Anyone tried giving up ?
I didnt have any withdrawal symptoms at all rly for the 1st couple of weeks but now I am craving it and I have a slight headache , low motivation , difficulty concentrating etc . Sure it could be something else but I think it s the lack of caffeine because I kind of know if I had a drink of cola it would make it all better right now :p
I was a cola drinker (and the occasional energy drink) and playing poker at nights / early morning it was def an integral part of my daily routine . Even tho cola only has a quarter of the caffeine that is in coffee I feel like I was taking in caffeine so regularly day in and day out that my body/brain has got used to working with that . So when I stopped I didn't experience any strong withdrawals but it's more like long term my body is saying ok you've had your detox so where is the caffeine we need to work properly  because most stuff Ive read says withdrawals are worst in the first 48 hours and then they taper off over the next week but for me Im just seeming to rly feel the effects of withdrawal several weeks in

Crikey, Tweek in South Park was based on me, I have 6-10 cups a day and look forward to a cup as soon as I'm up...

i can go up to 30 - and i drink from ridiculous sized mugs :eek2: - ive pissed clear 10 years running

never, till they ban it which they will cause coffee beans are sentient and we hurt there feelings.

I can give up coffee no problem i do it every day.

Come midnight i stop taking it and that's me till about 6 in the morning.

Then i probably drink at least 10 cups a day lol and each cup is probably strength of 2 cups.

And i wonder why i have trouble sleeping lol.

But in all seriousness i wonder what state i would be in if i gave it up. Probably be easier to give up fags than coffee but aint going to do that either lol.

Used to consume gallons of the stuff daily, to go with every work kitchen area housing one of them huge Nescafe tubs for people to get high on :eek2:

I think 8-10 cups per day would be 'the norm', out of habit more than anything. Coupled with Pro Plus in my casino days (coffee of sorts :D) I'd be so wired at the end of a shift I'd be doing the 1000-yard stare just waiting for my train home :eek2::eek2:

I'd also scoff at the snootyness of others preparing ground coffee whilst I dug out the nasty mud granules and kettle.......now I appreciate the subtle nuances of ground coffee and mock procariat instant-drinkers

But really no more than a couple per day at most now, I can take it or leave it. Gone weeks without it, no biggie. It's tea 4 me :D

It was the "doubles" which used to almost kill me 1.30 till 9pm, sink as much beer as possible 9-10, then 10-5am half pissed with a mass exodus for toilet breaks about 10.10pm, managers used to hate us for it lol :p

I quit in the end as my casino days were before NMW so to take any decent sort of dosh home you needed Duracell, and of course Pro Plus :p

But you were Pit Boss, you never do any work :p

I was merely Centurion. But as you say, it's not a sustainable existence, that kind of work, no matter how much coffee :eek2:

Some of the old-timers were working 7 days a week I swear, in fact one had a bloody heart attack on the floor!
