My daughter then called them and said that she would have many bounced checks because their check was bad. They kept telling her that she would receive ( and then did) a $50 bonus from them . She is furious!!!

As of today she hasn't received the check back in the mail with insufficiant funds, and she is still waiting to see if the check ever cleared.

She contacted Jackpotfactory, and they told her for sure the check would bounce, and again told her that she had a $50 bonus in her account. Even after she told them she would be bouncing many checks because of their bad check, they seemed not to understand how much money this would cost her.

This issue is so dissappointing to me and her as well.

IF this issue is not resolved soon, my daughter will sign up here and PAB. She is still waiting to see if the check for sure bounced.

This is the sort of story that could add ammunition to those seeking to ban online gambling in the US. If these casinos have any decency, they will cover all overdraft and bounced cheque fees, and they will have already sacked the payment processor sending out rubber cheques.

The moral of the story, before you deposit next time, you should ask for a copy of the casino's bank statement.

I just received notice that my Vegas Splendido check is bad.

I think it might be because they used an American bank.

I again requested that they use Neteller so I'm sure they will send another check.

This is really disturbing. I wonder if any of the reps here from Fortune Lounge or Jackpot Factory could comment or elaborate on this for us? hOOters or Marasta, have either of you PM'd the reps?

Yes, it would be the moral (right thing) to do. We (ex. US) have grown used to the comfort of very strict banking laws that protect us from losses such as these. IF these bad checks are drawn on US banks, then there is recourse. If not, well, recourse is doubtful.

I think a great lesson from this is not to spend money received from a casino check before it has cleared your bank. And you would have to demonstrate a huge amount of patience to do so.

To top it off this isn't even a good email address for Fortune Lounge Support ! I have tried replying twice to their email and both emails bounced ! Just like the check huh ?

Not yet Pina I am swamped with things to do right now getting ready for vacation but I will this evening ! I am really pissed I know they had to know this before now. This was from 2 weeks ago !

My daughter is still waiting for confirmation from her bank as to whether or not it bounced or cleared. She deposited the check a week ago Monday. After confirmation one way or the other , she will PM the rep from All Slots.

This seems very odd indeed. Albeit this may not be either groups issue directly, it certainly is an issue indirectly if they are using a processor that issues checks that cannot be cleared. I had suggested to Marasta to PM the rep here for Jackpot Factory to get additional information. Clearly this now is an issue for some other groups as well. I would expect to see some clarification with regards to this issue from the reps here soon. This is truly the type of problem that could leave a serious "black eye" not only for the groups involved but the industry as a whole. It will be curious to see if ultimately these checks are rejected due to insufficient funds or some other reason.

stubborn splendido

even worse......after they screw up and issue a bad check, Vegas Splendido now won't refuses my request that they credit my neteller rather than issue another check...... What a crock!

"Check" has multiple definitions including......

"A written order to a bank to pay the amount specified from funds on deposit; a draft."

The word origin as well............

The words check, chess, and shah are all related. Checkmate, the next stage after check, goes back to the Arabic phrase shh mt, meaning the king is dead. Through a complex development having to do with senses that evolved from the notion of checking the king, check came to mean something used to ensure accuracy or authenticity. One such means was a counterfoil, a part of a check, for example, retained by the issuer as documentation of a transaction. Check first meant counterfoil and then came to mean anything, such as a bill or bank draft, with a counterfoil or eventually even without one.

It could by a stupid belief...

With all what is going on the US.. don't you think the banks might know that certain checks from certain companies are coming form the gambling industry?

It could be stupid, but since they are so focused, remember "for the good of our nation's population", on avoiding people from gambling online that the banks don't want to pay checks that could lead to a goverment investigation.

I believe that Moneybookers is going to grow big time in the following months... However they don't allow gambling if you fund with MC.

I have seen that customers are having problems running their cards with Neteller as well.

Well, is just a weird so many complains of bad checks...

How would they know? The US cheques I have received were ordinary cheques drawn on J P Morgan in New York or Well Fargo in Carson City, Nevada.

You can use the funds you deposit there with MC for gambling...just send the money to your own email addy...costs few cents, but it can be deposited to casinos after that...

Has anyone found out any info as to why these checks are bouncing ? This is a real concern and if anyone has some knowledge about why this is happening a post would be much appreciated. :)

My theory is that US banks have now compiled a more complete database of online gambling accounts. These banks don't want to be connected in any way in case the congressional witch-hunt against internet gambling continues.

MY experience with Fortune Lounge several years ago...

When I first started internet gambling, one of the first casino groups I joined was the Fortune Lounge group. I remember I started out with blackjack, then had a nice run on one of their slots and cashed out for over $2500.

They Fedexed me a check, which was drawn on Bank of America. Being a neophyte to online casinos then, I was EXTREMELY nervous about whether the check would clear, and actually went to my nearest B of A branch to cash the check. I spent several nervous minutes while they validated the check and confirmed the funds, and only breathed a sigh of relief once I received the cash in my anxious hands. But I DID receive the cash.

Did Fortune Lounge change banks? Or is this some sort of issue with that particular checking account, or is it part of a larger problem with internet gambling (eg banks no longer honoring these types of checks)?

Has anyone who this affected directly PM'd either the Fortune Lounge rep, or the Jackpot Factory rep? I don't think by the thread title that either one of them would read this thread if they weren't made aware of it.

Several of our players have been affected by this issue as well.

We were informed by our processor that a batch of checks was problematic and we informed those players affected of the situation. Players were given the choice to change their preferred method of payment for the re-issue of payment or to receive checks from a different bank.

This issue is completely out of our (and other casino operators') control and we sincerely regret the inconvenience it has caused.

Fortune Lounge players will receive compensation for additional bank charges related to this issue.

We, once again, apologize for the inconvenience.

Actually, Fortune Lounge is handling this much better than others by allowing affected players to change the method of payment. Live long and prosper, Fortune! (...just not at my expense, please....lol)

Can you tell us why/the reason for the problematic checks ?

Also in order to get compensation for additional bank charges related to this issue the casino wants copies of our bank statements. I do not plan to give anyone a copy of my bank statement. Would FL give me a copy of their bank statement to insure me that it won't happen next time I play ? I think not !

Surely they will allow you to black-out all personal information on your statement. It's a pain, but that request doesn't sound unreasonable. Hopefully they'll throw you a bone with some free spins for your troubles.
