What has happened to Slingo?

Hi all,

not sure how many slingo players there are here. It's a favourite of mine but looks like the UKGC has ruined it. £5 a go but can't buy more spins now, every other game says "spin price limit reached" even though I don't have any limits on it. Defeats the purpose of the game because you usually end up buying extra spins. I thought only reel-based games were affected by the cap? Way to ruin a good game.

Well, personally, I hate these things and pretty much never played them anyway. Hardly a surprise these are included as it would have been mental to cap slots at £5 and still allow pretty much limitless extra spin buys on these which could go well above this amount.

For what it’s worth, I am against the limitations imposed. There are a lot of tools at hand to help people if they get into trouble. If those people refuse to use them or need extra help then lowering the amounts to £2-5 is not the solution, especially when you can still get hundreds on roulette which was the main game identified as one of the biggest problems in bookies.

But you know, generally, decisions are made by UKGC to be seen to do something, anything about the problem without helping more with the root such as wide availability for example. Where were these people when the town councils were giving out licenses for town arcades like confetti?

@Siohmy yeah honestly Slingo is pretty bad for being able to buy extra spins, but there are tools there to limit them yourself within the game. I've played like that before without buying any extra spins and you can occasionally get a bonus but it's super hard. Getting the top two bonuses will be nigh on impossible now unless staking 20p although I did do it once when I won extra spins on a high stake.

As for the other general site tools-apparently me taking a lot of time outs or limiting deposits was a red flag to a couple sites! Imagine giving people tools but then being like "if you have to use the tools that's a problem" they did agree the rules are ridiculous but their computer flags up these things. Anyway that's a whole other thread!

UKGC are clueless as ever. I think I read a comment on reddit that said something like "they're not limiting losses they're limiting people winning big" and I agree. You can still blow through a lot on £5 spins but the big wins will be a lot harder to come by.

some casinos they fk up their limits, diffrent casinos u see diffrent limits, give them a week to fix their 💩

I've no idea how this game works and it looks a horrible game to play. It seems an attempt to mix bingo and slots but I'd rather simply play bingo or slots anyway.
Thats exactly what slingo is, a very poor mix of bingo and slots. I don't really understand why people play slingo instead of just regular bingo, maybe you want to give some insight? @winner2021

Good question! I mainly stick to Fluffy Favourites slingo because you can get 100x on the lowest bonus round sometimes, which is pretty neat. I've done well on it and had some really long sessions but you have to be super careful. Regular slots just eat my money in minutes tho. The only ones I'm really playing now since the limits are 9 pots of gold and DOA2. I play regular bingo as well and admittedly have won a lot more on it than slingo/slots but mainly when there's big jackpot promos on. Otherwise I get a bit bored.

Update-so I might've spoken too soon as I just had one of my best sessions yet. £2 works better than £5 as you can still buy a couple extra spins and sometimes get onto the first bonus round. And now there's no risk of going crazy with the extra spins as it won't let you. I even managed to get up to the full house-although it didn't pay out that great (worse than the first bonus round max payout lol) but still. Mammoth sessions like THIS is why I play slingo! Started with just £14 and managed to get up to £550 with plenty of playtime 😍 have to say it's sucked all week tho so this was an unusual winning streak.
