The full Monty would have paid more than 400x but I can't complain.
I may have told this before but in 1990 I put a Canadian on each day of Goodwood because Ch4 showed 5 live races plus they showed highlights in the evening. One of the days I marked out my bets but because I had to go on an all day training course I couldn't get to the bookies. All 5 won I found while watching the evenings replays. They ranged from 16/1 to something like 11/2. I've never gone close since

And the course was pointlessly shit

The owners of Definite Katie in the 8.15 expect her to place at the very least (warning : owners are notoriously optimistic about their horses )
She has halved in price though, even though on paper she's the stable second string

What a terrible ride that was, don't think it would have won, but would have placed if the jockey hadn't had her half a mile behind coming into the home turn ffs. Why do jockeys think they can make up that sort of ground in such a short space of time.

I had the same as you in the second race, thought it was all over the winner until the last 50 yards and then I new it was going to get chinned on the line... and as usual I had it to win, not EW.

For a Saturday, with decent meetings, the field sizes are low to say the least, apart from a couple of races.

1.50G Rewaayat, likes the ground, in form, seems progressive, and think, despite the odds being low, will win this. 7/2.

4.10G Mister Snowdon, needs this trip (6f last time), will probably be held up behind then deliver a challenge towards the end. Possibly my bet of the day. 3/1

Will do a win double on those.

Doing an EW double on the two below as I just cannot find anything else to make a lucky 15!

12.55N Strawberry Jack, put this up 2 weeks ago when it finished 3rd at 12/1, and fluffed thestart again. Same comments apply today so will just copy and paste them here 'Strawberry Jack bit of a speculative one this, especially after it's last run when it was slowly away, however on his form from last year, and over the winter on the AW he has a chance of being placed at least.' Currently 25/1 in places (20's widely available).

3.35G The Stewards Cup is wide open, wouldn't like to be taking 4/1 about either Nahaarr (draw) or Meraas (weight), although either could win, there are doubts about both, and a bit of traffic problem in a race like this can cost the race. Obviously applies to any runner, but would rather take a chance on something at bigger odds. 6 places pretty much everywhere, except Hills going 7.
Summerghand @ 22/1 has to have a good a chance as any to get a place. Proven over the distance, proven in the class, proven in big fields, draws not great, but the jockey is ok at getting out of bad draws, looks a decent bet at the price.

As it started lashing down I've been in longer than expected, so had a closer look at a couple of races, and Makawee stands out as being value (3.15N). Currently around 8/1, I have him as being more a 3/1 chance.

Not one to go overboard on, but certainly think he has a chance of being in the first 2.

I think Open Wide has a chance in the Stewards, but will need luck in running. (25/1)

George Bowen is ridiculously high at 40's, if you ignore his last run (which I thought at the time was a bit dodgy, as if he was being held up for a better race) then I would imagine he would be about 12/1 today. 40/1 for 6 places is worth a little bet.

Finally, Alexander Angel is another thats too big at 40/1, won the Ayr Gold Cup in September at 28/1, so isn't a bad horse.

Going to do small reverse exactas and trifectas (25p-£9 total stake) on the 4 I've mentioned, and hope its one of those races where 3 outsiders fill the paces
At the prices the trifecta should pay about £30k, and the exacta at least £500, so obviously not a strong bet, but you don't need many of them to come in at those prices to be in profit

Will back a few horses in singles during the afternoon.

Took Laafy with PP free bet.

Really hard to actually fancy anything to make a lucky 15 up with.

In the end i just put this e/w lucky 15 on and i don't normally do each way bets. Went against a couple that will bet at singles but needed higher prices to make e/w worthwhile.

First time blinkers, Crowley is on this and presumably could have rode the 2nd fav, down in grade and only really has Glen Shiel to beat, who's a good horse, but often doesn't follow though with wins.

1.25N Mews House, in form, dropped in class, should beat the favourite.
