When did self exclusion across brands become mandatory?

Hi can anyone tell me when casinos had to comply with honouring self exclusion across different sites but under one licence please?

I have just had this response today

Further to your recent contact.

I have checked your accounts and can see that you self excluded your account at....... on 19 October 2016 and your...... Casino account was closed on 24 October 2017. At that time there was no legal requirement to check other brands and all correct procedures were followed.

I don't want to name the casinos but just wondered if that is correct info if anyone can help.

I've finally got my gambling under control and have stopped. I've signed up with gamstop and I'm systematically going through all my old accounts to make sure I'm permenantly excluded one by one as well.

My 18 year old only child passed away 6 months ago and she knew I gambled and hated it and had tried to support me in stopping by taking me to GA. I'm doing this for her in death now. The thing I wasnt strong enough to do whilst she was alive and I just want to make sure there are not gaps I can slip through and that I've got my facts right.

Thank you so much in advance.

As far as I'm aware the SE across a single licence has been there from the start, although I may be corrected. I don't understand why people won't name the casino in stuff like that, firstly people might be aware of previous complaints against them and how/if they got resolved, and it could also be that they weren't under the same license at the time.

I didn't want to cause any problems that was all. If it's OK if I make them is All British Casino and Yako Casino

They have already said no, so it can't make it any worse saying who they are :)
I would drop @L&L-Jan a PM, if its possible to help I'm sure he will, he's one of the better reps on here by far. Maybe he could pop onto the thread and say when cross license self exclusion was brought in as I know EM and some other groups were applying it in 2016.

I thought back then you could only have one account across the group?

Thanks, colinsunderland!

Hi Rach,

First of all I think you are doing a great job by checking all previous accounts if they are SE'ed accordingly and that you have signed up at GamStop. I'm sure you will manage and soon you can be very proud of yourself, and not only you !

I dont believe we are required to SE all your accounts in the group if we have given you the option to: SE for the specific casino, or SE for the whole group. As we don't provide that option a SE on your All British Casino will result in a SE on all casinos with the same end date. New registered accounts will be SE'ed as well, mostly within 30 seconds.

In the past we had a one account rule for the whole group, the reason for that was related to limitations in our technical infrastructure and not related to any law or regulations.

As far as I know if you SE at a group they would need to either give you the option to SE within the group or the individual casino. If no option is given the SE applies to the group.

I hope this has answered your question? If not, let me know !

Hi

@L&L-Jan I haven’t been able to get through to you on PM. I just wonder if you could update me please?

Thanks

Rachel

Hi Rachel,

I'm sorry I forgot to follow-up ! It has totally slipped my mind, normally I let PM's that require a followup unread and I didnt do that with yours.

You have the answer of my workings tomorrow around noon, as mentioned earlier it will require some time.

Kr. Jan
