UK Gambling commission to look into £2 stake limit for online slots. Decision within 6 months

And gets a young boy to stream on his behalf should involve social services instead of the ukgc
Well, it's clear that the bloke in question is old enough, so please try to avoid groundless slurs and keep it factual! Thanks.

You bang on mate, pimps her out from time to time to do this kind of thing.

What the f*&%.

You guys have an agenda, and I won't stand for it. Do not make personal attacks on folks, especially their kids - I couldn't care less how old they are. Both of you should know better than this.

30 day suspension.

This was an interesting thread about the UKGC and the possible limitation of bet sizes. And it has been hijacked into another streamer flame thread. I don't have the time to split this into separate threads, so thread closed.

OK - I've reread this thread and see how this morphed into a discussion about streaming in the UK. So I am reopening this thread hoping that you peeps keep it mellow.

As for the bans of two members, I'll lift those but they should serve as warnings that personal attacks are not to be tolerated in this forum. I draw the line at attacking one's kids as well. Don't do it. Thank you.

Thanks Bryan!

I warned this would happen a long time ago, and the online casinos should have seen this coming for some time. The big bookies failed to react when it appeared to be coming to the B2 machines, and they are likely to make the same mistake again here.

So for any casinos that are listening...

WALL OFF ANY BETS OVER £5 - PLAYERS SHOULD ONLY BE ABLE TO ACCESS THESE AFTER SUCCESSFULLY DOING AN SOW THAT SHOWS THEY CAN AFFORD IT,

Prove to the UKGC that you CAN be proactive and sensible about bet sizes.

I say £5 because that is the maximum bet in land-based casinos .

That said, if they reduce online to £2, they will end up in a legal fight i'm sure as casinos in retail are looking on worriedly as they currently have a £5 max bet.

It was always going to be an issue once FOBTS had the max bet changed. The thing I find a bit out of line in a land based casino is that the max bet on slots is £5 but the max bet on roulette (live table) at the casino I play is £6,250 (or around there) per spin.

How is that on a level and even close to responsible?

Thanks Bryan!

In absolute agreement as stated on here before. If they dont act they will see this rule passed.

That could create bit complexity around topic "How rich you have to be to place over £5 bet".

Mandatory fixed loss limit might work easier, that you could make up with some percentage about average disposable income or just make up some number like £500/month and up from that, some SOW needed. Would also help people not to loose big amounts with smaller bets.

Will this limit apply to table games online, I can't see the firms run to the expense of live tables if the maximum anyone can stake is £2 per roulette spin or hand of blackjack.

If they put a limit on slots but not table games how will that be viewed by gambling campaigners and mps etc.. also the slot makers revenue is going to take a hit not just the casinos. Will they be part of the consultation process, the game makers?

How much in tax does the U.K. government receive from the casino groups in the U.K.? Behind the scenes some deal would probably be made their is just too much money involved

In 2017 UK got £705mn from remote gambling (taxes). Since then the tax rate has increased and the sector has grown further, so it would be higher for sure, not seen any more recent numbers

Just bring in SOW for all UK players. That is the baseline for what your max bet is.

If you cant prove it, thats £2 max for you.
As long as it’s across the board with all ukgc casinos and not made up individually by the casino groups accepting 1 thing rejecting another! If only they’re actually listen to the players

If max bet will be enforced, only then can see how many people who willing to use higher stakes start to play under other regulations who don't have max bet and are not asking that many SOW:s either at any point.

For instance take (big casino group) on the one hand they will have danger with max stake £40.00 and on the other danger with a max stake of £2.00 for U.K. Surely you’d just pull out of the U.K. market

Will their be any effect on the rtp on games I’m not sure how it works but if you have someone winning on say 5€ and UK max stake being 2£ from the same casino would their be any effect?

Yep, without doubt, casino will need more margin so the internet RTPs will get worse.

Be looking at FOBT %s.

Some games are already that, luckily the UKGC have limits as to how low they will go.
Smaller casinos will leave the market.

If this happen we could see how fast some operator can apply for Curacao license and get rid off UK license, then welcoming all UK players back once don't have anything to do with UKGC and their regulations anymore.

exactly, same as is happening with non gamstop stuff.
If a casino wanted to pay people and there was a legitimate site showing people where to play rather than listing a load of rogue casinos, I think the number playing outside UKGC control would already be a lot higher, if max stakes come in, a lot lot higher. Someone could make a lot of money if they set such a casino up now and got a good repuation!
