id have to look, but while the megadalon is huge, I think the blue whale is roughly 3 buses long

Whales are massive.

That they are so smart makes orcas&killer whales way more scary than sharks.
Its like massive dolphins, with bloodlust. :p

poor seals, stuck on that small bit of ice with no where to go. And the minke, too slow to outswim them.

Apparently they are apex predators..have you got any off the swedish coast as they don't mind cold water?

So it appears they can come visit, but we dont have any living here as far as i know.
Im pretty sure if you go to Norway you will find alot more Orcas/killer whales.

Edit: i edited my post above and added a clip where they hunt down a whale.

Sorry to bring the topic back round to the impeachment hearings, but for my sins I have now watched more of the witness questioning, albeit only from the republican congressmen I couldn't stomach democrats like swalwell. [Perhaps that's my bias]

I'm sorry but the key witnesses weren't impressive, too clearly an agenda, the holmes man was pulling faces, you don't do that as a witness.

Fiona hill may be a naturalised american but she had a north east england accent, the tv audience must've been thinking 'we're gonna impeach the president because of a strange looking british woman's testimony...wtf?!'

If written evidence comes to light or audio from recorded phone calls, then that could be tricky for trump. Hearsay evidence and the conjecture following on, doesn't really seem enough to remove a president. Because of trump's extremely dodgy reputation in certain minds/quarters, he's judged guilty before the hearings had even started.

Whereas Biden boasted on camera about doing a quid pro quo himself, threatening to hold back needed aid, that ought to be looked at too, whether there was a personal angle to it because of his son's new highly paid job working for burisma.

Yup you're too biased. You're more biased than CNN and that's pretty impressive. It's like pressing mute button everytime the other side is speaking and only listening to your conspiracy side which keeps lying and distorting the facts. No point debating with you about things if you refuse to listen to the facts.

No I didn't have to press the mute button, most of the youtube vids were of the individual 5 min question segments, so I could just cherry pick the republican ones, I can't bear that swalwell bloke, although now my memory comes back to me I did watch one or two democrats, maloney and deming's iirc.

I haven't watched all the republican interviews either, but if the senators are more senior and capable than the congressmen, they'll have a field day with these witnesses.

There were real lawyers asking questions too. And even though I hate Nunes and his pure idiotic line of questioning...I still listened to him since I need to know what the hell is your side smoking. Well I don't know if he even tried questioning...he just tried mentioning Biden/Burisma or some other conspiracy things as often as possible.
Those witnesses were fully capable of answering questions. They were non-partisan fact witnesses. Even Sondland who was hired by Trump and sent on a special mission by Trump had to witness against Trump. No wonder that Trump is blocking all kinds of witnesses and documents since none of them can exonerate him. Everything and everyone speaks against Trump.

d'you watch the whole thing?

Nunes wasn't the best, but obviously each congressmen focused on a different part, somebody had to bring up the biden/burisma subject if only to find out the witnesses knowledge of it. I think he does have presence, and seriousness, so you can't dismiss him, he's using the hearings to try to get to the bottom of other issues that may involve the ukraine.

Well these hearings were about Trump and not a single person were able to defend Trump. Republicans seemed to be too scared to ask anything from Hill. Your side doesn't want to know the truth. Your side is more dangerous than ISIS is. Your side needs to be destroyed in next election so you learn your god damn lesson.
And I did watch/listen to almost all of it. Missed just one testimony.

Wish I was kidding but I'm not. Your side helps white supremacists, helps destroying the planet, doesn't stop the gun violence, helps Putin, betrays allies and so on. Full of spineless cowards...except Mitt Romney it seems. Everyone else just keep lying or stay silent.

I can't let this one go.

Different skin colour, different name, different accent, different appearance - the abuse these people are being subjected to is horrific, even though many are born-and-bred American citizens, or naturalised Americans.

All I am getting from you is that you also can't see past any of the differences I have mentioned, or else you believe that the USA belongs to Americans, and anyone who is not born-and-bred has no right to be there, or even worse, to speak out.

Regrettably, this type of thinking seems to be endemic in today's USA, which I believe is personally both caused by, and supported by, Trump.

The USA used to be a league of nations - not any more since Trump came to power, I'm afraid.

We are talking about the same woman aren't we?

I mentioned her accent as I suspect most americans watching would've noticed it, she was born in durham NE england and has not lost her accent. My sense is many americans won't take too kindly to having a brit meddle in their affairs, and be part of the attempt to remove the president. I am english/british myself.

If truth be told america probably belongs to the native indians but they were pretty much wiped out by european settlers and then the US army. The USA is still a very diverse country people wise though, the last time I looked.

She is NOT British - she is a naturalised American, so she is not a brit meddling in their affairs.

She quite plainly isn't american in the way she speaks etc.., if people hadn't looked it up or were told that she was a US citizen, they'd assume she was british surely?

You may not like it but that is how many watching that hearing will feel, 'this british lady is interfering in our politics', accent and language is an important part of integration, I'm sure her colleagues in govt would have considered her a bit of an outsider or different, that's human nature.

Don't some americans still call themselves african americans? Dr Hill could call herself a british american, it would be more accurate I think.

Interestingly from wikipedia:

Natural-born-citizen clause

Status as a natural-born citizen of the United States is one of the eligibility requirements established in the United States Constitution for holding the office of President or Vice President. This requirement was intended to protect the nation from foreign influence.

And yet here you have a lady who was born and grew up in NE england with british parents, playing a major role in the removal of a natural-born citizen from the office of President. Don't you see the irony, she wouldn't be able to run for the presidency but she can play a critical role in the impeachment of someone who can.

I really dont understand what you are getting at.
Are you saying because she is not born in the USA her words should count for less?
All that matters is what she knows, not where she is from.

I know thats what Trump+his administration has been pushing towards.
Segregation.
I dont think that is the way to "make america great again"

I am getting at the irony, she can't run for that office herself due to a clause designed to protect the US from foreign influence, but she could play a major role in removing someone who is president.

Anyhow Dr Hill wasn't on the key phone call, and sondland's testimony seemed to get the media and dems much more stoked.

"This requirement was intended to protect the nation from foreign influence".

Yep, I get the irony. Trump, a natural-born citizen attempting to persuade the Ukrain president (a foreign influence) to dig up dirt on his political opponent, hence jeopardizing a vital national interest - the electoral process in 2020.

Why is it ironic?

What you are implying - nay, stating - is that anyone who is not an American citizen by birth is therefore a second rate citizen and not as patriotic?

That is certainly is what it sounds like and is an appalling stance to take; criticising someone and totally discounting their expertise/knowledge etc. purely because of their accent and place of birth.

No wonder the USA is in such a mess, with bigoted views like this being propagated over and over again.

As for only natural-born citizens being able to become President - that is such an antiquated rule it needs to be abolished poste haste, as many other countries have had Presidents/Prime Ministers/Senators etc. who were naturalised, and who have been a credit to their adopted country.

Perhaps Arnold Schwarzenegger - born and brought up in Austria, with very strong traces of his original accent remaining - should never have been elected Governor of California as he obviously isn't as patriotic as an American-born citizen.

president Trump telling ppl at florida rally...that dems don’t want thanksgiving... to be called thanksgiving.

he is just bat shit crazy

dont know how ppl still
take him seriously.

or

its fake news.

It's the same kinda stuff that goes around on Facebook and Twitter how liberals want to get rid of Christmas, or how a family that had to flee their country seeking asylum gets much more welfare money than a regular citizen in need,... You name it and there is a fake news meme about it. The sad part about it is the president of the USA says this on live tv and in his tweets.

(just happened to cross my feed recently) :P

I just saw a clip from Kimmel where he showed Mr T signing the Women's Suffrage Centennial Commemorative Coin Act with lots of ladies around him.

He then turns around and asked with all seriousness: "Why wasn't it done a long time ago"? only to answer himself: "I guess the answer is because I am now president. We get a lot of things done that nobody else did."

Because this year is the centennial you dummy as in 100 years. That happens only once.

Geez, I am baffled that Americans can still keep quiet about this guy with the stupidity he shows every day and even worse, that some are saying he was sent by God.

 as I said before I'm not in the US, I didn't discount her knowledge because of her accent, I just made the point many americans may not like a woman, who sounds a lot like a brit, attempting to stir up **** about their president.

the founding fathers put that clause in the constitution, so the reasoning was good enough for them. Can you name some naturalised presidents/prime ministers that were a credit, I can't think of many, most politicians are a pain in the ass, spouting bs they don't believe for a living.

President Schwarzenegger  I think he would've had a chance, some people were disappointed that he couldn't run for the top job, because they thought he was no-nonsense and different to the career politicians before who had done a bad job. [Some of the same reasons Trump got elected.]

So if the ukrainians uncovered wrongdoing by Biden the american voter mustn't be informed because the source of the information is foreign?

Biden gets the protection of immunity from exposure because he's running for the presidency, that makes a lot of sense, trump's been accused of the same thing in this thread, becoming president to avoid criminal charges until the statute runs out or something.

She was not stirring up anything...she was doing her duty, she was called upon to testify.

She was not stirring up anything...she was doing her duty, she was called upon to testify.

What did she know though that was relevant to the impeachment process, the media seemed to like the fact that she dismissed the idea ukrainians may have meddled in the 2016 election as russian propaganda. Maybe that was her sole purpose, to get that point across to the viewing public.

Twisting it around mack... Trump was trying to force a foreign state into discrediting Biden. You assume there actually is any dirt on Biden, there isn't.

You can't know that for certain, what we do know is he leveraged a billion dollars to get the ukraine's prosecutor fired, the prosecutor appointed by poroshenko and voted in by a majority in their parliament. I think it is a possibility he was trying to help his son's new employers, think of it the other way would he want the ukraine to fire that prosecutor and then hire a replacement who would go after burisma.

It is an unsubstantiated claim.

As a vice-president, Biden was prodding Ukraine’s leaders to tackle the rampant corruption that made their country a risky bet for international lenders — and pushing reform of Ukraine’s cronyism-ridden energy industry. He then delivered the message in 2014 to Poroshenko: “You have to be whiter than snow, or the whole world will abandon you.”

At the same time, Mr. Biden’s son Hunter

which according to some administration officials threatened to undermine Mr. Biden’s agenda. Although there's no proof whatsoever for this assumption.

Thanks to Trump and Giuliani, that subplot has now swallowed the storyline. Their efforts to press Ukrainian officials to investigate unsubstantiated charges against the Bidens have propelled Trump to the brink of impeachment. They have also put Biden on the defensive at a critical moment in the Democratic presidential primary campaign. And that is the whole idea: Republicans hoping to redirect the spotlight onto the Bidens.

And now IG's report came and it says that FBI didn't spy Trump's campaign. Trump and right-wingers keep accusing everyone and you seem to be always wrong. Now you're going after Hunter Biden and spoiler alert...you won't find anything wrong there either. Wonder who is your next target.

In the meanwhile Trump's lawyers keep going to jail. Nunes meeting with criminals and seeing what he can do and of course lying about it. Are there any honest people left in the right-wing after McCain died and all honorable people leaving the republican party?
