e posted this in and i do apologize for spamming the casino board lately. I want people to know im a genuine guy, i have a problem at the moment and i GENUINELY want peoples advice.

Ok, this is the story of october 2013, 1st of the month, i have some debts, £700 or so, no biggy im paying these off at an agreed term and my pay will cover it in over 3 months, i do gamble ( the debts are not gambling related, i dont have a "problem" gambling meaning i dont borrow to gamble, these were for a car, not going to bore you with the details ) im 22, i live with my mom and pay her £200/month, i know this is nothing compared to gas/electic costs ( shes paid the morgatge so there is no rent, but thats besides the point ) basically i dont pay half, but she is my mom and i suppose she charges me what she thinks i can afford, and i can, i do give her the occasional treat and my keep is paid when im paid.

For the last few months ive won a little and lost a little, but nothing substantial, But for some unknown reason october 2013 has presented me with "the best problem in the world" Whats the problem? I dont know what to do with what ive won.

Like i said, i deposited my usual £150 to betat.co.uk, a casino that at the time was going through a baptism of fire, i read all the thread and heard nothing but praise, so i decided to take them up on there sign up offer.

here is a video i made as i planned to document the run i was on, unfortuneatly i only recorded 1 more vid after it, i sound like a complete idiout in it, but im no chopley

i kept talking about "the next clip" in this video, i havent uploaded that one, becuase after the second clip i didnt record anymore, basically what happend was i kept winning, and winning, and winning at betat, and when the dust settled, i withdrew close to £3000 stirling, I waited for this between maybe 4-5oct-8-10oct, and when it cleared, i tried my hand at bet365, a site ive used for years, and since i won all this money, i did things i never dreamed i do, put £300 on england at 1/3 on vs montenegro, and won £100, played slots and won, played roulette and won, cashed out over £1350 for £400 deposits, another £950 profit, in this time, i paid my mom her "keep" of £200, i suprised her on her birthday with £100 boots voucher + card + bottle of spirits she likes, After that i signed up at redbet, deposited 200 euo which is about £160, i now have a balence thier of 1250 euro and no wagering requirements, ive paid one of my debts for £400 off, i have £244 outstanding on one of my debts that ive promised myself im going to pay, ive paid for my flight for my holiday im going on in 2 days! for another £100, ive changed 40 stirling into hungarian floring, and obviosly paid for my living expenses ( cigs, beer, takeaways, travel to work ect )

and now i have £600 stirling cash, £1550 stirling in the bank, 1250 euro in a casino, and i get paid for £1200 stirling in 2 weeks, my problem is im still playing, that 1250 euro is sat there, i cannot withdraw until my card is verified, which means i need to check a statement, but my online banking atm does not show that transaction, so i cannot withdraw as it stand for probly another day, Everything i seem to touch atm turns to gold, im realistic, and know it will all come to and end, but for the life of me, everytime i think "dont play anymore" im tempted to play, and end up winning a ridiculous amount, as mentioned im going on holiday in 2 days, and i think with that week off i can let it all sink in, im not a rich guy, but what ive won this last 2-3 weeks is what i earn in 3 months + if not more, im withdrawing the max from cash machines as quick as i can but its so tempting to play when i know not only i have the spare money, buy its sat in my bank!

again, i dont think i have a problem, my usual limit i stick to and have done for months, but its just the sudden rush of money im stuck with, as i type this i want to play more at redbet, but im holding off the temptation for now, i genuinely want your guys opinion, ive thoguth about giving it all to my mom/gf, but as i said, im only able to withdraw 300/day and the rest is sat there tempting me :S

so what are you asking?
if you're up, take it as a rare gift and run with it
people have streaks - but they lose more often than not
given time, you WILL lose - that's a guarantee

im asking is there a possibility online casinos can freeze your balence and not let you play anymore, im asking is there a way to put money somewhere so im unable to play with it, im asking should i play more? im asking alot of things, ridiculous as it may sound, i dont want to lose anythnig, but i want to play, as i type that, it sounds ridiculous, but im tempted...

The simplest thing to do is to withdraw your daily limit if you genuinely don't think you are or could be a problem gambler.

Reading between the lines, you sound like you think you could have an issue. So, the thing to do is to contact BetAt - explain your situation, ask to be self-excluded for a period and figure out how quickly they can pay you.

I would do a self examination to see if i could have a gambling problem. If i have to find ways to keep from gaming away my win the answer could be yes:(. Gl whatever you do.

Casinos can generally do what is called a flushing - remove funds from balance so they are no longer playable. Ask Igor or Costa if they can do that for you.
You can also remove the casino from your computer to avoid temptation.
Barring that, you can opt to close your acct.
Personally, if you can't control the temptation to spend money you feel you don't want to spend, then yes, either ask another to control your finances if it's that bad, or consider another hobby.
Ask the casino if they will set a deposit limit for you after flushing your funds if need be

You have hit a great streak and know deep down that it will not last; this is the way the randomness goes.
IMO you know the money will go back as it does, you are afraid that you will do it quickly and be upset by that prospect.

Limits are great when you have a budget controlled by the wages you earn; when the zone becomes cloudy in that you have more money than normal you may become nervous.

I’d suggest you take all the money above what you would normally expect from a session (a normal one) or even a good one and spend it on things that perhaps the family need, stupid things like a kettle, a LCD TV, socks or anything that makes you happy to share and know that what you won meant something, tangible, real and something you can look upon and say I did that.

When the good times roll take advantage..... when you get dead periods know it's just a game but stick to a limit you are happy with.

I'm going to play the wise (read: boring) old fart and suggest you take all winnings you withdraw and put them into a savings account, or something you can't get to as easily as checking. I like CDs... dunno if your banks have CDs, but put it somewhere you can't just write a check and spend (gamble) it. Then next time you want a car or vacation or engagement ring to buy, it won't set you back so much. Keep a bit for a treat for yourself and save the rest. You will not be young forever.

The money sitting there waiting on verification? let it sit. Then when you can withdraw, leave just a little to play on, and take the rest and run.

Good luck.

(I know... no one read past the 'savings account' part..... LOL)

You haven't been lucky... you've been RIDICULOUSLY lucky! :eek2:

Some great advice already given. I know (believe me!) how tempting it is to go on a "high-rolling bender" when you have won a substantial amount... and I also know that this almost always ends in tears :(
Sounds like you already have pretty good will power - be strong and withdraw everything you can, pay off any debits you've got and have a GREAT holiday. In the meantime don't gamble on anything until after your holiday. When you do go back to it, only deposit & play at the same level that you did before your winning streak.

Be strong & good luck!

Although you are not keen on a savings account with limited access, putting a chunk in something like a 1 year or 2 year savings bond with no chance of early withdrawal would ensure that you would at least have something to fall back on if things suddenly went horribly wrong whilst continuing to play.

This is the problem with a big win, you are on a high, and when you seem unstoppable this high intensifies. Unless you can identify a point at which to stop, it can end up with all the winnings being played back, and then you think "Why the **** did I do that!"

If you are going on holiday in 2 days, it's a good time to stop whilst still on a high, you may enjoy the holiday more than if you lost that remaining €1000+ before you leave rather than wait for the statement to update and provide verification. If you end up losing, you may find the low you are in spoils your holiday.

When you get back, you will still be at your gambling high point, but you should then be able to verify the account and keep that €1000+, plus you may not be on quite such an intense high and will realise what an absolutely fantastic run you had, and that it won't happen again for a very long time, if at all. Once the surplus funds have been dealt with, you can go back to your usual gambling budget, stakes, and deposits. If as is likely you start losing, you will only lose at the rate your original budget allowed for, rather than the higher rate that your large win would allow.

I'd save the money. Take it from me those slots can be damn tight when they want to be (playing MG the last time I had a cashout was months and months ago). Very rarely you will have a winning streak but the games will end up sucking it all back and more. BTW I've only ever won under $1000 at any given MG. So seem's to me that your on an amazingly fantastic run!

Save the money but put into an account you cant touch, you will need money for the future, what about buying a bigger house? Yep I'd save the money. As VWM said put it into a bond. Hell do some real gambling with the money buy shares. Anyway good luck with whatever you decide to do :)

But those other times, you strike it rich!

In all seriousness, the advice in this thread has all been very good. There's a reason you'll hear tons of stories along the lines of "I managed to run my $100 all the way up to $4500, and i swear I was going to quit as soon as I hit $5,000, but I ended up giving it all back." The run's gotta end sometime.

Maybe part of the problem isn't how different things are now that you've made an incredible run, hitting the top 1% of luck. Maybe the problem is you feel like it should be different, there should be a sense of completion, something should have changed. Maybe if you won a bit more, you'd truly start to feel that positive change that's at the tip of your fingers.

But it doesn't really work that way. Even if you win 3x the money, you'll still be the same person, same hobbies, fundamentally everything will be the same. You might feel that you could afford to risk some of your winnings back for a chance to shoot for the stars, but they aren't really there. It might be a happy thought, but it's really only an illusion.

Or maybe not. In any case, as others have said, you should really consider the temporary self-exclusion option. By your own admission, you're not completely sure if you can control your behavior. It's not that you think that you WILL put the money in play, you just know that there's some chance, however small, that it might happen. And it also sounds like you don't want to take that risk. PM the reps for any site you have more than 300 euros or pounds on and ask what they can do for you. Casinos generally want players to gamble responsibly, and it isn't really a big deal for them to set some temporary limits. After the time period is over, you can be right back in action if you feel like it.

Also remember that gambling issues can be a bit of a continuum. Nobody is perfect, we all make mistakes, and probably everyone here has done something stupid with gambling at one time or another. But they're also called "mistakes," for a reason, better to avoid them when possible.

Also always good to get some exercise or new hobbies in there to keep your mind sharp and prevent it from circulating over the same things over and over, easier to keep your gambling at safe levels if you've got some other stuff to balance it with.

'Grats on the win.

Ok, i could lie now and say ive taken all the advice on board, that didnt happen, after i made the thread i carried on drinking, and well, lost my entire balence at redbet, The only posotive thing is this is the kick in the ass moment i need to finally come down from the high of winning a massive amount, i felt sick when i lost it, but i know in reality i was the luckiest person alive to even be allowed to keep the winnings from redbet, and im doing what all gamblers do, im justifying my behaviour even though i know i messed up, But as mentioned, this is what i needed, every temptation to deposit and play has now gone, and i actually as sick as it sounds feel a bit better as im now not thinking about if i can win more ect, I had an amazing run in october 2013, now the final dust has settled, i think im up about 3,000+ profit, even with the loss at redbet

£2,500ish from betat
£900ish from bet365
+ smaller cashes from both these sites and others.

( both profits, not including stakes )

and i would have had another £8-1000 from redbet, but ill take the loss as a wake up call, im going to take the advice on board from putting it into a savings account i think, but i dont want to be able to deposit online with the said account, ill have to talk to my bank to see if this can be done, after today ill be on a nice week holiday where ill forget about gambling, and ive made a promise to myself that october is done, ill go back to my limit in september and i wont be playing higher like i have been.

Thanks to everyone whos helped me with my various issues this month, Big thanks to andy at redbet and igor at betat, and others for helping my with problems with withdrawing and mistakes, Glad i found this site, but i wont be back here till september 1st!

Oh no! :( Well at least you won which is allot more than I can say for myself. You had an amazing run! :)

Yes you will want to put the money into some kind of savings account. I know different accounts are available at different banks. I have one that I can only make one wiyhdrawal from per month which comes in handy whenever I need the extra cash.

Just out of curiosity how did this loss come about? What games were you playing and how much were you betting? While the games are random I seem to tend to lose more on higher bets.

I highly recommend you stay sober whilst hitting the slots, it seems to be a common ingredient for trouble. Other than that setting a weekly or monthly limit is also a good idea if you don't want to quit altogether.

You poor devil. You've had the WORST kind of luck possible - you opened several accounts and won at them all. vary dangerous. You think you're invincible and it'll go on and on. It won't. If you aren't careful those 700 car debts you paid/should pay off will be the tip of the iceberg. You're 22 and live at home with mum. Carry on with overconfidence and you'll be there at 42. Almost ever problem gambler (not you - yet) started off winning. This triggers a switch in the back of the mind which is hard to switch off. Yes, money won is twice as sweet as money earned BUT just sit back and think of what you would have had to do at work to take that amount home, and how long for. Please don't lose perspective.

well i lost 250 slotting, and i thought to myself, Well, Im going on holiday tommorw, why not go with a bang.

1000 euro rouletter spin

300/end section
300/ middle section
25 euro on 0,3,4,8,12,13,15,17,20,24,26,29

7 red. You can imagine i wasnt exactly a happy chappy, but i knew when i hit spin it was a simple massive gamble, and so far ive stuck to my word, havent played anymore or deposited anymore, actually went to my bank after work and withdrew it all out, now have a massive wad of money in my hand and ill be in the car on way to holiday in about 6 hours :D

Borrowing money to gamble isn't the only sign of having a problem with gambling - not that I'm saying you have, just throwing that out there.

As for the run of good luck, enjoy it but don't push it too far - remember, all good things come to an end, keep some in the bank. It will soon be Christmas and I'm sure that money will come in handy. Why not get the families Christmas presents out the way whilst you can?

As fast as you won that money, you can lose it. But congrats on the lucky streak.

Well, you're up 3,000. That's fantastic. :) Yes, it's 1,000 less than your peak, but 3,000 profit is 3,000 profit.

Personally, I play low-stakes, and when I'm winning - for example if I deposit $20, and I'm at $100 - that's $80 profit, right? So I divide my profit in half, and maybe raise my bets a little - I either lose $40, cash out $60, and triple my deposit, or win a little more with that $40, and raise my peak higher, to $130, or $140 - rinse, repeat. I don't ALWAYS follow that process, but if I feel lucky on a particular session, I may do so.

So at the end of the day, profiting 3,000 in your situation would suit me fine, I think. Of course, you are you, and if it makes you unhappy that you cashed out less than your peak balance, then you can stop gambling altogether, or you can suspend gaming and learn from this mistake and come back wiser.
