but the doctors will have had an idea ] so given the option I would take that over HCQ.

There is no obsession in my mind with HCQ due to trump mentioning it, but that seems to be the case with the msm and anti trumpers, and I am just as in favour of vitamin D being given to the public, as that has also been proven to help.

I think you'll find plenty of professionally trained medical doctors and professors believe that HCQ can help too, help being the operative word, professor harvey risch of YALE being just one.

Not sure what to make of the graphs and how they relate to my post above? The largest eye roll was mentioned but are you saying the uk has done better than sweden, as obviously I'm in the uk so that is my focus; the US is huge geographically with areas of different climate, and someone I watched the other day was saying it ought to be compared with europe as a whole, in which case the deaths/cases are similar?

I don't totally disagree with the abuse of power aspect, sanctions and bullying etc...but do you really think if the democrats win the presidency, then this path of direction would change dramatically or just be tempered? [ I read somewhere that the digitalisation of money globally will give sanctions more bite ]

The five eyes countries seem to have decided china is no longer a friendly nation to them, I highly doubt it's purely because trump has convinced them to go this way. Even the press who despise trump have started publishing articles critical of china.

Europe's population: 741milj.
US's population: 328milj.

Europe's Covid cases: 5,4milj.
US's Covid cases: 7.7milj.

Europe's Covid deaths: 225k
US's Covid deaths: 215k

So US has about 3 times the Covid cases we have in Europe and 2 times amount of deaths.

If you factor in the BAME population, number of large cities and health problems like heart disease and obesity, plus elderly people on top, plus the US health system meaning many people don't have the same sort of access as we do in europe [financially too expensive for many in the US] none of which are trump's fault and existed pre 2016, does this go anyway to explaining why the US figures aren't great compared to the best countries in europe?

If you compared republican states to democrat ones which have performed the best? [ I genuinely don't know but suspect the factors above play a part ]

Not sure many consider the US to be still a "friendly nation to them".

US power relies on three things:

- military might
- USD as reserve currency (this goes back to WWII as most of the world's gold ended up in the US as they were selling weapons like candy. It was then decided to keep the gold in the US and set the USD as the reserve currency. Thus the US is the only country in the world that can print money without limits).
- Global banking system AKA SWIFT (most international transaction are handled via SWIFT and thus pass through the US, giving them control and thus the means to impose sanction at will)

The first, that will stay for some time.
The second is vital for the US to actually not go bankrupt within a day. I recommend to you to read up how the US is financing itself. China set up the Petro-Yuan already, not heavily used yet but it is a start.... open the dam and all. You know what I mean
The third is vital for the US to keep control over the world. Control the money and you control what's happening. The EU has started setting up their own system, you might have heard of SEPA. Again, break the dam and all. Let a few other countries outside of the EU join SEPA and SWIFT will start being in trouble.

Now, alienate a few of the more powerful nations, e.g. China and alternatives will accelerate.

Having power and control is possible if you use it with caution. Do it with relentless force as has been happening in the last 3.5 years and at some point, people won't care anymore whether it hurt them or not if they revolt against the controlling power. Remember, that is how revolutions started in the past.

To be honest, no matter who would replace Mr T, it would be easy to do better than him. Simply, because Mr T and his merry man/women have not done a single positive thing in 3.5 years, nada, zilch, no a single iota.

You asked for a proper comparison. :)
