the WTF thread

speaking of bikes and a WTF
My Emmo GTS is, a month old?
Went out Friday.
Go to the Legion for cards and beer.
5 min later, hear CRASH

Wind was so strong, toppled the bike.
Scarred the side, broke the mirror and foot pedal snapped off.
EEsh.
For a $5 night of cards, cost me about $400 :eek2:

"There's the rope, off you go"

Gross, I know, I deal with it :P

You might have to stop reading the Daily Mail... It's unsettling.
Erm.....nope!

And taking pieces from there isn't akin to 'reading the Daily Mail' (audible gasp).....they're just another rag, like all the rest :D

allergens pass :)

just...me and bugs and sun dont much get along
Then we shake hands and go about our summers :P
(same every yr really, bug bites fade, allergens get sorted, a burn, then, soon, a tan )
White boy problems :P

Who has a family party in their front garden
How dare you question the validity of this story. Are you implying that this is in any way a You've Been Framed- style hoax? From these good people?

Thought that was from an American High School finals paper until you gave it away...

Lisa looks like she's lived those 50 years twice tbh.
The guy in the middle with the brown hair, I vaguely recall him as a bit-part actor from somewhere. It's more staged than a pro-Putin rally.

Who has a family party in their front garden ...in the uk that is, never in all my years seen one.
Oddly enough, last week i made the same comment - we went round to someones house for someone going away (to live, not jail) and when i saw everyone was out the front i asked: what's up with the back garden?2 hours i felt distinctly uneasy being in full view of my shame in drinking Bud Lite.

No-one reads the Daily Mail. Its articles are just a cover for the "Side Bar of Titillation".

Also quite amazing that no matter what the article, there is always a picture of a women - usually half-dressed - squeezed in there somewhere.

Boy, those DM photographers must love their jobs.

UK man accidentally loses £23.5bn worth of gas, enough to keep two households warm this winter.

He was installing fence posts by a field with a pile-driving kind of machine.

Lucky fucker actually, the kind of bloke who would hit 3000x on his first ever Bonanza bonus - if that had caught fire....

Had to watch that about 5 times. Having none of the luck but all of the luck at the same time.

Some people eh.

A long time a-comin', these latest escapades have been building up a few days/ weeks now

To those not in the loop, Miller's a Hollywood fruitcake struggling artist with priors

You'd never see Gene Hackman doing this!

Besides anything wild, I think that's the biggest cat I have ever seen. Has that been photoshopped like when they make features larger than what they actually are? It looks ludicrously big.
forced perspective in a lot of the maine coon pics out there , but they do get pretty huge

Compared to other cat breeds coons are big boys.
That said forced perspective in photos make them look even bigger.

if you want a realllllllllllllllllly big kitty, try the Canadian lynx :p

Sorry, the real big kitties are fed Swedish meatballs, not maple syrup.
We call them Lodjur, but the international name would be Eurasian lynx.

"As the largest lynx species, Eurasian Lynx prey on wild ungulates but will eat smaller animals when deer are scarce. Unlike the Canada Lynx Lynx canadensis, and Iberian Lynx Lynx pardinus, this cat does not rely on hares, and thus is not dependent on fluctuating rabbit populations."

Nah, maine coons are really that big.

My dad's friend who lives on a farm had 2, they didn't bring home rats or pigeons, they caught adult seagulls and brought them to the doorstep.

I thought we had things bad, these cost about 50p in the uk iirc

It really depends on where you live, as here in SE Qld (Brisbane), prices in the supermarkets never reached those ridiculous prices..

However, in some places, lettuce really is that expensive, to the extent that McDonalds stopped using lettuce and switched over to cabbage in their burgers. Until cabbage also went through the roof.

Haven't a clue what they are using now.

The main reason is due to the major floods over the past few months which have wiped out agricultural crops in many areas.

Then add in the cost of transporting perishables due to sky-high petrol prices caused by the Ukraine crisis, and hey presto - $11.99 lettuce.
