I don't understand how a person can believe they're being manipulated and still be manipulated.
When a woman answers a chat box do you think "Oh, great, a woman. I can't afford this."
When she offers you a bonus do you struggle in your mind? "Say no. She might be cute. You don't want it. She has boobs. Don't take it. Sex sex sex."
"I'll take it." (Sigh.)
I do admit people are more likely to feel sorry for children. In fact if they aren't there's something wrong with them. I buy every piece of crap that people bring into work that their children are selling for school or whatever organization they belong to. It doesn't matter if it's their father or mother selling it to me. Chocolate bars for 6 times what they cost in the store. "Fine, fine. Give me one."
I was walking out of the grocery store a while back and some little boy scout was selling apples.
He says "Would you like to buy an apple?"
I say "Why are you selling apples?"
He says "We're raising money for a trip."
I say "How much are they?"
He says "You can pay what you want."
I say "Well, where the hell were you when I was paying for this basket of groceries?"
The kid just stared at me.
I say "I don't eat apples. What else you got?"
He says "We only sell apples."
I say "I don't even know what an apple is worth. What's an apple worth?"
He shrugs his shoulders.
I say "I tell you what. I'll give you two bucks and you eat the apple."
He says "OK."
So I give him two bucks and say "Make sure it's a nice one though. Two bucks seems like a lot of money for a bloody apple."
Now if this was a man or a woman standing there selling apples I wouldn't have even stopped.
