Deposited £74.9k at VideoSlots while SE

Hi I'm seeking some advice on a dispute I have at VideoSlots after I deposited £74,950 over the course of a year while being both self-excluded for 5 years at VideoSlots (until 2021) and active on GAMSTOP.

I am a problem gambler and have been for many years. I self-excluded at VideoSlots along with many other sites and joined GAMSTOP in 2019. However, after watching a mixture of Bandit videos and others on YouTube I had the urge to play again.

I faced instant bans when I tried to join many sites, but VideoSlots allowed me to join and was shocked when I sent my passport, utility bill and bank statement in to be told in about six minutes I was approved. Long story short, I play within my means for many months with small deposits. However, by the end I was doing 5k a day and getting myself in big trouble.

I had savings, mostly from the sale of my grandmothers house and that is all gone now. I am around £19k in debt with the bank/credit cards. Thankfully the COVID-19 has brought me some time as they have held everything until August 2020 interest free (payment holiday). However, in August I face losing my flat and everything if I don't repay this.

I used 7 debit/credit cards and Trustly at VideoSlots. Each time they approved the documents on receipt. Sometimes my account was paused for audit but was passed each time. No source of wealth request.

VideoSlots have apologized to me both in writing and on the phone for their error in allowing me to open a second account while self-excluded locally and via GAMSTOP. How they missed my name, date of birth, passport number on their internal system upsets me. Also why they didn't question where the large deposits were coming from. I never lied on anything, my name was spelt correctly, age, date or birth etc.

Any help appreciated here and I thank you for this in advance.

They should refund you. After they beat you with a baseball bat for your own good. Did you ever withdraw anything at one point? I don’t believe for a second they didnt know about it when you were loosing 5k a day. You already know what you should do. Readbooks, run until you cant breathe or just do something with yourself. Gambling is not something you can do, enjoy or think about. I have no lesson to tell you. Nobody is perfect. But remember something very important my friend : your life will become worst if you dont stop now. Its probably impossible to figure at the moment but imagine if you stopped 3 months ago. It would be so great. If you dont, in 3 months it will be 140k and threats. In 1 year, 100k win on a play n go slot!!! No... Only happens in your dreams or the only time you deposited 20$ on a rogue casino site. Gambling. Not for you. Noooooo.

So have VS acknowledged in their written reply that they agree you were definitely self excluded when making all deposits of over 79k? What else do they say other than to apologise? Have you asked for a refund ? What did they say ? Have they have e mailed you or just the chat message?

If this is true I agree. Definitely best that OP raises a PAB.
I mean as long as they have signed up to videoslots with same name address DOB than they have with gamestop ect then they should be returned there overall lost, but if the OP changed some details to try and cheat the system so to speak then I think VS should not return hes losses

You guys really think they will return the losses? Hahahahhaha. Unless they risk to loose more if they dont, they wont return anything and still sleep pretty well. Imagines if their affiliates also lost their 3% cut.

As they wrote in e-mail that you used different signup details compared to the one you used at Gamstop its not possible to stop you due to that.

Best is you contact Team.Videoslots here and see what they can do for you.

Why is it funny to be optimistic ?

Reality. Casinos. Hypocrisy. Greed. Not funny.
Gambling is fun to a certain degree.
I enjoy it. But if we are all honest here, do you agree when I tell you that we are all miserable at different levels. I am not trying to blame anyone or shame players for anything they do or think. I just cant believe how much fairy tales you want to listen to before you realize that the reality is not what you like. Casinos make money on players. Being optimistic about this after a big casino like videoslots accepts almost 100k worth of deposits from a player that excluded himself with gamcare and even from the site itself is absurd. They would have kept going until the guy died starving. They will figure out a way to keep a profit, save their ass and still be a profitable and respected casino. This is usual buisness but the majority of these incidents wont be heard by anyone. So yeah, sorry for my opinion on that. A casino is like your drug dealer. If you can manage your doses and believe you are in control, its all good. You have fun, he makes money and life goes on. When you tell him you have a problem a year later, sorry but he knew. He wont refund you if he doesnt have to. And being optismistic about it is insane.

The problem with Gamstop is that if you dont keep your details up to date on Gamstop is not possible to know for the casino if player is registered with them or not. Like in this case. If you try to cheat the system its very easy to do unfortunately.

OP is also referring to how much he deposited, not how much he lost and that is rare in cases like this.

I dont have any right to contact users about their personal user id from my private account. That is why I referred him to @Team.Videoslots.

However, if player been self-excluded and manage to play without purposely trying to cheat the system, he will for sure receive his losses back. It do happens that system fails and in all those cases player always get refund.

But reading the answers from VS which user posted. It looks like he used different details when signing up. Then Gamstop will not work and that is not VS fault, that is something between him and Gamstop.

But I dont know anything about this case and what the issue is, so better wait for Team.Videoslots to respond to understand better.

Gamstop lol. Change a letter in your adress and it doesnt work. This ridiculous issue would be fix by anyone with half a brain unless everybody is happy with it. Gamblers that register there cant trust themselves so in a desperate gesture, they write their details on this shameful list so maybe one day they get help by being stopped before losing their life playing slots. But wait, later on... if you move to a different adress, it doesnt work anymore. If you do change hair color the system doesnt work anymore. If you pinch you nose hard enough, 200% deposit bonus wager x50 max cashout x10 with code GAMLOL

Your Responsibility
You understand that self-exclusion using GAMSTOP is intended to be an aid to help you manage your use of online gambling websites. It is not intended to function as a replacement for willpower, is not foolproof and we cannot guarantee that it will always result in your being denied access to gambling websites.

Your self-exclusion using GAMSTOP will be most effective if you do not try to work around the exclusion measures GAMSTOP has put in place. You agree not to attempt to register new gambling accounts, log in to any of your existing accounts, or in any other way try to circumvent GAMSTOP's mechanisms for the duration of your self-exclusion. You are entirely responsible for any actions you take designed to circumvent any self-exclusion registered with GAMSTOP.

Oh great. And made 50k worth of withdrawals? Can I retroactively selfexclude from any online casinos for the last 10 years? Not casinocasino though. Mostly bet365, unibet, probably everum, every softswiss obviously. Would appreciate a house with ocean view instead of wasting time with bank delays. Me getting mad at casinos with the usual gamblers bs. Please erase me from the internet, retroactively. Betvictor style.

There seems to be bits missing from the OP, I'm guessing a change of address happened at some point.
It does also seem to suggest he excluded at Videoslots directly at some point, which normally would make me think he should be refunded and Videoslots (or any other casino) were in the wrong, but in this case, it wasn't picked up on any withdrawal (of which there seems to have been plenty), nor on Enhanced KYC which suggests whatever change was made was significant enough for the accounts not to be linked.
Will be interesting to see if the OP comes back and what details were actually different to his first account and/or gamstop.
