Hi Guys, I am new here and have been rather a silly boy and opened an account with what I believe to be a scam casino called 'the red lion casino' which claim to be licenced in Curacao but when I email the e-gambing commision in Curacao they have never heard of this casino. They seem to offer all the games and services (netbet) that are not to be offered in the UK. they dont seem to show their licence number presumably because they don't have one.

I opened it because I am on gamblock and I am self excluded myself from UK bookmakers as I am a problem gambler but that is a different story. I deposited many times to the tune of 2000 over 2 credit cards and they show as a dodgy transaction company in Moscow on my statement. I played and won some money which I wanted to withdraw (1500) and I went to make a withdrawal and I was told by their customer services £500 was the maximum and only withdrawal at a time dispite their own 'terms and conditions' saying that 10k was the maximum monthly withdawal limit. they just see to make up the rules to suit them. this took days and days of emailing them to withdraw it so I could get my money back and I kept getting told it will be done ASAP. and being the problem gambler I am kept playing heavily and lost it all. One of the deposits I made was for £300 and I when I logged onto my online banking they took another £300 without adding it to the bettings account, I asked them to cancel it and put it back into my credit card account they said they couldnt and that they have credited my bettings account and I have to wager it atleast once to then withdraw it and of course I lost that too.

I am fully aware how stupid this all is but having read some things on here I may be eligle to chargeback those transactions on the grounds that they don't have a uk licence and they offer all the rigged netbet games they shouldn't in the UK.

I have raised a chargeback on all these transactions and received them back into my 2 credit card accounts and raised the dispute with all the information and emails from the curacao commission etc, my question is what are the chances of a successful chargeback on these grounds? they have reversed the transactions but what are the chances of them just readding them once theyve spoken to the merchant and they say i'm bang to rights. Like I say I am very aware I have been stupid and I should write the money off to experience but if I can get the money back and the games I was playing were rigged then it is unfair.

Please be kind :)

Easiest way to dispute the transactions if Credit Card company gets funny is to point out we are not allowed to use Credit Cards for gambling in UK so transactions should not be allowed.

Anyway since noone else has mentioned it do you really think it is a good idea to have Credit Cards with that sort of limit if you cannot control your spending. You did the correct thing by registering for Gamblock. But then went looking for dodgy casinos to play at using your Credit cards.

So what would you have done if the Casino had paid the winnings no Problem. Kept going back till you had maxed out all Credit Cards got yourself deeper in debt and then tried to charge back anyway.

Think now you have managed the Chargeback you should be thinking...

Give it a few days and see what they come back with but I can copy and paste an email i got from the curacao gaming commission who they claim to be licenced by and they days they have never heard of them, the key to getting tour money back is that you didn't receive the 'service' you were supposed to get and that they have pirated games and they dont let you take your money out.

I would suggest emailing them and outlining that you know they are a scam outfit, and that you want to withdraw all your deposits because it is not a level playing field and that they're unlicensed etc. This show the bank that you've given the company a reasonable opportunity to resolve the dispute (because that's all the bank cares about) and then you can approach the bank with that email whether you get a reply or not with some proof of trying to resolve.
please can u send me a copy of this

Here its is as below, as long as you have asked the casino to resolve the dispute between you and you dont believe they have given you the correct service based on the fact they're a scam then you have a case. This is the way banks have to do it. Barclaycard sent my chargeback request if to the russian company yesterday and I'm hoping for the best.

Hi,

Like WorriedDave I bank with Monzo and made a series of deposits with the RedLion Casino which showed up as 4 different merchants on my bank statement, all similar to ones shown previously like:

Dournjoye
Huanoin
Hchodsrs
Leshanmall

I made 7 deposits that totalled £700 between the 29/11/20 - 04/01/21.
After reading this thread I contacted Monzo and highlighted the transactions as fraudulent without stating they were from an online scam of a casino. They responded and said they were closing my account and could not refund the money given the timescale and data.

I was completely taken back by their reaction, especially about closing my account, so I stated they were from a rogue casino and taken by 4 different merchants and in Chinese yen.

They have escalated this to another team and I will hear back from them in 4 days.

Any thoughts on what you think the outcome will be?

Thanks

I deposited totally almost £2000 with those scammers , and done some research as it was unusual for me to lost to much and have no winnings at all , I found this tread , phoned my bank , lloydstsb bank in UK , within one hour I had all money back to my bank account so all deposits for last few months were returned to me.

Great result.

Did you tell your bank it was an online fraudulent casino? What was there view on it as I know some banks will not chargeback / involve themselves with gambling.
I said I did not recognise those transactions as I was depositing to online casino in same time but those transaction do not relate to gambling - they are for some doggy shops or weight loss pills websites.
Also - I was saying with full confidence that this is scam website without any licence and that website which pretend to be casino is involved in international money laundering operation ( and those information's are available online ) that why all charges going to different payment gateways and I don't want to be a part of any further investigation related to money laundering.
- 15 minutes and I get all my money back from those scammers

Glad to hear it dtr. Barclaycard wouldn't do a section 75 misrepresentation claim which is unbelievable because it is literally the definition. I complained and they're putting it to the merchant and placed temporary credits on my account. Fingers crossed they dont rebuff the claim and I win after 60 days.

Hi all!

After reading through all these I instantly got on to the bank last night after as you can guess I've done the same thing.

My only question is I had only 2 payments come out under false payment gates (hchodsrs and leshanhall) but the rest was gumplay.

Has any one else encountered gumplay? I have 8 payments made through gumplay and already 3 have been reversed.

Any information you could give would be great.

Thanks.

Dan.

I’ve had £2500 in total withdrawn now, deposited roughly that in, still got 3500 to withdraw but I haven’t made a bet from the 29th of December so we’ll see was thinking the same thing but they seem to be processing £500 every couple of days now
The £2500 that you have had withdrawn did they do all of them in the 2 days each time? Have you managed to get the rest out of them? Bit curious on this one.

The thing is though. Once they start to see all the chargebacks. I reckon they will already notice them. Their accounts will eventually get blocked or frozen or added to blacklists. Also if this rogue casino is actually doing those £500 withdraws every few days like @say no to gambling said....... then they will also seize to be processed once they realize they no longer have the funds to pay out because of all the chargebacks and fees they incur as a result of the chargebacks.....

I hope this rogue casino gets shut down once and for all. It is shocking how many problem gamblers get this desperate to gamble that they get sucked into and enticed by these very dodgy and rogue casinos......

If you are a problem gambler. I really think you need to stop using the internet altogether if you can not control yourself. If GamStop is not enough. Then the only thing you can then do is block yourself from using the internet. I know that is drastic. But it is upsetting to see soo many problem gamblers struggle and then post on CM when they get stuck at rogue casinos.

I hope everyone who has done chargebacks all get them sorted and they get full refunds too. Good Luck all. Stay strong :)

Hey everyone, I'm super confused. So I also used this casino on Monday. I deposit £100 twice and when I was down to mu last £50 I noticed some of the games glitching. Example - Starburst, the symbols were black. So I googled the casino with a funny feeling in my stomach.

I of course came across this thread and immediately thought F**K. So I increased my bet sizes to just get rid of my balance then go wallow, but I end up winning just over £700. So I sent in my verification docs and sent a few emails asking how long the process takes. The next morning they had replied advising I was now verified. So I went and pledged a WD of £500 (the max they would allow). I left my remaining balance and emailed again just asking how the WD process was.

I had zero hope and had been checking this thread everyday. Was sitting on raising a chargeback, but thought I'd give it until end of the week. Any email I have sent, they have replied fairly quick. I was advised my WD will be pending for 'up to 72 hours'.

The next day - Wednesday, I checked my pending withdrawal and it had gone, so I pledged the remainder of my balance (just over £200) and sent them another email asking if the reason my wd was no longer pending was because it was processed.

They replied within 10 mins and the email seemed pretty dodgy. 'I apologise for this, I imagine you are frustrated. We promise to get you your money. We process thousands of withdrawals a day.' So again I thought, F**K. Just seemed dodgy, an over reaction and didn't answer my question. Even the 'we process thousands of withdrawals a day' part made me think something definitely isn't right.

I checked my bank this morning and still nothing. I checked my pending withdrawals on the casino page and the one just over £200 is still pending. I randomly checked my bank there now and the £500 has been paid in! I too had the deposit transaction show up as random names, Leshanmall and Gumplay. Really not sure what is going on with them, but I just wanted to let you guys know my experience

Is your account still open or is it restricted now?

Sorry to be yet another tool falling victim to this outfit. I'm a very Worried Hamster.

My bank won't help me. Said I should talk to Trading Standards. (Natwest).

I've saved all the evidence on this thread relating to them being shady. Not sure what to do next.

The end.

Not sure what Trading Standards can do tbh as these places are based abroad etc; unless they've got James Bond International jurisdiction :p
