Rushmore is a great place to play: Wonderful customer service, very attentive to VIP players attractive bonuses with reachable playthroughs.

I have for awhile been at a place in my gaming experience that requires me to stay away from gaming. Each time I tried I would lose my resolve and come back . Each time I did t his I would inform the management of various casinos that I have a problem and request that they disallow my play with them. For the most part, I met with success and a number of the "chains" banned me from play.

Rushmore however will do no more than to de-activate your account that with a telephone call can be restored.

I am calling on Rushmore and the Gaming Industry to look at this problem with an ethical lens and do the right thing: Help the Compulsive Gambler to get his/her life back by setting up a permanent ban on playing in this situation

I commend Club World for taking this step and extending it to all of their casinos.

To Forum Master: I apologize if this post is out of place but hope you will post it. If you are lilling the post would you email me the proper place for this post. Compulsive Gamblers are the"homeless " of the community and need recognition as a bi-product of this business community. The casino community can enhance its credibility as a legitimate entity by placing compassion ahead of profit.

Do you mean that you can request your account to be re-opened by just calling them on the phone? :what:

"Must offer and enforce spending limits in addition to both temporary and permanent self exclusion options."

sounds excellent and good when a casino offers that. But how's helping that, when there are 100's of other RTGs waiting for the compulsive gambler?

Same with Microgaming. Tell 32Red that you have a gambling problem and they will act quickly. But the next Microgaming is just around the corner. The honest and reliable Casinos lose the players to the less honest operators, as long as there is no network-wide exclusion available.

I guess Microgaming, Playtech or RTG will never offer that, because this would be the only really helpful solution for compulsive gamblers.

I have also an example: I requested a closure of my InetBet Account after a losing streak lasting several months. They closed the account of course, but credited a few weeks later a high manager bonus to this (closed) account. I did not react, a few weeks later again I got an email "you have money in your account" with the offer to reopen the account. But thats only one example, the most reputable casinos act in that way, except for 32Red or VirginCasino and a few others, so far I know.

I agree that casinos should act responsibly and permanently ban a player when they request it. It is an important way of helping players help themselves.

The reason I highlighted the last bit is because it is by far the most important part of this whole problem gambling issue.

Only adults are legally able to gamble, for the reason that, as an adult, you are expected to responsible for your actions and the decisions you make.

Although self-exclusion is a good service to players, the lack of it should not be used as an excuse by someone who has a gambling problem to keep gambling. If your casino account can be opened with a phone call, then dont make the phone call....that is your responsibility as an adult. Nobody is forcing you to make the call.....you make that decision yourself, and anything that happens as a result is 100% down to you.

There are many ways to avoid playing, such as uninstalling, disabling your credit card/ewallet accounts, removing yourself from all things gambling related such as forums/groups, and just plain old not logging in. You have to login to play, and that is a conscious decision - unlike in a land casino where you can just whip your wallet out and throw another $50 in the machine.

Ultimately, to deal with any addiction/problem you need to first admit that you have one, and second you need to confide in someone you trust who can help you to focus your energy/time on other things.....replacing the time you spent gambling is one of the biggest challenges, as the first thing you want to do when bored etc is 'just deposit a few bucks and play for a little while' (and we all know how that can end up).

The Industry can help - sure - but it's your problem and you have to deal with it and not reply on anyone else to deal with it for you.

NB I use the word "you" in a general sense :)

Same with Platinum Play, they state they do not have a way to offer spending limits..lol They told me to call my bank and have my debit card reduced and all I wanted was a 500.00 per month limit as I have with my RTG casino and Rival casino. I haven't come close to the limit at neither one so I don't know if it's really there or not.

I went ahead and told them to close it bc that's not what I was told from the first VIP rep.

They are wrong, they CAN impose limits, but it DOES seem confined to cards, not ewallets. I find I have DIFFERENT transaction and total deposit limits for cards at different MGS casinos.

At All Slots, I can keep on depositing well past £3000, yet at Golden Tiger, it cuts out on 2x £600 and I have to wait for it to reset. Grand Mondial have CHANGED my card limit recently. I once could make a SINGLE £400 deposit, but now am restricted to £300 (roughly) in a single transaction.

Permanent exclusion SHOULD be offered, because even if this meant other casinos could grab such players, they would be ROGUE to do so because they would be preying on the compulsive gambler, whilst the reputable casinos would be permanently excluding them. Surely the reputable casinos do NOT want to be seen profiting from the vulnerable, leave that to the rogues, and then BUST them for it.

There should be the option for permanent exclusion from the software provider. Then you would know that it applies to all casinos with that software and not like now when you can find yourself in a situation described below.

You play at a different MG casino and get your winnings confiscated because of exclusion from another casino. You may want to exclude yourself from just one casino.

Even better would be if you could exclude yourself from particular games, like slots or BJ. Many poker players would applaud it.

But like that would happen. Casinos wouldnt exist in the same way and numbers without problem gamblers. So there is no incentive for them. They only do as much as is required by the letter of law. Games are designed to be as addictive as possible for a reason and that reason is profit.
A casino isnt any different in that sense than any other business.

And, yes, they prey on problem gamblers. Anything else is pure hypocrisy.

Go to www.gamblock.com and buy the download version of gamblock. The price for the personal (Silver) version is quite reasonable. And you won't be able to download or visit a gambling site again for 1 yr period. It works really well and is very very hard to uninstall. If anyone is serious about quitting online gambling. Then this is a must. After a few months the urge will subside. This is the best product for those seriously looking to quit.
