Wow, I can't believe they took it down and it won't return. Just poor and screams that they did it purely on percentage purposes. I managed to give it a good 2-3 hour bash last night and went up £100 on 20p spins but eventually lost £80 by the end of the session so even 99% could give you a rollercoaster ride.
I guess if you were a higher stake player and it behaved with percentage, you could bump it closer to 100% with the weekend booster thrown in and that's just too much for VS in terms of margins for them.

So book of 99 lasted a whole day, didn't even get to play it once.
how much XP and weekend booster does 99% rtp provide anyway? Not a lot I would imagine.

If Videoslots removed because of the high RTP shame on them. What's wrong with having a few high rtp on there profile of games are they that greedy? Well we all know the answer to that. Sickening just pathetic. Can you give the reason Team Videoslots for the reason and can you be up front and honest instead ignoring or beating around the bush with excuses.

They've shot themselves in the foot by putting it up then only to remove it within 24hrs. Could have avoided all of this negative publicity if they'd checked out the game in the first place prior to hosting it. Nobody would have been the wiser to that decision.

If only the name of the slot might have given them a clue of some description, then all of this could have been avoided.

If you factor in Jackpot Wheels, Weekend Booster, XP contributions and so on, they probably stood to run that slot at a loss, and that's before associated running costs, tax and so on.

Maybe we could start some sort of Casinomeister Charity Drive to help Videoslots out in their time of need.

99% is a high RTP for a slot but in the case of Book Of 99 it's:

1) A single slot out of many that VS have on their books
2) Still runs with a house edge, so over time the casino will make money on it

I play mainly at Unibet.com these days and they've got the 98% slots selection, which it's nice to have available but it's only ten slots and with the best will in the world no one's going to keep plugging away at the same ten slots forever.

Looking through my 'last played' list on Unibet, which keeps a record of the last 15 slots I played, only one of the 98% games are even on the list. (Twin Spin, which I do have a very soft spot for, but that's the case even in its normal 96.7% RTP version, so the fact it's the 98% version isn't even what motivated me to play it.)

I think it's a dick move for VS to remove Book Of 99 on account of its high RTP, maybe a focused enough player could tip it over 100% long term with the perks (such as they are at VS these days), but even there the casino always retains the 'we reserve the right to close your account' in the T&Cs if they're not happy about that. (Or they could do one of their famous SoWs, which seems to have the same effect :D )

(And the volatility of slots is so high that the 'advantage player' would still be taking a serious risk with their money, on a game that, remember, still has a solid house edge. I kicked Book Of 99 around a fair bit in demo play on the link dunover posted and it's a spicy bugger, and it will chew down a balance if you catch it wrong.)

As players we all know that, ultimately, our function in the relationship is to hand over our money to the casino, but for VS to be so blatantly 'FU' about it speaks volumes IMO, but then, that's why I stopped playing there early on when they started nerfing their RTPs.

I fail to see why such outrage? Who lost a lot of money on the slot before it was pulled?
Mistakes can be made and they have pulled it. Since they reduced rtp they have introduced a number of ways that give us back. Those ways seem to be more in favor to low rollers than the high rollers.
Give them a break

What like the change to the weekend booster where they basically just keep some of your winnings and then give them back to you at a later date?

That was a very pro-player move.

This man knows 👍
If you're an online casino laying out what VS do in promotions such as -
  • Weekend Booster
  • Monthly weekend slot battles with extra 5 x €250 prize draw
  • Clash of Spins
  • Jackpot Wheels / Trophies
  • Frenzy Mondays
  • Tuesday Madness
  • Epic Thursdays
  • Mystery Fridays
  • Saturday Madness
  • €30k Monthly Grand Freeroll Battle
  • XP level Bronze/Silver/Gold/Diamond wheels
then you might not see running a slot on 99% RTP as being cost-effective in this current hostile market. I mean, I'm just throwing it out there. You can't have high RTP's and loads of free shit every week, so a compromise has to be reached somewhere. I'd rather have promotions and stuff to look forward to - that's what makes VS different.

There's also every chance the slot could be abused somehow with bonus funds or there's a major problem with it of some sort, and that's why it's been pulled. Oh no! I'll have to play one of the other thousands of slots instead - some of which still return over 97% RTP if you look hard enough. The absolute fucking state of people in this thread sometimes when something happens they don't like. The usual suspects too. Turn it in for fuck's sake...
