ok, so in the big race at Galway (6.45) the favourite might win, but anyone taking 9/4 in a 20 runner handicap of this quality must be mad.

So doing these EW 6 Places (PP)

Dalton Highway (6/1)
Dalileo (33/1 now)
Mister Blue Sky (more I look at this, more I like it for a place) (28/1)
De Name Escapes Me (9/1)

Just £1 EW on them all and going to do them in combination forecasts and tricasts.

There is some cracking racing tomorrow. I'm in two minds about placing my bets this evening but that means chancing non runners more.

Yeah I'm the same, possible non runners vs possible drop in price.

In the 3.45G Ornate is currently 22/1 with a couple of firms (no wonder Coral pulled out of Oddschecker, only 14/1 there!).

Last year he won the Dash off a mark of 99, he went up to 103, then beat a 105 rated horse by a length.

Didn't get home in a big Ascot handicap after that, then took on Bataash here, ending up third, ahead of others rated 105 and 111.

His form dropped then but had a wind op over the winter.

This season he went off too fast in the Palace House and called it a day halfway, at Newcastle was only just caught after leading again (RP comments were : Led at fast pace, ridden and headed over 1f out, soon rallied, kept on final furlong, lost second towards finish (op 22/1))

Last time at Ascot he was badly drawn and badly hampered, but does mean his rating has fell to 97.

Tomorrow, he has a smallish field, the draw shouldn't matter that much, and I think theres a good chance he will get at least a place.

However, apart from the non runner side, you don't get BOG betting before tomorrow, I can't see there being a rush of money for him, so will probably hang on, but if I see his price dropping I'll probably stick a fiver EW on him tonight.

Also like Fifth Position in the 1.45 at the moment

I quite fancy Acclaim the nation in the !5.45 but your quite convincing. I have found it quite interesting how wind ops have became so popular in recent years yet the results seem quite mixed
 
Don't let me put you off, theres a couple I think might pass him in the last furlong, and its a place bet rather than win (although winning would be good :) )

It's one of those bets where I think he has as good a chance of placing as any other in the race, and at 22/1 is far too high a price, put it this way, if I were a bookie, I would be pricing it up around 10's :)

I've placed my Goodwood bets but I'll wait until morning for the irish racing. I may do an each way on ornate too :)
 
3.45G Ornate 18/1 (reasons above)

1.45G Sucellus. Beat the favourite Cape Cavalli back in September by a short head, and giving him 6lb. Been off the boil since, but showed signs of coming back into form it's past couple of runs. Less weight today, and think he might give a decent account of himself. Obviously a lot of good horses in the race, but I do think this has a better chance than the odds suggest. 5 places most places (WH going 6). Fifth Position would be my choice if I could only put a win bet on (and Red October my third), but think they both have a decent chance of placing, so going with the higher priced one for the Lucky 15. 20/1 in places.

2.45G Marie's Diamond, has won better races than this, always gives a decent run, have backed it a few times over the past year and doesn't owe me anything. Couldn't be against it today. 12/1 most places with 4 places.

4.55G Chartered, C&D winner, in a race almost any of the field could win, seems massively overpriced to me at 14's, I had it around a 7/1 shot, so that is my last one for the L15.

Others worth a mention.

2.15G Only doing this for the free fiver bet with PP, but like Devious Company over the favourite at the prices. 4/1 currently.

3.15G Stradivarius should win this at a canter, and the clear advantage 3yo horses get points towards Santiago getting second (possibly even winning). However, if if develops into a tactical affair, which it might, then Spanish Mission might get 2nd. I may do a SMALL rfc with Eagles By Day, just in case the front two wear each other out and a shoch happens. The exacta will likely pay around 1000/1, so if I'm passing a bookies, will do a 50p one, 'just in case'.

I stuck my bet on last night while looking at the form in paddy power but after looking through my paper this morning I found that I would have taken a few different nags! But I'll stick with the bet I made last night.

I love my horse racing but after years of betting win only I found each way betting is a much safer bet even though it can restrict how big I can win. It used to be that I would be up a lot or down a lot. Mostly down.
Now my attitude is that it is not so much about how much I can win but how little I lose.
I used to take a similar attitude when I played poker

Made the mistake by placing my bets last night as well like you did.

Never really studied them but first won at 11/2 but as I placed it yesterday I had it at 7/2.

2nd one is same as yours in 1.45 race and again only got it at 9/2.

Other 2 horses in lucky 15 are Battleground and Space Blues.

Not very often I do a win lucky 15 on mainly favourites just never fancied anything else.

Least I got 1 winner out of it tho lol.

You really should take best odds that way if your horse drifts out in the betting you get the better odds and if they go from 5/1 to 7/2 or whatever you still get it at 5/1. Paddy power and others offer that service.

Yeah I know normally do but done it quickly and at WH as got money in there so never saw point of depositing elsewhere.

I saw that special priced double just before the off and stuck £20 on it :)

How good a horse is Stradavarius though, boxed in when it mattered and still won easily!

ok, so yesterday was a disaster, wasn't going to have a bet today after that, but a full screen of dogs heads on book of dead @ 50p stake, resulting in a £700 withdrawal from a £50 deposit has changed my mind (£50 left for better too :D )

2.15G King's Caper 18/1, unfortunately Paul Kealy also put this Mark Johnston trained and Joe Fanning ridden selection up, so the big prices have gone, but still think its ok at 18/1. Just beaten in a G2 last time out, could go one better here.

1.45G Mukha Magic, I wouldn't have took this at 25/1 as it was earlier but 66/1 is ridiculously high, 66/1 with 5 places at Unibet currently.

4.20G Zhui Feng, finished a close third in a much better C&D race last year. Conditions are ideal, trainer and jockey not doing great, but not bad either. 10/1 5 places (unibet) is worth a tickle at.

1.10G Lake Lucerne, think this is very likely to get placed at lease. 8/1

these didn't quite make it to the lucky 15

3.15G Circus Maximus

6.45 Galway if this was being ran anywhere else, I would have a big bet on Easy Game to be placed (10/1 6 places), but as I can never get anything placed there, I'll possibly put £2 EW or something on it.

I must have been mistaken because I took it that all told everyone was up on yesterday?

I quite fancied Be more EW in the 1.10 given its and Baldings form but I think the fave will win it at too short an odds.
1.45 My punt Oleg seems to have a lot of support and could possibly be vying for joint fave before the off.

3.15 I would have opted for Circus Maximus too EW but I think the fave will win at short odds.

4.20 Zhui Feng seems to be coming in for some backing but I like to see some good recent form in a horse which he seems to lack. My choice EW Mottrib has decent form and I quite fancied Mountain Brave which seems to be getting some backing. Interested too in Frankie's Verboten.

I backed Siskin when it won the Irish Guineas, thought he won it well and was by far the best horse in the race, but for me the performance that Mohaather put up in its last race was breathtaking, he spreadeagled the field in a few strides and although it was only a group 2 he did it so easily that I think he will take all the beating today.

Well lucky 15 was crap.

Decided to stick a couple quid on A Star above but she gave that a bad ride was best horse and should have won. But pretty sure will get stake back as free bet.

Looking like a bad day but then looked at next race and decided to go against my horse as favourite was really fancied.

So bet Steel Bull at 11/4 and also doubled it with Siskin. The single means just slightly in profit today but Siskin will make it a good day .

Looking at all of the odds for all of the placings today it is not surprising that its been a bad day so far for most punters.
I'm just going to pleasure myself with some Haagen Dazs :P
 
Another for Galway, massive long shot this one though. DAWN RAIDER 6.15 50/1 Ran over 3m at Galway this time last year, weakened towards the end coming second. Every time its ran over 2m5f it has ran well, anything more or less is no good for it. Its 2m5f tonight plus 6lb less than last years 3m race. However, the jockey and trainer aren't in good form at all, so it is a pretty big 'if' as to if it will run well enough to get a place.
 
Nice shout EW for Zhui Feng in the last Col. Mine squeezed in for a place to give me the bulk of my bet back so I can't complain. I bet the bookies are very happy with today's results.

Not the best days racing, so todays losers are

1.10 Flippa The Strippa, halved in price since last night, ignore it's last run when it was badly drawn and never really had a chance, was a close 3rd in a much better race than this last year. jockey and trainer both doing ok. May do a small RFC with Bal Mal who I can't see being out the places.

2.15 Yazaman, can't really see past this one, should be good enough to win this.

2.45, no bet, but don't think English King will be at his best on this track, certainly wouldn't be backing him at 5/4.

4.55 Nigel Tinkler has only had 2 runners here that I can see, and has a 50% strike rate (1 winner obviously). Trainer/Jockey combo is 3/5. Acklam Express should be good enough to win this.

3.15 Undecided if to back this or not, but One Voice is a strange runner. I think Alpine Star is easily as good as the favourite in this, so I don't understand why the trainer is running One Voice instead. It's not as if its some small race, its £141k up for grabs, so I think this one is expected to do better than the 16/1 generally available, suggests. If there were 3 places, I would be all over it, I may put a tenner on the 3 places market on Betfair, around 3.5 available. In the win market, it's currently trading less than some of the bookies are going, which is also a good sign.

1.45 The trip should suit Magical Morning better than last time, but the lack of money is putting me off.

Might not back anything there today.

Over at Southwell, Sean's there for 2 rides, Pogo I Am in the 1.30 (currently 2/1) and a 40/1 outsider in the 2.00. Don't think he's gone there for a day out so have to think Pogo I Am is expected to win.

Cant see Gowanbuster being beaten in the 6.30M, 2/1

Madeeh in the 9.00M should win this, around evs, mighth do a treble with these three, should pay around 15/1.

Not best days racing and crap for e/w bets so just did a win lucky 15 on these 4 so you can all avoid them.

And only just noticed all 4 horses only contain one vowel the letter A now that is weird maybe a good omen lol.

I have had a few quid EW on Charli Parcs @18-1 in the Galway Hurdle, he has always had a big reputation and Nicky Henderson always spoke highly of it and it showed on its last run that it retains plenty of ability.
The Galway Hurdle is a race you always need a lot of luck in running in, but if the luck goes his way i cant see him being out of the first 6.

I prefer the racing at the other meeting to be honest and have a few bets on those. An interesting one I have taken EW is Amelia's Dance in the 1.30

Edit. A nice start with Glam Anna :)

Edit2. I think that Amelia's Dance is one I will back next time out because it jumped and ran well and probably needed the race

Well i knew racing was crap today hence just one losing lucky 15.

Got a tenner as that was max bet allowed on Nazeef at 4/1 from flash odds. Only took it as fancy it and think 4/1 was good price for it. That wins maybe put other bets on but if loses then leave it till tomorrow as no point backing things i don't fancy just for sake of it.
