Proof (?) that stopping the reels doesn't change the outcome?

Since the old balance jumping act on a certain game-data-stream-server-company, I have noticed 1 thing

1) I spin the reels
2) The balance goes down
3) The balance quickly (I think instantly is a better definition, but there are those who argue nanoseconds) either does not move, or JUMPS upwards to a higher balance
4) If you let the reels spin, you eventually arrive at a winning combination that puts you to the balance that was just flashed to you at the beginning of the spin
OR
5) You stop the reels, and you get the exact same winning combination that puts you to the balance that was just flashed to you at the beginning of the spin.

I must wonder no more.....stopping the reels...on a NetEnt game (Spinata Grande to be exact) does not, will not and can not change the outcome of the spin.

Mystery solved, we can all sleep at night now!

Whatever you are smoking. Seriously, step away from the pipe.

When I played the MG's some years back, during play one night the balance would increase before the reels stopped.

Casino softwares would be laughably vulnerable to hacking if wins/losses were determined locally (on your computer by the reels). People would quickly figure how to make an app that sends the right "winning" message to the server and your balance would go up.

It's the server that decides if you win or lose and then it sends the result to your software to show it to you (it will show you by moving the reels). Once you have received the result and it starts spinning, stopping the reels or not won't change a damn thing.

That's like opening an envelope to read a letter; the letter inside will remain the same regardless of how fast you are opening the envelope.

The spin becomes stoppable only after software at your end has received the results from casino server. This is why the delay is always after starting the spin, the spin button might be grayed out for long time and you can't click it again to stop the spin for a while, because the software at your end is waiting the results from casino server. But after the spin has become stoppable and you choose to stop it, there is never any crazy delays unless the software at your end is crashing. Stopping the spin only affects how fast the results your computer already received are shown to you, so of course it wont affect the results.

Its all in the mind. I myself can play on autoplay for ages with no feature and then just start hitting the start button and stopping reels. Many times I seem to get a feature doing it. But I would have got the feature anyway if I hadn't stopped reels.

The balance showing when you hit spin is something that has been happening for years on different platforms.

I used to hate tomb raider secret of sword as often when you hit start the balance showed what you would win before reels span. Took the fun out of it as if you hit 2 scatters you already knew if you had got free spins or not. There was several other MG slots that did the same. Not sure if it still does as its not a game I play anymore.

While it should not be considered like a skillshot - from certain fruit bandits (Alladins cave & Step-a-Fruit) for example (Lost? 80s games)

I'm not sure it should be ignored completely, the random is for a certain bet @ a certain time, so zombie playing; clicking start stop like theres no tomorrow may work in your in your favour or it may NOT, probably best not to click start stop reel crazy, cause you'll probably just lose quicker & get RSI :D

I have a friend who I see once in a blue moon who plays MG games.

He once asked if he could have a quick 'punt' from my PC on a visit the once, to which I obliged no problem.

Best thing I ever did, he plays IR in the main and I noticed once he'd got 2 scatters and the remaining reels were doing the elongated teaser spin, he grabbed the mouse, put his finger on the screen and was bashing the hell out my button as he tried to stop the 3rd scatter with the 'stop' button.

Without a care in the world for my poor mouse I burst out laughing asking what the fcuk are you doing, he told me you can 'skill stop' the 3rd scatter. Too many times he shouted 'that was there, the reel symbols totally changed' (go figure huh!)

Ain't gonna bore you with the rest but to be brief it lead to a great reason for my to take the pee at every opportunity :D :D

Happens to me with a fair few Netent games but not with MG.

Very, very annoying. Like you said, takes the fun out of it.

Balance updates before stopping on MG as well for many games......

may have been mentioned elsewhere but in IR the Spin becomes a grayed out Spin when Wild desire is given, it doesn't change to Stop, so you pretty much know the instant you click on spin :):)

Just to add that stopping the reels will not affect the spin that you are on but it can make a difference to your overall play, if you stop the reels you will probably start the next spin a bit earlier than you would therefore getting a different result from the RNG. Could be better, Could be worse.

It's very rare I disagree with anything on here but I'm going to now lol (in the best possible friendly way of course)

From what I was lead to believe, outcomes of spins are determined 'X' amount beforehand.

Therefore whether its, normal spin, quick spin, start/stop etc etc, the outcome for that particular wager will always be the same as it was going to be.

Isn't that the point exactly of this post? I am a tad confused.... are you agreeing or disagreeing with the OP, handsome devil that he is?

:)

lol, I was disagreeing with the post above my post before this one:what::what:

I think I already posted in this thread, need to go and check what I originally put now....

Yup! - My original post agrees with you OP, I was disagreeing with Quber's post

Quber is actually right. The numbers aren't queued up or produced on demand. The RNG's produce numbers continuously, ten's of thousands a second, when you press spin you get whichever number has been produced at that particular moment in time.
So if you have stopped the reels on one spin, the next time you press spin, you will most likely be doing so, slightly earlier than if you had let the previous spin run it's course. Even pressing spin a fraction of a second earlier or later will give a different spin, be it good or bad

A Casino Butterfly Effect, I hope that cosmically it leads to me hitting a Wildline on DOA right....about......NOW~!

My 3 wildlines and 5 scatters came using autoplay as did all of blathaons almost 100 wildlines and 15 or so 5 scatters. Autoplay is best leave the button alone. It will muck about with your brain and drive you potty trying to stop scatters etc.

Using autoplay doesn't make you more likely, or even less likely to win though. It just plays the game automatically.
Maybe blathaon ALWAYS uses autoplay. But that doesn't necessarily mean he wouldn't have won the same if he played manually.
It doesn't matter if you get the scatters from a manual spin or an automatic spin, because once the bonus game starts it spins the reels automatically anyways.
I've had about 25 wildlines and 5 scatters 6 times now, I'd say 1/3 were from a manual spins and 2/3 from autoplay. But I probably use autoplay 2/3's of the time
