I've always loved Christmas, and even though the actual day is spent solo now, I still love the season.

When I was a kid, we toured off to my mom's sisters place, complete with all her brothers and sisters and my cousins.

I think I was about 9,and my cousins Gary and John got new Skidoos for Xmas. They lived on the top of a steep hill, and took me and my younger brother out for ages. Cousins Steve and Bill and Sandra all got turns to drive as they were older, and were good enough to run me and my brother Paul around too! As usual, there was turkey and gravy and all the fixings, Aunt Ruth's famous butterscotch pie, and marathon dealer's choice poker after plates were cleared and dishes were done.

Somehow there's nothing quite like Christmas in the country, where a clear sky and a million stars light the snowy fields.

Part 25 - Quickspin

End verdict: "you need a whole lot on the screen to get a win equal to your bet, you need a whole lot more to have something countable and a whole wagon load to have a good win"

With slots having 5OAK's top symbol paying 1.5 or 2x bet you might understand why. Play other providers if you are looking for 200+ wins as Quickspin hardly has the potential.

Best win was 105x bet in Free Spins on that awful "The Three Musketeers", Reel 2,3,4 wild and it barely went past 50x bet, the rest to the 105x bet came then from smaller wins....... Geez, did i get stuck on that one as i wanted to see all 3 reels wild and it cost me dearly before recovering to 90% of my deposits.

In essence QS is low-variance but quite a few slots behave HV-like although there is hardly the potential to pay such huge wins to make up for the losses, that you incur in the meantime.`Worst example was Dragon Shrine - went to $2 bets with a $254 balance and it was gone just after passing 150 spins. RTP in single figure area. Understandable if the slot has the potential for big wins but DS just doesn't.

They still got some medium scores because of the good graphics and animations as well as the range of bonus features they have.

Needless to say, there won't be one making it on to my "new favorites" list.

If I am totally honest I really do not know how this provider gets away with such piss poor pay tables.

Some may argue variance but the chance of actually making anything worthwhile or substantial on their whole catalog is limited.

The only way I can see these paying off is if someone one day drops in does one £10 spin and hits a screen of wilds / top symbols and never goes back.

Either that of the ultimate low roller who is happy to sit there collecting 5 - 10x wins all year

Part 26 - Lightning Box

Terrible, no...actually worst day at the office.

I was quickly down over 1K by the time i realized that these slots have even less potential of high wins than Quickspin. On top, all the games, where i increased my bets, would take a massive nose dive with countless times 20+ spins without a single winning spin and that on 1024- and 1296-liners, see slot number 9.

The last kick in the butt came on Lost Temple which for some strange reason does not have a 0.01 denomination. Was playing on the 0.02 at 5 coins = $2, wasn't going well, thought i'd lower the bet to $1. The "down arrow" was active, clicked on it once and re-started 50 Autospins. 3 spins wiped off my balance as i was betting $200 a pop. Very misleading from LB. The down arrow should be what it means, not that you can toggle through all bet sizes.

Since the slot did not have 0.01$ it went on to the highest denomination @ 5 coins which led to the $200 bets. Needless to say that they of course paid nothing.

The slot i lost most has 8 reels whereas the middle 4 act as a giant 3rd reel with 16 positions, meaning if you get 2 symbols on Reel 1&2 and the middle box full of the same symbol and/or Wilds you have countless 3OAK, should be 256. Target is to get a Full Block of Wilds in the Free Spins. Got it once pretty early and it paid "ZILCH" as none of the symbols on Reel 1&2 matched. From here on it went steeply downhill. 1367 spins to the next bonus round which gave indeed again the block and added 9 's in the front and none at the back, meaning i won some 60$ on a 5$ bet, and that after 2K in losses.

Stay away from LB is my advice, slots look good and play well, but hell, those pays are so low that the BIG WIN celebrations start at less than 5x bet.

On Astro Cats and Blazing Goddess the bet size is an average of what i had during all spins, sizes were $2-5.

This also means that my budget for this week is gone, hence the marathon will have to wait again. Also i am slightly gutted, to put it mildly, that i got bluntly declined when i asked for some support on the high losses. Proves me right again, unfortunately --> at the end of the day you are on your own, casinos will drop you like a stone exactly when you most would need some help. That is psychological warfare, they know that most gamblers can't stand to lose and will return in the hope to win some back. Well, not me, in contrary, i will stop depositing at VS for a few months and $50K in deposits/year will have to find now a new destination. Simple!!!
Will finish the marathon though as i am a man of my word. Got some $500 in CB and Race stuff coming in on Friday this and next week as well as Monday and will go through the last providers but it will be all at minimum bet or just above to qualify for the race points.

The main object here is that be increase, That is a serious breacth of players protection / responsible gaming, On the providers part, Remember VS has a max bet in place.

They should get rid of any company that does the increase bet size instead of decrease lol until they sort it.

I only play Angels Touch from this provider as I have had some huge wins on this slot and it does have some great potential when you select all multipliers and wilds during free spins, I must say it was a long time ago that I hit that one, think it was around 3K with 1.5 bet (2000x).

Now do us all a favour and set the max bet option on VS active mate. I have personally set it to £2 because I never play higher stakes than that. Set it to what you're comfortable with so you can't make the same mistake again doing stupid size bets in error!

As to feeling let down when you need a casino most, thankfully VS came good with that. But I know the feeling mate. Last year when I was in profit I got showered with all kinds to keep me playing (in the hope I lose it all back). This year, when I am down - nothing, just when you need VIP bonuses to keep you going and try to recover some of the losses.

I can see it from the casinos point of view but from a players point of view it is irritating and you kind of feel had by the casino. After a big losing session, the last thing you want to hear is that you get some race money or cashback because you get this even when you are on a winning session. I wouldn't call it compensation for losses.

My best and most enjoyable Xmas was about 2 years ago before my mum got dementia.

She used to cook and bake all the Hungarian cakes and dishes for Xmas. She made it very special for everyone and I will never have the same Xmas again.

She would slave over the stove all day long, we helped of course but she loved doing it. Always used to have a great family Xmas and she was so funny and smart. I miss her even though she is still here but not really here anymore.

This year we will still have a great Xmas because family and friends all get together at the same time and its beautiful

Well, i wish i would have better news.

End Verdict about iSoftBet: utterly and totally crap!

A few things i need to get off my chest:

- to my knowledge casinos are testing these games before they take them into their catalogue. How on earth can they let some of these games, not just iSoftBet, go live is a total mystery to me. How can they have a clear and happy conscience to allow such games going public? They are not entertaining, no good pays, no good features, no nothing in fact other than eating your balance without any chance whatsoever of a recovery. With MG or Netent i at least know i can hit something in the 100-500X range or have a few bonus rounds in quick succession to recover.

A few examples to explain why the above:

- did some maths and in general on about 95% of the iSoftBet games if you are more than 100X bet in the red your chances of recovery just to the starting balance, not winning, is 1:10,000's. You need to be lucky enough to hit the bonus rounds at about 5x your normal bet to actually just about break even now and then.
- a few game experiences:
--> Dolphin's Island and Happy Birds - nearly to the T similar spinning.... these are numbers for Happy Birds, spin results would look like this: 5c, 5c, 0, 0, 0, 0, 5c, 10c, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 20c, 0, 0, 0, 0, 5c, 40c, 5c, 10c, 0, 0, 0, 0, etc. In 100 spins i had 7 spins paying more than the bet!!! on a 243-liner!!!
--> disgustingly low pays - 5OAK major symbols = 2 - 3x bet, low symbols = 0.4 - 1x bet ...and it is not like they are hitting all the time, nope, you will not see them more often than on other games which have 30, 50 or 100x bet for a major 5OAK.
--> Musketeer looked like there was potential - 1-5 random expanding and spreading wilds in base game and sticky in FS. Expanding and spreading to 3 reels only happened on reels 3-5 with either nothing on Reel 1+ 2 or the lowest symbols. In free spins the major symbols and the random wilds went AWOL. Payout for 2FS rounds (180 spins apart) was about 2x bet, see screen shot below. BTW, 1.25 of the result was from a win on the spin which gave the FS.
- all 9-liners would go 20-30 at a time with not a single pay, nothing, nada, not even 3x 10 which would pay 0.5xbet
- Illusion2 looked like potential too but just to get 1 reel wild in FS seemed impossible. The reason i recovered there was the fact that i was lucky enough to double my bet and hit FS on the 3rd spin and 5 spins later again. Without that i would have never made it back to my starting balance
- all iSoftBet games have lag when it will show 2 scatter, meaning the spin doesn't stop for about 2-5 seconds, then you see scatter 1, 2 and the 3rd never hits. Only when you see 2 scatters on a lag free spin will it be 100% Free Spins.
- localized jackpots: asking for $2.50 or $1.50 bets for a jackpot of a few hundred dollars is absolutely ridiculous.

Personally, i will not touch any iSoftBet game ever again, i rather donate the money to a charity or even throw it out of the window, just to be sure that i won't be giving it to a company which is not worth being called game provider.

But it felt sickening..

I would fully understand if some would be offended (is maybe the wrong word but i can't find a better one at the moment) by my reporting or think it is just made up. I would like to highlight that it is purely my personal opinion about the games and they probably can deliver some results once in a while. Anyway, here is a screenshot of the last iSoftBet that i just played on, that reflects how the games are running in general. Look at the numbers pointed with the arrow.

2 pays in first 32 spins, 1x 0.5 bet + 1x 1.2x bet, and this has happened on about 60% of all iSoftBet that i tried. That is just abysmal because you are straight from the start on the back foot to just recover back to the starting balance. Whether you get then a bonus round which brings you back a little is irrelevant, just think i play this slot with $6/spin, that is 200$ gone in 2 minutes.
