Yet another astounding MG upgrade

BARSTEWARDS:eek:

MGS have gone and CHIPPED THE FRUITIES:eek::eek:

They don't "work" any more:mad:

So old games never changed eh!!!

The AWP's are the ONLY GAMES that seem to have had significant changes, but all "under the bonnet".

Before:-

For example, could use keys 1,2,3 for the holds, and SPACE to spin. This has been SHUT DOWN, but why:confused: They also don't seem to play the same, but need longer to see just what has changed.

Keyboard "hotkeys" have NOT been shut down for the other games though. So what else has been changed?

I bet they haven't fixed the broken strategies in some of the games though.

After 3 un/reinstalls I get this.. and after several more un/reinstalls it sorta started working. Is it MG's policy to beta test on the public now or what? :what:

Always has been, but never before have they rolled out a new lobby engine so soon after the first trials.

I first saw this new lobby on Ruby Fortune, and noticed how "LAGGY" the games played compared with the old. It seems now that I have done a few that the new games come with this new lobby upgrade. From what I can see, there is certainly no IMPROVEMENT, and not even any CHANGE beyond the superficial changes to the casino launch sequence.
Once you start to play though, you notice differences, and all are a BACKWARD step by all accounts.

1) Old games now redownload EACH TIME, introducing extra delay, and presumably consuming more bandwidth allowance than before.

2) "hotkeys" disabled for AWP games, but not others - I will sue for RSI:D

3) The changeover between old and new is not without it's problems. I have had one "this programme has produced an error, and has to close - send error report to Microsoft". I have had another two just freeze with a black square, but eventually spring to life if left for a while. Prime casino tried to use the OLD lobby launch sequence as it's new slash screen movie - it succeeded! - hilarious:lolup:, but it managed to launch in the end.

For me, the new lobby is something to ENDURE, with wistful thoughts of lobbies gone by.

Upgrade?downgrade?

I truly like the center court game. I was able to get the balls twice within 25 spins and wish I had more bet on the 2nd bonus round..was betting .36 and ended up with $116 after the bonus was completed.

This game is going to break a lot of people:D...had a decent night for a change at PP. I give the game an A and the upgrade a D...started lagging really bad after a few games.

ARGGHHH!! After trying multiple times throughout the day to load 32Red, gave up and uninstalled.

Now I am getting download failed! More than once. It might just be a high volume of traffic with the same problems.

Might partially explain the "slow start" to the Slotmeister tourney as well. I do see that the flash version seems to work though.

Right, a tip for all the new upgrade MG people.

I just fired up Royal Vegas, and it's seemingly worked without the whole install shenanigans.

When the splash screen comes up (which it does INSTANTLY now, without waiting for the 'loading IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII' sceen) - wait.

Don't click ANYTHING.

I know, if everybody is like me, that you usually click the intro movie to get to the good stuff quicker - but just leave it.

There's a little blue bar now that runs across the bottom of the splash screen. When this is complete, the casino will load up as normal and your games will be there.

Now to the important stuff... Come on 'Centre Court' - don't let me down AGAIN!!! :D

This is bloody ridiculous, isn't it?
Ladbrokes is fine (well, it was last night), but 32Red is dead - just like everyone else said.
I have 32Red on 3 computers - have I got to un-install & re-install it 3 times? :eek2:

Microgaming, you are $*&$%ers!!! :sob:

Downloaded for me just fine, except in the bonus round of Great Galaxy Grab the casino crashes and game launcher stops working. I now can't get back into the game as it crashes when refreshing and closes the casino. I had just started my bonus round:confused:

I uninstalled and redownloaded, but no luck. Waiting to hear from Crazy Vegas.

The problem may be in the common files, and just uninstalling and reinstalling failed casinos on a case by case basis may not solve the underlying problem.

The answer may well be a complete clear out of EVERYTHING to do with MGS, casinos, common files, and even the REGISTRY, where I have noticed the key "microgaming" has become redundant, but has NOT been cleared out by the upgrades.

Before doing this, download ALL your favourite MGS casinos from their respective websites, and SAVE the installers.

With everything cleared out, install ONE casino, preferrably one with a full set of games. This should repopulate the registry key, the MGS common games folder, and the folder for that casino.
Deposit & play (or use fun mode) to check that everything works OK.
Install all the others, they should add their subkeys to the MGS registry key, create their own folders, and link into what should be a clean copy of the common folder.

It would be best to wait for all your favourite casinos to be using this new lobby to get the cleanest install.

Currently, I find I can recover from most problems just by relaunching the casino.

I just logged in to 32Red again (without any un-installing) to see if anything had changed - and it was working!

That is, the list of all the games has reappeared, but when I clicked on Cashapillar it started some bizarro new downloading & refreshing thingy which took bleedin ages!

So working (at last), but I still think MG are $*&$%ers for not warning anyone in advance of this stupid and annoying upgrade!

The worst thing of all is that Treasure Ireland does not work properly any more:mad::mad::mad:

I am now able to play at Intertops (green) and all my games reappeared. I received an email from CS stating they were having tech problems. I'm glad I didn't uninstall/reinstall now. Although, it glitched and for a few spins it was taking $2.00/spin instead of the .20/spin. Hope they are straightened out finally, I was nearly panicking when all my games slowly disappeared.

Well I had dramas with 32Red also :D

By the time I decided to uninstall it and what not...It was still wacky. Did the usual of clearing everything but to no avail.

Ended up phoning support only to be told...Oh yeah where doing a games upgrade things have a gone a bit fuzzy at Microgaming.

Would have been nice to have received an email before I uninstall and re-installed...

There goes 20% of this month's download quota

Cheers
T

What, you mean you can't force it?
How can it achieve it's overall payout % then if you keep refusing wins?

It certainly plays different. The "patterns" have changed (again);)

Worse is that for some reason they have DISABLED the "hotkeys" for the game, and now it ONLY responds to the mouse left click. This causes SERIOUS problems with RSI, since it takes so MANY clicks to advance it through the feature board, nudges, holds etc, and does NOT have "autoplay - stop on bonus round" settings like the other slots. The other slots STILL have their "hotkeys" enabled, and you can use "enter" for spin, and "space" for "maxbet".
IF they have changed this, I am wondering what ELSE has been changed on the old games.

I am wondering if this was a deliberate move to deter players from playing Treasure Ireland, by using PAIN (in the mouse finger & wrist) as a deterrent from playing more than 10 minutes at a time.

I have also had a chance to compare TI between old and new lobbies at the same time, since there are a few casinos yet to update - I found SOMETHING ELSE, in the OLD lobby, TI is nothing more than an interactive FLASH MOVIE!!!!!!! Right click, and you bring up the flash player settings menu:confused: However, in the NEW lobby - it doesn't:confused:

Looks like it's been completely replaced by a new game, but the SAME game.

I may find the old TI I am used to still available in the FLASH casino - I will have to check.

Hey Marlow!

Did you ever get the problem sorted out?
I'm stuck at the bonus rounds in all mega moolah games and the galaxy quest one. As soon as I try to launch any of them casinogame.exe just keeps on crashing.. I'm guessing it's a flash issue on my side and not a MG problem, so now I'm just waiting for gnuf to contact MG with my problem details..

I never did hear from Crazy Vegas on the issue. I think its a Vista issue, as I went and finished the bonus round on my laptop with XP. A few days after that, it started working again on my Vista machine. So I don't know if they fixed it on their end or what. Sorry can't help you more.

No excuse for this rudeness, even if they couldn't help (other than to suggest reinstalling the casino).

I have encountered a number of issues of varying severity since the upgrade, including having the software at Canbet simply disappear from my desktop at random every few minutes during today (but not yesterday:confused:), followed by a temporary inability to get back in to the part that was running, be that a game, banking, or my loyalty statement.

The solution to uninstall and reinstall may work, but we get this EVERY F****** MONTH:mad: We CANNOT be expected to have to repeatedly uninstall and reinstall MGS casinos on a monthly basis. MGS have to stop pushing these updates out so fast, many STILL have errors in them, and the upgrade is often "dirty", rather than being properly managed by the software.

I suspect this "dirty" nature is responsible for many of these errors, and now uninstalling and reinstalling ONE casino may no longer be enough, since many files are held in common (documents & settings), and are NOT removed, even if corrupt, by uninstalling and reinstalling a single casino.

Worse still, even uninstalling EVERY MGS casinos STILL leaves behind this set of common files, and thus would STILL keep a corrupt copy of one that would go on to afflict the reinstalled casinos.

It takes a degree of familiarity with Windows beyond that of most users to PROPERLY clean house after MGS, and create a clean sheet from which to reinstall MGS casinos running the new splash screen start-up (the change that seems to have created the problem in the first place, but a seemingly unnecessary change that produces no tangible benefit, but many problems).

I am "cleaning house" on my other PC at Mum's place, and it has taken TWO DAYS, and I am STILL not done.

This one is next, but I have no effective backup here, only my old Windows 98 PC.

There may be a few MGS casinos puzzled by my sudden lack of loyalty, since I have to uninstall the lot in order to even begin the clean up.
