Has anyone had any bonus offers at Unibet since BONUSMAGEDDON?

Earlier in the month Unibet sent me an email and six (count 'em) messages about 'big improvements' that were coming to the site on the 18th April. (I read three of the six, they are indeed all the same.)

The new single wallet that works across all the lobbies is indeed very welcome, so kudos on that.

There was also explicit mention of bonuses, specifically:

And we know how much you like bonuses, so there is also a brand new 'Bonus' section within your 'My Account' page. You'll be able to see all the bonuses available and choose the ones you want, plus check how you're doing in your active bonuses. But remember they won't be automatically active - you'll have to opt in to each bonus.

Well, since the 18th April I have received a grand total of zero bonus offers, and I've been checking the bonus offers page daily.

Of course I realise bonuses are entirely at the casino's discretion, and indeed I've been happy to play bonus-free at Unibet since I took the SUB over a year ago (and bust out on it), plus I'm very happy with Unibet on the whole (great selection of games and very quick payouts) - I just find it odd that they made a big point of promoting their new bonus structure in advance via both email and onsite messaging, and then proceed to offer me no bonuses whatsoever.

Anyone else fared better than me?

no no & no , just to make it even after being kicked from games so many times today ive closed the account , never had some many problems with servers on any gaming in years , sort it out unibet or your be losing even more players

I looked at my bonus offers..zero offers, not even a SUB ..but then, I don't know if us Canadians even qualify for any

Same here. I even started a thread about it 2 days ago, no mention of any SUB on the main page. Wish the Unibet rep here would be a bit more active TBH.

yeah, 6 days since his last pop in...would be nice to know the heads-up

I asked on chat a couple of days ago if there were any SUBs for UK players as I could see no promos on their web page. They advised to come back in a couple of weeks due to some "big improvements", I asked for some further info but they didn't divulge...

Not much better on the danish unibet gotten 4 offers this year and took none, 2x 75kr after wagering 1500kr, and then 2x 100% up to 75kr both totally crap.

But else i cant complain they pay as promised everytime and never a problem.

Oh they definitely tick the main box, which is of course paying withdrawals quickly and without a fuss. (They're usually under 90 minutes although sometimes (and with no apparent pattern that I can discern) it's an overnight thing instead.)

It just seems strange to make a big deal of your new upcoming bonus arrangements, and then not offer anyone any bonuses.....

TBH since I started playing at Unibet I've got used to playing without bonuses and it does have a lot going for it, since you can just stop playing and cash out whenever you want - but sometimes it's nice to have a bonus to extend play time.

Don't think I have had a single offer except for the SUB, I more or less stopped playing there and switched to their "sister site" Maria Casino, and have gotten some good bonus-offers from them.

They seem very alike, I have the same slots availble, interface is much the same and payouts are even labeled "unibet" when they arrive in my account :)
I have no idea if maria casino has the recent wms slots or how they play if they do, as wms is not available to Danish players (yet?).
[EDIT] actully by checking the .com site of maria casino I see that they do have the wms slots (wish I never checked, depressing to see so many nice games that I cant play :( )

It seems to me that Unibet is 95% focused on the sports-betting and poker when it comes to promotions, while Maria Casino seems to focus it's promotions on the slots.

This is just my experience, no idea if it would be the same for others.

lol, doesnt look like I'll be depping with Unibet anyway, just got an email response about my ID..apparently what's good enough for JetBull, Bet365, WilliamHill, Nordic, Maxino, 32Red, GoWild and a dozen others isn't good enough for them

I was 100% there was a rule in there T&C to not have account at unibet and maria casino, defently gonna look into that one thanks sk0t cause looking at maria sometimes it seems like alot better casino offers, and i dont care about sports and poker.

Let's consider this for a while. Just based on my own experiences, and surely the casinos too (maybe reps can add something here?) has it occurred to anyone this may be a seasonal thing? The biggest markets for most we play on are Europe followed by N.America. During the long dark winters in those places we spend more time indoors and not in the garden or on holiday, so it figures their play could be higher at these times, plus people have more cash at those times if not going outside or on holiday.
This may explain the deluge of bonuses we often get in the winter and casinos being eager to get their share of this revenue. Assuming there is some foundation to what I have considered here, then this could explain the dearth of bonuses at the moment. If revenues are any lower then the casinos' margins for bonus provision could be tighter. Anyone?

Hmm, I read through the Danish language T&C's and did not notice anything like that, just re-read it and still dont see a term about that.

But bonuses are generally EV- or EV neutral at best, a 35xB WR would be comfortably in the casino's favour but at the same time at least they'd have some bonus offers on the books.

At a 95% RTP a WR of 20xB is EV neutral, admittedly a lot of the slots at Unibet pay higher than that (WMS 96%, Netent 95-98% etc), but that can easily be countered by putting a substantial enough WR on the bonus.

Hi all,

I ll have someone look into this since I am personally hardly involved in bonuses anymore. Do send me a PM though if you want quick answers since I don`t always have the time to hang around here but I do try and answer as many as your questions as possible.

It is not a problem to have an account on both Maria and Unibet. It does become a problem if you self exclude on any of them since at that moment in time, you are NOT allowed anymore to have an account on the sister site.

What I can tell you though is that some changes have indeed already been made and a complete overhaul of the bonus system is on the way. Bonuses are completely in the hands of the marketing guys and it is at their discretion how bonuses are being distributed.

Regards

Dave

my ohip (you guys dont have them)
I don't drive and havent been out of country since 2001..I'm too old for an age of majority..it's the same ID I've used since I first started playing online and use for bars, liquor stores, the bank, and every casino going

lol, actually, we have a complicated license procedure
it's really moot though, I'm not about to go out and get a license to play at one casino..if their standards are higher than everyone else's, I'll play elsewhere

I got same problem, Unibet, locked my account for verifying (a year ago), and i sent them , passport scan, a bill, and neteller screen shot, but they again asked for my tax return form, they have no business in my tax return IMO and never going to get that. FYI when every other casino out there have accepted my documents i dont see why unibet want to dig in my tax return, make no sense.

Couldn't you just get a provisional driving licence? That would still be photo ID.

(Assuming you guys have provisional driving licences.)

from unibet email: 1. A copy of your ID (your government–issued ID card, passport, full driver’s license). Please note: provisional driving licenses are not accepted

How bizarre, certainly here on the IOM they're government issued photo ID, same as a full driving licence.

What the hell? That's even worse than the dreaded notarized documents.

Soon casinos will ask for fingerprints and nude pics of our wives.

lmfao, Somewhere right now, I can envision reps (cough, no names) going 'hmm, could we get away with that?' :D

Lol - I have no wife so may have to ask to borrow nude pics of yours !!

On a serious note why on earth would a casino ask for a tax return??- I would really like the rep to comment on that. Totally bizarre and unjustified. Perhaps I could do a deal if they complete my tax return and do all the leg work - they can view it !

Tax affairs are a private matter. NO business (other than your employer) should be asking for your tax return details.

Why not?

The ONLY difference between the two is a qualification to drive unaccompanied, both are equal when it comes to verifying ID. It shuts the door on players who apply for a drivers license in order to have a photo ID, rather than intending to drive.

Casinos are going to suffer in the long run because there are potential customers who can never play. One MAJOR group being excluded by this policy is pensioners. They have much more spare time, and often more spare MONEY if they have been careful and have a decent pension. What they often give up at a "certain age" is their driving license, often they feel ill equipped to cope on the crowded roads of today, or it is taken off them because they are deemed unfit through age related conditions to carry on driving. They often have to give up foreign travel because many insurance companies deem anyone over 70 "too old to travel", so will either not insure them at all, or the premiums are so high that they are deterred.

Perhaps casinos currently feel that they have enough customers from other groups, so don't need to make arrangements to service these potentially excluded groups. Eventually, they will see it as a problem, and this will be as the industry matures and "runs out of new customers", much like the mobile phone and internet industry, who now target the existing customers of their competitors rather than a pool of customers who have never had a mobile phone or an internet connection.

Even the politicians are wary of the power of the "grey vote", and we now see pensioners getting better deals from government whereas in the past it was seen as less important to gain the "grey vote".

As for Unibet, it seems they have created an expectation among players, but failed to deliver. They have switched off the old perks but not brought the new ones online, creating a long vacuum which is neither the old nor the new. As this is clearly not an "improvement", the longer it takes to bring on the new, the more customers will lose interest and start to look elsewhere.

For ID issues, having got a passport, it is probably worth renewing it every 10 years even if there is no intention to travel. I always send my drivers license, but I have a passport from 2006 when I went abroad twice (at the expense of casinos, a prize and VIP invite). I intend to renew it in 2016 even if I don't have plans to go abroad. It gives me a back up ID as well as the means to accept a prize or invite involving foreign travel at short notice.

I know the government are concerned about allowing "unauthorised persons" making copies of our passports, but in the online world, this is the only way to "show" our passport as proof of ID. In the real world, we can "show" it, but should not let a copy be made. We should not hand it over as a "deposit" or "surety" either, something that came out of a number of "incidents" in popular holiday destinations where bent hotel staff and "beach craft hire" companies misused passports to make it easier for organised crime to generate fakes and clones.

If the government don't trust a Spanish hotel, I can't see them trusting an online casino to have a JPEG of our passports emailed to them, yet so far this has not been something the government have issued a statement about:confused:

It makes me think the politicians have absolutely no idea of how this industry verifies it's customers, maybe assuming that it is all OK because they are mostly based within the EU (but so is the Spanish hotel industry).

Just a kudos to Dave; he got back to me letting me know my docs and ID were accepted and I'm good for WDs...apparently it more an issue of the CSR not recognizing the ID (he called it my donor card lol) and speaking out of school as it were. It was approved and all's fine on the home front.

Note to newbies: another reason to pm the rep..CRS are just front line and dont always have the right answers and why the forum has reps

Front line CSR should NOT be dealing with such matters in any case, they are not sufficiently skilled. What if they failed to spot an obvious fake ID through wrongly recognising it as valid, and the operator suffered losses.

They should pass it on to the cashiers or security team, who should be skilled enough to tell the difference between a donor card and a proper ID.

They should not RELY on a forum rep to do basic CS for customers because their front line team have screwed up.

Slightly off topic from the title of the thread but about the security checks for withdrawals mentioned.

I had an account with Unibet up until last month.I never withdrew there over many deposits and in the end I kinda spat the dummy and self excluded myself for 6 month.Regret it ,just a rush of blood at the time.

Two weeks ago I decided to join Maria Casino after seeing them advertised and I wanted some WMS slots to play.I registered without problem, deposited twice a total of £80 and was playing for half an hour when suddenly my account locked mid spin.I contacted support (10 days ago) and they told my that Maria are run my Unibet and because I excluded there in turn I have excluded at Maria.

That was fair enough, that's my fault I should have been more aware.I asked what happens with the £80 I had deposited or the £70 balance and when it will be returned. They sent me an email on the following Monday asking for me to send the documents copy of i.d,bank statement with my account number and sort code visible and a copy of my debit card front and back.

I thought this was a bit extreme asking for all this, usually in the case of self exclusion the money should be returned to the method it was deposited and that was a debit card.I queried why they needed my bank details but its there policy to return it to a bank account, never gave a reason why.

So I sent all the documents driving licence, front and back of debit card and print of bank statement. That was last Tuesday and today I received an email that my driving license had to be resent as it was cropped ,I looked at it and its about 1mm round the edge missing due to the scanner but all the information is visible.

Why do these things have to take so long and have to be so anal.I'm only getting my own money returned at the end of the day and will be lucky to see it this week.

It's a case of guilty until proven innocent.

This is a problem with scanners, they don't scan anything outside of the area of the document, and sometimes this results in a slight cropping. A digital camera would not have this problem, and some surrounding background can be retained when preparing the image for sending.

If you have it, try the "preview" option to see what the scanner thinks should be included. It should allow manual adjustment of the boundary if the scanner tries to crop a mm or two off the document. I had this problem on my scanner, but I was able to expand the boundary under "preview" to fix the cropping issue. It seems the problem is more likely when the document is printed on a white(ish) background, the same colour of the scanner lid that holds the document in place. This would be the case for most paper documents, and some ID cards.

Thanks. I will have a play about with the scanner to see if the settings have changed but I never had this problem until I updated the driving license card weirdly, maybe thats just a coincidence.

I solved it earlier by putting a dark piece of paper over the license and it looks fine now.Hopefully it gets accepted.

Another weekend sails by without so much as a sniff of a bonus offer from Unibet, that's four weekends and nearly one full month since the SUPER NEW LOOK BONUS STRUCTURE went live.

Has anyone else had one single offer?

no but i sent them a bonus offer close my account ) cant see how you play there as im always getting kicked from server

No bonus (other than the welcome bonus that was manually credited by the rep here, thanks).

I received this curious email from them a couple of days ago, try not to laugh:

It's a bit funny isn't it? It sounds like my account was loaded with tons of different bonuses but since I wasn't receiving the newsletter, I couldn't know. There was nothing available in my account when I logged in, of course. I wish the rep here would explain exactly what's going on and how much longer it will take to fix it.

The problem I have with the whole thing is they've deliberately set player expectations and then expressly failed to meet them.

I've no issue whatsoever with a casino not offering me bonuses, that's entirely at their discretion. (Although it's easy enough to make them EV- so that they don't represent giving money away.) What narks me is they trumpeted the new bonus structure to me via both email and messages at the site, and yet four weekends down the line I haven't been offered one single penny's worth of a bonus.

I'd much rather they simply hadn't bothered with the whole thing, or at least targeted it at players they were actually going to offer bonuses to (assuming anyone has been offered a bonus.....).

Hi Balthazar,

normally, this kind of mails is being sent if you did not opt in to receive any of our offers. Its merely an informative mail and it doesn`t specify at all that you personally would have received all of those offers. Its actually a very general note.
So before I start digging into this, can you tell me if you actually did change your settings after you received this mail ?

Kind regards,

Dave

Hi Dave,

Is there anything to come bonus wise for the rest of us? We all seem to have got the marketing messages, but from the feedback in this thread it would appear that not one single person has received one single bonus offer!

Thanks :)

Hi Dave,

Yes, I changed my settings so now I receive your newsletter (although I don't think I'd have missed the bonuses). The problem isn't the newsletter though, it's the fact that there's no bonus available for anyone.

spotted that in casino red there is an active rewards section, not sure how long its been there,
You do not have permission to view link Log in or register now.
nothing too amazing at lower levels but free spins, and the ability to convert points to cash, better than nothing though :)

I can't find this on unibet.com, maybe it's only working on the co.uk page?

Can Unibet Rep clarify this?

I have asked support many times about this because I am a player at Unibet since 2001 and I can't even guess how much Money I've spend there.:eek2:

Hi,

yes, for the time being, this is only for UK customers but it is obviously our intention to roll this out for all markets. As with all new things though, we like to run it on just one or 2 countries first to see how it goes and once we sorted out the little things which can`t always be tested, other countries will follow.

Hi all,

too many questions to answer everyone with a quote so I ll try to summarise a bit in here :

Canadian players, no you are not worth less than UK or any other players for that matter and you should also benefit from new and existing bonus offers. As is becoming very clear from this topic however, we have done a few changes in the way we reward our customers and the latest change has gone live today for UK customers only (for the time being). As with so many new things, some changes are good, others not so good and some issues still need to be worked upon.
Unfortunately, it seems (and I am still trying to get to the fine details of this) it is possible that Canadian players are not getting their sign up bonus. Should anyone experience any issues with this, do not hesitate to PM us on this forum. As some of you can confirm, we do hand out bonuses if something went wrong in the signing up stages.
As to future bonuses, this is so marketing specific that it is impossible to give a straight forward reply on this one. Yes, some of you will get bonuses and others don`t. Marketing guys always set out certain criteria to hand out bonuses and sometimes its your turn to get a bonus and the next time its someone else.
Having said that, when you launch a new tool, there always has to be a transition period so the bonuses from one tool need to fase out and the new ones can get activated. So it is possible that some of you have received less bonuses than what you were used to but that should change again.

As to changing settings, this does make all the difference. If during sign up, you opt out of receiving e mails, you will also not receive any offers. So Balthazar, from now one, you should be fine.

If there is anything else I missed, please let me know and I ll try and answer you.

But thanks all for your comments. It does help to improve our offers and rest assured that Canadians are not being forgotten :)
