Resolved Casinofriday's license is false, trouble for Finnish players

Hi to all,

I want to publicize the casinofriday scam regarding Finnish players.

I created an account on their site because all Finnish partners advertise their Estonian license, which I consider reliable from a Finnish perspective.

The screenshot below was taken at the same time when I created an account for them at the casino and in that sense we are promoting Estonia, the text is in Finnish and the translation is in English:

"1Up Services (CY) Ltd. offers its services with an online gambling license granted by the Estonian Tax and Customs Board for an indefinite period. License number: HKL000359 & HKT000059. The identification number of the game provider in question is HE409378 and its address is Avlonos, 1 Maria House, 1075 Nicosia, Cyprus. The company in question operates the website casinofriday.com. The operator's e-mail address is support-fi@casinofriday.com"



After contacting their customer service, I found out that they do not operate under an Estonian license, but they have a Curacao license, which there was no mention of on the website before, only information about the Estonian license.

Their Finnish partners advertise a tax-free Estonian license, although in reality they do not operate under an Estonian license, but under a Curacao license, this can lead to problems with the tax authorities in the event of a large profit.

I have not received an answer from the company as to why they have deliberately cheated Finnish players for a long time.

They have changed their site and today there is no mention of the Estonian license, only a link at the bottom of the page that leads to the Estonian business register, which has nothing to do with the site.

they have knowingly presented the information of the wrong license on their website and the correct license has not been mentioned, as shown in the pictures I sent.

Many Finnish players decide where they play based on the license, the Estonian license is considered safer than Curacao, and the winnings are tax-free in casinos under the Estonian license.

when a Finnish player goes to the website of the Estonian Tax and Customs Board, which has a list of operators operating under their license:

And click on the www.casinofriday.com link, it leads the Finnish player to the casinofriday.com/fi-fi site, which has no connection to the Estonian license, so they have made a direct transfer to a different site for Finnish IP addresses.



And when I created the account myself, that link led me directly to the page where only the Estonian license was mentioned, so no mention of curacao in any form:



This is what I mean by cheating.

If Finns play at casinos running outside the EEA, then there is something to do with taxes on gambling winnings. I guess here reckons that CasinoFriday has just Curacao licence which is outside the EEA territory.

However, i see that 1UP Services (CY) Limited is among the legal gambling operators on Estonia's list. So nothing to worry about taxes, i assume.

They deliberately mislead Finns.

Second, the top image shows their correct license information, which they recently changed.

Before this, they have deliberately misled customers, which I think is very questionable behavior.

In my experience Casino Friday has not been a "cheating" operation so yeah, probably an administrative mess with the license but unless there is some evidence of player's actually suffering loss or suchlike I think that saying they are "cheating" Finnish players is not justified here.

Even if is is "questionable" -- and the reasons are TBD -- where is the "cheating"? Where is the "scam"? So far these seem like unjustified accusations.

"Cheating" is running rigged games or putting players in a free-roll situation where their deposits are taken but winnings can't be withdrawn. A "scam" is more of the same. Where is that level of rogue behaviour here? I don't see it.

A scam is a dishonest or fraudulent scheme that attempts to take money or something of value from people. It is a confidence trick that dishonest groups, individuals, or companies perform. The person who carries out a scam is a scammer, trickster, or swindler.

Where is the theft? Who is being tricked out of money or suchlike?
Dishonest, maybe. Stupid mistake, probably. Misleading, very much so. But none of those is a "scam".

That fi-fi is just a domain extension, which basically means that the root (casinofriday.com) has a specific country version of the website, but still, the root is its main version, similar to those other gambling operators in Estonia.

If you visit a website that has different languages, their system recognizes your browser language and IP address and then sends you to a version that is based on these parameters.

As an example, try visiting unibet.com or unibet.ee and you'll be sent to your Finnish version.

Honestly, i wouldn't worry about that, but see what CasinoFridy says anyway.

If they had no license, then I doubt that the official Estonian website would include a listing and link to Casino Friday. So it could be a technical error or whatever - but the ones making this error (if indeed a license no longer exists), then it's on the licensing agency. Not the casino.

Unless the casino has confiscated winnings, sold players' ID, hacked bank accounts, there is no scam or theft in my opinion. Those are scams (as Max has also described above). And thievery is an over the top insinuation.

Saying people are being mislead on purpose is false since you don't know all sides of the equation. Don't make baseless assumptions. This is a serious discussion and it should not be littered with aggressive accusations. Thank you.

I would ask Casinofriday for a comment on the matter and an answer in which country you can play under an Estonian license on their website, because the information was found on the Estonian tax and customs website.

I reckon, they added the link to the EE Tax Office just for you the Finnish players to see that they're a licensed gambling operator within the EU/EEA. Since in Finland, you have that tax-free thing going on all the time.
