Not that I suppose anyone cares much (I know I don't :p), but I've been informed that two of the Rival casinos who failed miserably earlier this year have been re-branded and re-launched:

Royal Apollo Casino is now Malibu Club Casino
and
Tradition Casino is now Gibson Casino

I suppose with new management they might get things right this time, but I for one as a player and an affiliate will not be rushing to put my trust in them until they've proved themselves beyond reasonable doubt...

It may be a while...I thought I would download Malibu just to see if anything had changed. It hasn't. I was bonus banned at Royal Apollo and am bonus banned at Malibu. I do know one thing...I have a lot more room on my laptop lately and the uninstall feature at these casinos works quite nicely:lolup:

Seems to be very easy for these Rival Casino's to bust themselves and rebrand...if that doesn't stop people playing with them then I suppose nothing will!

Honest to goodness... the longer I try to stay 'informed' about online casinos, the more I become confused.

So now... is it the same people who OWN the casino... did the managers take the dough and run? ... or did Rival just step in and take over?

They don't exactly spell it out, but my assumption is that the original owners are definitely out of the picture, Rival took over running of the casinos in the interim and new owners were found. Whether these owners were appointed by, came from within Rival or came from outside is unknown (to me).

I got e-mails from both stating:-
As you might be aware, Royal Apollo has been taken over by new management and rebranded into Malibu Club Casino and Affiliates.

We would like to introduce ourselves as your new management, and let you know that if there is anything you might need, please do not hesitate.
"Introduce ourselves"? That's a joke - the e-mail has no names anywhere, it's just "signed" Malibu Affiliates.

Now that I've looked, both e-mails are identical apart from the casino names, so it looks to me like both casinos have the same "new owners".

This is the real problem with Rival, well I say this but I mean this and the other 5000 issues, they are very secretive about ownership in the main which really should set alarms bells ringing.
Chances are Rival owned them previous to the rebrand and now Rival has taken over from Rival. :eek2:

The new owners can always come here and introduce themselves if I am wrong.

only one question about rival
is there some list of trust and rogue casinos of this software?

No...play at your own risk, really.

I feel a couple are reliable, but I don't want to recommend anything on my name, and frankly, based on things I have been reading as of late, I'm taking the position of not trusting any of them for now.

No, that's not the case. I personally met the owners of Royal Apollo at a conference in London in January, and they definitely were independent and not part of Rival itself.
I can't say anything about the new owners - you know as much as I do!

Just as with RTG, V-tech, Playtech, or any other software, some people will say they are all cheating rogues while others will say they are all OK.

Only 4 Rival casinos are actually listed in the CasinoMeister's "Rogue Pit":
Orange Gamez and Tradition - both now closed down.
Dendera and Rockbet - both for "piss-poor customer support" (quite a long time ago).

IMO some Rival casinos are great, some are OK and some are pretty useless, again, just the same with any software. I am currently working on a new listing of The Best, The Rest (OK) and Not Recommended. PM me if you'd like the details when I've finished.

I suspect that is frequently the owners' intention, Mousey!

Actually I care quite a lot, as you might imagine, in my capacity as Pitch-A-Bitch Manager. Good info, thank you for posting it.

(sorry for the tardy response, I've had my head in the PAB Archives this past week or so).

hello , didnt think orange gamez had closed down? i just tried there site & its not closed up . i was told by rival that there was new owners taking over this casino but ive had no e mails from them to say anything at all , although i have remained a no depositting player due to the hassle & a safe guard to monies , untill i see that theyve sorted out there problems i will make no deposits , although i did have great fun whilst i had a nice litlle run , then when came to a withdrawal well the rest of you know the hopes i had to go through to get those funds . but at least they did pay after help from the forum members )

So the two new casinos have the old casino skins? I'm trying to figure out how they are rebranded if the name changed and management replaced.:what:

Yes, sorry I should not have said the casino "closed down" - that was misleading.
What I meant is the original operators have quit the scene and Rival themselves took over the running of the casino - just as they did with a few casinos before.
Players probably wont notice any difference during the transition to a new owner.

It is a bit of an odd situation, but I think the reason is Rival prefer this route to closing the casinos completely because it gives existing players and affiliates continuity.
As you probably know, I'm an affiliate who used to promote the two old casinos. With the change of casino names, all the players I referred to the old casinos have been transferred to the new. As a player, when I tried to start Royal Apollo casino, it did an upgrade, then re-started as Malibu Club. Same log-in details, history, and everything.
This would also make it a lot easier for Rival to sell the casinos to new owners as they would be getting 1,000s of players who have already registered!

BTW, I am now 99.99% sure Malibu Club and Gibson have the same owners.
What I don't have a clue on, is who those owners are.

It may give affiliates continuity but they have set themselves up to fail IMO with players. They are using the same criteria to bonus ban players (I'm banned at Malibu and at Gibson my account is locked just like at Tradition). If Rival hasn't learned from past screw ups by now they never will. They were my software of choice (and I'm not paranoid) but in the last couple months I've noticed dramatic differences in the way the games play. If I can go 1,000spins and NEVER receive a bonus round above 5 times my bet there is seriously something wrong. And, it isn't at just one but at several.

They (the casinos and I am now lumping them all together) believe they can offer decent bonuses, decent playthrough and then once you have a win, take it all away and we (the players) are just going to go along and never notice. I really believe they think we are addicted to the games and really won't care what they do.

Needless to say I'm tired of it....I don't play at Rivals anymore unless it is a free chip. If anything ever changes down the road I may play again but I'm not holding my breath;)
