I guess this is an old one but I've never heard it before! 
One night Bob is strolling along enjoying the evening when he sees a drunk guy on his hands and knees under a streetlight. He walks over and asks the drunk what he's doing, and the drunk replies, "I've lost my contact lens."
Bob's a nice guy so he offers to help, and after 20 minutes of them both looking, he says to the drunk, "Are you sure this is where you lost it?"
The drunk gestures to the other side of the street and says, "No I lost it over there."
Bob says, "So if you lost it over there, why were you looking for it over here?"
The drunk replies, "Because the light's better over here."
