Received this snail mail from Jackpot Capitol today.

Even though the $25 free bonus is appreciated, I find the wording very deceptive.

I'll attach the terms also - which of course you can't see until after taking up the offer

The fact that some poor bloke / lady, who is not up to speed with the likes of this forum, and therefore all the tricks of the trade some casino's pull - goes ahead and tries their luck on one of the suggested progressives AND WINS......only to be told TO BAD SO SAD - only $125 bucks for you grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I also got the same snail mail the other day but mine was for $10 free to 'try the new games'...
What i found funny was when i claimed it, i went through and checked what games i could play on it and the new game 'Lucky Tiger' wasn't even on the included slots list.
So if i played that game and made wagering, would it then be voided i wonder?

Yeah it would have voided it, just because the bonus counter dissipated after I played it for a while.
Not to derail totally, but I got a similar mailing from intertops, but it was all in german. Luckily I understood free money and match bonus, but the rest was a bit unreadable. LOL

I really dont see an issue here. Because you see 5.5 million do you automatically think its 5.5 Geesh guys Even if it could have been worded better the casino does assume we thr players have a bit of common sense.

What I have noticed about the forum recently is a bit of "piling on" Tghis yes me too look what happened

I agree, nothing new here, on a free chip. Almost all casinos have a max withdrawal on them and terms about progessives on all platforms. If you are familiar at one casino you best believe all others are 99.9% alike in these terms on freebies. I, too got it and spent it like it was funny money cause that is what it is IMO.

One other thing...they did post it IN YOUR FACE where you can look and see just what is allowed...so they get kudo's for that. They were not hiding anything, they just didn't think when writing the ad. That to me is just a small "oops" that you get all the time with these casinos and offers...

I totally disagree. This is a deceptive marketing scheme for the free chip.
Please bear in mind that all out there are NOT seasoned gamblers and aware of the fine print casinos list in their T&C's.

I would be VERY interested to see if somebody won a progressive on a free chip and has this letter in their possession. The Letter IMPO would be enough to fight for full payment.

...'$25 to try out our NEW GAMES ....... or use your FREE BONUS to win the Biggest progressive Jackpots available'? This doesn't seem like a typo to me...

As Nifty suggested, if a Casino is so adamant with their T&C's surely someone would have proof read this.

As for the "fine print" it was right there on the page where you must claim the bonus....so how can you say it was "hidden in fine print" ?? They screwed up, yes, and so do many other well known casinos....and as I said before...it was "In your face" terms you could not miss even if you were a newbie....and that is where the "live chat" function comes in handy...we all know if you are not sure you need to ask...even newbies who should be burning up the "live chat" function should know to ask...

I mean...if we put every casino that screwed up a promo at least once, in a pile of rogues, you would have no casinos left to choose from...I could list just as anyone else can how many "accredited" casinos flubbed up a promo or two before..and this is why you should AVOID all freebies and bonuses...or use the free chips like fun money if you choose to claim it.. JMO...

.

I really do not see the need to argue over this... IMPO, it was a misleading marketing ploy... Funds are confiscated when the player makes a mistake. We have seen this over and over again - Its up to the player to read the T&C's - Casinos do not make exceptions, Rules are Rules

When a Casino messes up and something is clearly misleading and highlighted people spring to their defence?

The question is... how many people received this and will they honor their statement? Im almost certain, the rep will come on and say it was a mistake... Like they always do when they spam your inbox deliberately, and mail you after you asked to be taken off the list and reopen accounts after users cite a gambling problem.. yep, it WAS a mistake

I totally agree with you.

Funny you should bring this up

I never received the email.

It was a veeerrry slow chat response. I was banging my head almost on my laptop screen.

,She had no idea about this promo and for sure if a newbie played the Progressives and the new games and it was not included in the 'coupon details' section but was sure it was judging by the letter sent to us informing us about the 'great progressives and the exciting new games' that one would indeed play this coupon.

Very misleading.

Just received this:

Old / Expired Link

It clearly says goto casino and enjoy 32 free spins on lord of the rings no * to indicate there are conditions but yes folks there are conditions. I though 32 red should know better.

(sorry I don't have word so cannot copy screen print onto here)

The red arrow was used to highlight the second paragraph......NOT 5.5million. Perhaps I should have moved it up 1.5millimeters to reduce confusion....my bad. :o

Silcnlayc, perhaps I’m getting over sensitive in my old age, however, I found that highlighted “IN YOUR FACE” comment offensive.
I also totally disagree.
The letter suggests to go to the promotions section of the website to check for details.......of the tons of great promotions and giveaways in November.
I wasn’t concerned about any other November giveaways....just the FREE $25 on offer that I could win a progressive with if I so choose to play one. I was not prompted to check any T/C for this.

I didn’t have to go to any page to claim this bonus. The instructions are clearly stated on the letter.
Log on...
Select Cashier... go to Redeem Coupon and enter the Coupon bonus code from the check field below...
Sorry....no fine print was ever in my face. I would have had to go digging.

The point of this thread (that I very bravely posted) was to highlight the blatant ....(as jelsmith so rightly put it), eff up.
As I very rarely claim any bonus that has a max withdraw, I was intrigued by the second paragraph. A more unseasoned punter would have run with it I’m sure.
That’s what made me angry. The thought of an unsuspecting actually winning a progressive on this freebee. How tragic would that be.
I did play it out seen as I claimed it and treated it as fun mode too after seeing the max withdraw.

I claimed it too...so if you claimed it at the same place I did, it shows up on this same location....THE CASHIER's page. This is why I said.."in your face" because you had to have seen it , because it was "RIGHT THERE" once the bonus was credited to you...all the additional T&C's and games that were allowed/disallowed were "RIGHT THERE". You could not miss it because it "loads" and is sitting "RIGHT THERE , before you exit and then you exit it.

Um, no....you wouldn't have to go dig..so where you said you claimed your bonus is the same pace I am talking about, it is called "a page" since it loads ...a cashier's page with tabs on the top...etc etc....
Jubbluck: I was not prompted to check any T/C for this.
You also are no longer a "newbie" that doesn't know any better...to claim you were not "prompted' to check any other T&C's is not a very good reason for failure to do due diligence and not read what was "RIGHT THERE" when your bonus was loaded, so was the bonus terms...

Jubbluck: (that I very bravely posted)
um...huh??? You were not going into a fierce battle...you posted , others replied......???? Is that not what this forum is for???? If you wanted no opinions or replies...why post and if you take "offence" of terminolgy that is meant in general...you really must get better in touch with yourself because not everything pertains to oneself but to the discussion ......

.

 - OMG - which is why I attached the terms in the first place. Yes the ones that pops up AFTER you have to claim. The ones that say you’re stuck with $25 to spend on the new games (or not)... OR win a fabulous progressive jackpot minus the sayyyyy $1 599 875.

This is the point I'm trying to get across.

Well done kauphy. :D
