Hi everyone
I've got a bit of an issue going on at videoslots and I'm wondering your opinions on this.
I have my own videoslots account that I've had for a few years. I'm not much of a slots player and use it every now and then.
One night I went round to my mates and we had a slots night at his. I logged in on his phone as he had to use it to use smart view which is a feature that projects your phone screen onto the television screen.
We had the night and that was it, I went home and thought no more about it.
This was around Feb/March.
Fast forward to today and I have checked my videoslots account and noticed deposits and withdrawals that I have not made. It turns out my friend discovered my details had been saved on his phone and he had been using the account to make deposits and withdraw. Upon checking I believe he has deposited around 4000 and withdrawn around 1000.
Videoslots had been taking his deposits off his own bank card for months and also processing withdrawals into his bank.
When I asked him about this he admitted he had used my account with no issues however he is now heavily in debt.
How can this possibly happen? After further digging he admitted he was also a member of gamstop and had previously self excluded from Videoslots!
Had I have known this I wouldn't have ever gone to his for a slot session and I wouldnt have used his phone either.
So due to them not checking his card I'm overcome with guilt as he is now heavily in debt.
What's your opinions on this please?

Strange set of events, and first off I'd not have said it's your fault, I mean if he'd never gambled prior to your visit he may have been a bit 'enamoured' with this appealing new vice, but that's not to say he can go around using other people's user details?

It may well have been the 'catalyst' to get him into gambling heavily but then it could just as easily happened in other circumstances - I got into slotting by accident whilst attempting to buy National Lottery tickets years ago!

And his actions are his own, if I shared food with someone am I responsible if they become obese? etc

More importantly, I'm perplexed as to how Videoslots would even sanction dual-user deposits, nevermind withdrawals. Where is their accountability in all this, because they may well have enabled someone to further their addiction when it needn't have even come to that. I thought casinos are tight on security measures in this 'enlightened & progressive' age......seems not

But really the icing on the cake for me has to be the Smart View application. Isn't that nifty! Amazing what companies think of these days!

I understand what you are saying and again I had no idea he was registered with gamstop, if I did know I would definitely not have suggested a slot session! Like you said how on earth have they even authorized a card not belonging to me? For deposits or withdrawals?

Hmm how did they verify the cards then? Do you have the same name?? Lol
No.

No not even similar! To be honest I remember a while back I was depositing on video slots and it’s was allowing me to deposit even if I didn’t enter the cv 3 digits of the back of the card?

Strange case.

I know of a similar tactic to play with no risk. Win & get paid --> stay quiet. Lose or have withdrawal denied --> complain and get deposits back. This was though donkeys ago, would be very surprising to see it still working today.

Not saying that it is the case here but the story has a lot of similarities.

How did he know your security code on the back of the card?
also if he’s ripped you off and you know this to be fact go around and confront him...
Edit: sorry, his card not yours...apologies.
Was just about to suggest Charles Bronson death wish tactics or mercenary services there.
as you where...

Another 'videoslots not carrying out proper verification' story, seen this a few times recently, however, usually worse than this.
Funny how they are shit hot on verification when you want your money, when a third party does, it seems to go through no issues.

He;s on Gamstop, Videoslots must have verified the customer details before withdrawing, so as it was a different name (presumably) they would have requested ID, address proof and proof of payment method. That should have been ran through the gamstop database, so I think he should ask for a refund of net deposits.

You can do a SAR and get all the ID etc he supplied.

It was his friends card not his, begging the obvious question, how was it verified for withdrawals to an account not in the account holders name.

I understand people having this view but I can assure you this is not the case. I just though it important people are aware this is or can happen. I have not asked for anything back.

This was a peaceful and genteel thread until you waded in with your death and destruction. That's just so typical of you

Yeah exactly, I could not get my own card verified to make a withdrawal on there a while back as it was a new card and they would not remove my old one

Don't beat yourself up - you've eclipsed your previous record. 24 hours without seeing your name in red
Don’t be goading playford on your return we have just got him back off his usual hiatus

regarding the op needs to discuss this withvideo slots unfortunately we live in an automated world and until something need verifying like a withdrawal that’s the only time things flag up which sometimes as yous all know is very convenient for some operators

They asked for nothing at all just took the money lol it’s crazy really. No security on deposit or withdrawal.

Forgive me here as I'm new to forums and didn't even realise that a slots forum exsisted until I searched in Google to see if a similar problem had happened! I'm not in the loop with slots and am very casual , I hardly ever play them so forgive me if I appear a bit stupid or don't quite follow everything here.

I have spoke to my friend and he is 100% certain that at no point was verification asked for when using his card and withdrawing any winnings into his bank account.
This was all done without my knowledge. His card is in his name and I am able to prove this

the reason I came here was just to see if this had happened before and judging by some response it seems quite common, how is this allowed? I had to go thru a vigorous verification process just to play on the site and somehow my friend has managed to get himself into debt over video slots not carrying out the same verification process
