FWIW I'm not gushing over Biden; its more a pick of least likely to burn the country down....much rather there were more contenders and these simply werent drawn along party lines but rather who's fit to run a leading, first world country.

But geez, if you plan on representing the people, youd think...people skills are a bit of a must-have; Trump exudes too much 'me-centric' and 'those that are like me'
Agree with you on Biden, and theres no doubt hes only there as a transitional President, but it says a lot about how bad the Trump presidency has been when so many people are willing to vote and support Biden in the hope they can get rid of Trump.

that's it in a nutshell.
It really sint much for-Biden but rather gods-not-Trump.

And while (hopefully) noone is wishing Biden drop of a stroke, it's very much more the hopeful of the VP taking the slot.

(and granted, Biden has some fair views but.....what, 45-55 yr old people can't take the reigns?)

I've said it before....but..politics (IMO) would work so much better if you took the politics out.

Elect a qualified, intelligent person interested in representing the people, help make the divisive cohesive (as best able) and work to represent the WHOLE than those follow your party-line

Yeah, it makes me sound like that ewww socialist (I AM Canadian lol).
But there really IS middle ground - you cant please everyone but you CAN try to make it work for MOST

Wait, are they older than that?
I thought Biden was like 46-47ish, but you are saying hes older than that?

How old do people get?
Old Attachment (Invalid)

Was talking to an American friend this morning after the debate and he said: if undecided voters voted for Trump in 2016 because he was the best of 2 shitty candidates and they follow through on their logic then Biden should win this one in a landslide.
He didn't vote in 2016 because he didn't like Hillary and is a Sanders fan but now he has already voted by mail-in ballot for Biden. I think there might be alot of people like that now.

The number of mail-in ballots returned at this point in comparison to 2016 is something else: 1 million vs 9500

Honestly, I cant call it (who wins)...at a guess? Biden by a small margin

I'm still going with 50/50. You never know and the polls can be misleading even though they weren't THAT wrong in 2016: in the end Clinton only lost on a couple of thousand votes in the swingstates. Clinton also never had this big a margin and it fluctuated alot more throughout, Biden has been holding a steady lead over Trump even after the SCOTUS nomination by Trump.

And if thats the case then it will be off to the courts for a few years...
Case, perhaps.
constitutionally, he'd still be escorted out as Pelosi steps in

As mentioned, the debate probably will have little impact on those that choose their preferred contender based on party-lines/ideologies.

But the shame of it all is, not everyone is internet-savvy and cant read both sides, analyses, after the fact save for their preferred news network or preferred newspaper.

The debate SHOULD have been an exercise to look into both candidates' platforms and goals

Dont remind me.
I almost tripped while out walking earlier today.
Luckily i didnt, and my hip lives to see another day, but it really makes you appreciate life when things like that happen.
Next time maybe i wont be so lucky, and all theres left to do is roll down in the nearest ditch.

Made me think about this song i found in my grandpas vinyl collection.
YOLO so you better be careful and appreciate the small things.

For my sins, i watched that debate. Sorta like watching a terrible football team (Trump) against a team who some think should win (Biden) but yet there's the nagging feeling they'll upset the odds cos of the others' ineptitude.

Bet my bottom D that Trump will sneak it come the tail end of the year - there's literally no enthusiasm about Biden and, quite frankly, if you can't finish Trump off after a period of riots/division and Christ knows what not, then then you don't deserve it tbh.

Trump could literally maim someone on live telly and i think he'd have a half decent chance of re-election. What that says about society, or how crap his opposition are, is another thing.

I also watched the debate and I was so entertained

Joe Biden is 77 yrs old and Trump is 74 :eek2:

I hope when I get to that age I still have my marbles lol

That puts you as prime candidate to be the first female President cos, based on that the other night, neither Biden nor Trump have any marbles left.

I trust you'll listen to the Bonanza lobbyists.

When electing a leader the choice should be difficult because all parties involved have so many great ideas, but instead it always seems to come down to trying to choose the lesser of two evils.

Seems to be the same everywhere.
Anyway, politics drool and nature documentaries rule!

They have even got them on tape handing cash over. The shit is going to hit the fan

In 2016, Trump was elected president for a variety of reasons. Some of his campaign promises were:
  • Placing American people and American values first
  • Promoting an inclusive, patriotic message that extended to Americans of all ages, races, and backgrounds

People in turn voted for Trump as:
  • They were seeking a change from career politicians
  • Fed up with immigrants taking local jobs
  • Wanted an end to globalisation
  • Deep seated hatred of Hillary Clinton (particularly regarding Benghazi)
  • Middle America - especially non-college educated men and women, felt ignored.
  • Trump was a successful businessman, and possessed leadership capabilities, which were viewed as essential skills for a President.

The reality? The USA of today. A divided, divisive nation. Overseen by a President who himself is a divisive figure.

So if the USA re-elects Trump, then they really will deserve everything they get. And I personally think the world will wash their hands of the USA, and relegate the country to no more than a bit-player on the World stage.
