help with downloading belle rock casinos

Yep, the wonderfully named "download helper" either locks up or downloads the wrong Bellerock casino! (maybe we could work together to figure out how to download a particular casino - e.g. to get Lucky Nugget try downloading River Belle, and so on :D )

i'm not even getting the wrong casino, my download just completly locks up as soon as the progress bar reaches 100% this has been going on for about 3 weeks.

at first i thought it was my PC, but since i got fed up of playing the flash version today, i tried downloading it on another PC and found the same thing happening and is happening at all of their casinos.

since this has been going on for a few weeks, you would of though that they would of realised that people have stopped signing up.

Hi Scrollock,

We have looked into this as you are not the only one with a problem. All of the systems appear to working and we are not sure why the problem is affecting some customers and not all customers. During the download you are taken through an account registration procedure. Have you managed to complete this before the system hangs?

Best regards,

Belle Rock

I've been having the same problem... I've registered and all and got my username, but when the downloading and all is done, it just won't install the software. I ended up playing the flash casino instead.

same problems here. able to complete registration but the software does not complete the download it just hangs on the page where it tells about the deposit options

Get the CD

BelleRock have a CD available (I have one).
The problem may be in the download helper. I have had many problems with MG casinos recently, often they do not update correctly with new games, they may spontaneously log off while playing and so on. I have recently had trouble with RiverBelle, but was able to install from the CD by copying the installation .exe from the CD onto my desktop and executing it directly by clicking on it. The CD interface is problematic, and is prone to hanging once the casino is installed.
I have corresponded with some casino groups who have passed my comments to Microgaming, but they are still scratching their heads!
I have done my own research, and browser settings seem to play a part in the operation of the casino, as I found when Playcheck stopped working in Explorer and the casino interface, but worked fine in Netscape!
My main problem at present is that some casinos refuse to register that an update to games has been installed, and update the games again at each logon. Also I find the red dot and/or update progress bar appears after I have played and exited a game, however the game is still there and loads correctly if I select it again.
I think MG are in danger of leaving players behind by pushing ahead with new development, but leaving these issues that affect some players unresolved. They will not correspond directly with players, and we have to go through our casino operators helpdesk, many of whom do not understand some of my test data, (shown as they repeatedly advise me to disable my firewall and virus checker and try again. This seems to be a standard scripted response, and is simply dodging the issue).

Ask BelleRock, and any other groups that lead to problems, to send you the full install on CD. Some have a full install available on their servers (such as Casino Action Group). These are around 100Mbytes, and Broadband is advised!

Hi All,

Thanks for the post Vinylweatherman, and you are right, we (Belle Rock) are still scratching our heads on this one :what: as it is not a universal problem and seems to only affect some players. I am looking into an alternative to the download helper for those that are having difficulties and will let you know once we have something in place. We also have installation CDs available so should any of you want a CD sent to you, please let me know your details and I will have it sent ASAP. I will also raise this issue with MGS.

Best regards,

Belle Rock

If its of any help, i have a kinda related issue at Gaming Club. I went to play Golden Goose there for the first time and when it finished downloading the game, at 100% it just hangs. If i close down, reboot and go back, it just hangs on the game load so i can't get to it. Haven't tried other new games, but it sound similar to the post up above.

Cheers

Simmo!

If you have XP Service Pack 2 installed, this is likely to be the cause of the download problems, as the "helper" you are describing is the Active-X loader.

This is something Microgaming will obviously have to work on - but for BelleRock, what they could consider doing is changing to another download method which does not involve using the download helper, at least in the meantime. Your techs *should* know what that other method is, if not, they can ask some of their colleagues elsewhere who are still using this method.

The price for this advice - fix your affiliate program to be fair to all affiliates. Follow the lead of some of the other programs who have seen how unfair their changes were to affiliates and are reverting back to the previous contracts.

Banking not working again!!!

and now the banking in river belle isnt working again either.....

trying to withdraw by neteller......just hangs once you press the submit button.

even more galling is the fact that this is a reversed withdrawal which the CS admit "is for no reason they can see"......and follows their failure to award two of the loot pursuit promotions this month and when asked about this to claim via email "that they cannot see that I played on the dates given".......still waiting a further response to my reply to that one!!

Oh yeah and tried to download gaming club and got lucky nuggett......and wasnt awarded the happy mondays bonus for week 2....couldnt play week 3 cos of the download problem....

etc etc etc

this group really need to pull their act together as I am afriad that at the moment they are just one big hassle

Any progress? I'm still getting stuck at the deposit options, though admirably the helper's at least getting stuck downloading the correct casino! Wouldn't it be quite simple for you just to offer a normal file to download. That was the system before & still is at most MG casinos. The helper just seems like over sophistication, though I suppose you hope that the quicker you can get players to enter their details the less likely they are to have second thoughts.

It's also a real nuisance that the registration process with the helper doesn't check the registry to see if you've already played at the same casino - if you're going to persist with it could you at least ask Microgaming to add that feature. Otherwise players will have to hunt around for their details whenever they want to redownload a casino... or inadvertently open multiple accounts.

Hi All,

We are still looking for options and I hope to get this addressed shortly. I have got pressure on our developers. We have tested with XP service pack 1 and 2 and that does not seem to be the cause of the problem, but we will keep trying.

Little_issue, has your banking problem been resolved? If not please send me your details so that I can look into it.

Best regards,

Belle Rock

I havent a problem with downloading but problems with deposits in last days.
Not a big problem.Neteller deposits are instant but when I try to deposit riverbelle ,it credit to my account after about 10 minutes.may be it isa problem about neteller.

I've found on a couple of the BR casinos that when the box asking if you want to run the helper comes up, you can click NO and be taken to a download page with a link to click. That link will usually allow downloading the exe file, sometimes it just runs the helper again. Personally, since all MG software allows signup after installation, the helper should be scrapped.

if it helps, i'm on windows 98, my problems only started after the recent software updates.

although its the only one i have got working due to the fact that i have it permanetly installed is riverbelle, however that has started malfunctioning since the recent updates although it is still playable.

Success at last !!!!!!!!!!!

ive been messing around trying various things, i even ended up deleting my permanent install of riverbell, but that made things worse as i couldnt reinstall it

anyway at least that confirmed what we all knew, that theres nothing wrong with the download, but its the download process that is at fault.

for this reason the CD should work as your PC is taking downlaod straight from the disc and putting it on your harddrive, however if your like me, this doesnt work either.

anyway i noticed that even when your installing from the disc, your PC is still accessing the net/bellerock (why ? when your meant to be getting the files from the disc), i found that if you disconnect from the net, thus preventing your PC from connecting to whoever, Voila ! your PC succesfully installs all of the casinos from the disc with trouble.

the exact method i used is

configure your firewall to ask for permissions when your using the disc
disconnect your internet connection
put in the CD and run it
everytime your asked for pemission for connecting to something, click "yes"
choose casino and install it, it should work now!
after the wise wizard has finshed, you should get the "software loading...." bit
at this point you will be asked for permission to connect to the net again.
before clicking yes, you will need to reestablish your internet connection again

after this the casino should load up as normal and you shouldnt have anymore problems, i dont know if this will work for others, but has worked successfully for me today.

Progress?

I still haven't gotten my casino CD's. Must be sent by wagon train.

Today's new wrinkle. Logged into All Jackpots, which I only have the original four games that came when I installed it from the net. Suddenly instead of the Update Unavailable message it says click to install. However, when you click on the game to download it, you get a message that you can't connect to the download server. I have done nothing to my computer.

If Spear is right on the activeX thing... then there should be a yellowish toolbar just below your address bar which will give you the option to install activeX. That ill solve the problem if it's the case.
