As far as decent casino reviews go I stick with casinomeister and the pogg. Sometimes I will look at askgamblers however their rating system seems way off.

For example, Slotobank scored a 7 on askgamblers yet when it was operational it was panned by every decent casino out.

Videoslots which in my opinion is the best online casino on ask gamblers scored a 7.8 which seems way too low.

Yes, Ask Grumblers used to be reasonably accurate but since it was sold to new owners has clearly abandoned its moral compass. There are numerous sites on it as you say which are dodgy yet seem to score not far from what the recognized high-quality casinos do. The scores bear no perspective in may cases, especially to what you may be used to on here.

Promoting casinos can be very subjective, as you may have formed a rating based on your own experiences that aren't reflected in the experiences of some other sites or testers. On CM and ThePOGG there is a willingness to sacrifice revenue in order to truly represent negative aspects of certain sites, a minimum standard to be met. When making money takes priority from ethics then some sites will take a turd and roll it in glitter before they present it to you.

There can also be the issue of 'tenancies' where some sites pay to be listed on big affiliate portals, that's before any commissions which alone can cause a conflict of interests and skew the true feelings of the site operator.

So you should do your due diligence about a new casino at two or three sites to get a better picture, or if using just the one site make sure you know and trust it implicitly.

P.S. I was waffling so much I forgot to answer your original question: no, in my opinion their ratings are contradictory and inaccurate.

I agree with Dunover, I wouldn't believe everything I read on the Ask Gamblers website. Even the Grumbes/compaints looks a bit dodgy to me and are skewered in the casinos favour. Things that fly at Ask Gamblers would never be stood for on CM or The Pogg.

The owners of AskGamblers ( Catena Media ) have just bought BettingPro.com for over €10m

Hopefully, with all that cash swilling around, they will start doing the right thing and stop promoting known rogue casinos....

It would be incredibly hard to make an "accurate review system."
You can safely assume that it's all opinion unless you know otherwise.

At best you would only find a system with ratings based on reasons e.g. +1 because of fast cashout.

I used to use ask gamblers but they allow anything and anyone now. Its now nothing more than a vast depository of as many casinos as they can list and I dont trust the ratings at all. Crap site where players can easily get burned if following the reviews given out there. Just my own view!

if it offers any insite,i joined askgamblers to lodge a complaint against raging bullshit casino as it came up everywhere on searches, and i informed my vip manager i was going to lodge a complaint with them in the hope they would come to thier senses and not want the exposure to an obvious fraudulent cover up.He didnt give two hoots and basically said go right ahead, and so i did. That was the last contact i had with the casino via email, my askgamblers pab was not resolved as raging bullshit never answered them also, and also never responded to a thread i started there about the subject..
A month or so later i discovered this site and pm the casino rep before doing a pab like your spose to and got no response,so i thought it was pointless doing a pab here as well because i just wasnt going to get any response.
Last resort i started a thread here and within 5 minutes of the thread being started the rep responded in the thread.
If a casino isnt greatly concerned about bad publicity on a casino discussion website surely it says something about the websites credibility surely?

its a very good site if you ignore the scores and look at the reviews

well, like always just ignore any BS scores and look at reviews/complaints

wh is rated under 2.0 on trustpilot but most of it is bs frompeople saying they need to send verified ID, not able to cashout(why would you cash out in the first place?),or bonus banned

This is mainly Sportsbetting, and i also never heard the name before: but it's obviously a strong brandname - i did a quick search on Alexa, and it showed that it's scores very decent in terms of international ranking, and the SEO guy apparently knows what he's doing. They have the bbc.co.uk sports section directly linking to them, as well as usatoday.com, and score extremely well in the search engines, at a glance.

And then there could be a large database of returning customers involved, perhaps even a large amount of affiliate accounts are being sold as part of the package. Just guessing, but there are many reasons as to why a media company would fork over such an amount.

    It's big business...

P.S. - yet another interesting thing to read on C.M. eh? wink wink nudge nude..:p

Have previously asked how their rating system works but they refuse. They claim it is a secret algorithm. :lolsign:

Sooner or later the regulators will start to look at the affiliate sites since many are deliberately misleading customers. Not saying AG is the worst here though but IMO they need to become more transparent about their rating system if they are to become credible.

True - they have sites like Queenvegas (10/10?) above the likes of Videoslots: always did think their ratings were a bit odd:what:

If you look at the detail in my 32Red self-exclusion post, I will also make you aware that AskGamblers rejected my complaint even though I provided them with sufficient evidence to back up my claim completely. It's disgusting to be honest, and as an addict I want to do something about this - which authorities can you approach to bring this to light? I have a "legitimate" claim which was rejected, completely biased and unfair and taking advantage of people clearly.

To me has always been evident that Ask Gamblers was promoting some casinos, but I used their reviews, comments and forum as a source of information anyway. And I must say that I've always found some pretty good advices, and it was always useful to get an idea of what a casino offers. I had no idea they were behaving so badly with complaints, though. I'll be more careful.
I usually check more than one site when I look for a new casino, not only ask gamblers. What about vegasmaster? Does anyone use it? I use it to look for info about a casino. I know they promote some brands too, but the reviews are usually pretty accurate.

AskGamblers are certainly very touchy about reviews for some casino's and definitely do not like it if you are very blunt in your review and will remove ones they do not like, or more likely the ones that will upset their 'casino friends' the most. Taking this and their casino scoring into account they would appear to be anything but unbiased and inpartial. But hey, that's just my opinion and why I joined a more reputable site here.

No secret sauce here. I am fully transparent on our ratings at Casinomeister:

    Casinomeister Rating System Explained

With the next relaunch (coming soon) we will be allowing many of our members to include their ratings as well. When the smoke clears we will have ratings from me (CM), the Meister Minions, and senior members and above. You can chose which one means the most to you, and go from there.

I only use this site, very rare I venture to any other forum but have in the past looked at complaints etc and ratings at other sites for my own references.

I know AG is a big site in all ways but to me there not trusted, how can you trust a site that promotes rouge

someone just pointed out they purchased a site for 10 mill, I suppose that will miraculously be a 10 star rating before long

I know a conversation come up before about this site and the boss did state you can pay to be promoted on here but money will no way influence the ratings unlike some said sites

I would suggest that the Casinomeister's review of Casino Cruise and its relatively lowly ratings in here is an indication that -despite Brian knowing the Casino owner personally for over 10 years- it is an indication that Casinomeister is impartial

I have put in bold where the nail has been hit firmly on the head. Quantity does not mean quality. Ask Gamblers was sold for 15M Euros. They sell space to the highest bidder, hence rogues such as CashPot Casino owned and run by AffPower get positive coverage on AG. It's all about recouping the outlay. It is a big shame as groups like Catena have the power in their network to ensure rogue operators are stopped being fed unaware players.

For me they are very few review sites I trust. CM being top of the list and a few others who are members here who run there own websites. So in some way always linked to here.

The rest and they are many I dont bother with and Ask Gamblers list anyone as pointed out above. Shame they sucker in so many people who will get scammed
