Don't say that... Touch wood!
I got the email from Tropez earlier this week that my account is closed due to them pulling out of Canada. The mass exodus begins lol.
some playtech casinos had already left australia (ex: betfred)
But didn't BetFred open a new casino for players from OZ? I seem to recall there was an email, but maybe it hasn't happened yet.
It's a pretty weird situation when a giant corporation like Playtech can't solve local problems in countries where online gambling's always been legal... and when New Jersey casinos just launched in-state online... and when the rest of America is gambling off the radar anyway. It's just like prohibition times.
Now we all know America's got that crazy puritanical streak, runs right through it, they'll ban anything looks half fun because half the people shout "Jesus" and the other half are selling it back to 'em, whatever they felt guilty for, for twice the price on the sly. I call that capitalism. But I never figured those pinko Canadians would take to it.

"Pinko Canadians"...really?
Sorry if this question is stupid but whats a Pinko .
That is a terrible word to call someone I would also love to see what would happen if
he calls Max one
i didn´t get an e-mail with that new casino, also is not available on their affiliate site.
i only received the e-mail saying that betfred no longer accepts players from australia at a few months ago
to be fair, Canadians DO generally have left-wing and socialist tendencies, but you can't paint a whole nation with one brush
it would be akin to saying all Americans are war-mongering right-wingers - it's just asking for trouble
Heh. Just to be clear... that was sarcasm!! I was making a parody of a certain American type. (I also don't think banning things and then taxing them to death is "capitalism" -- that was a joke too). You know, there are a lot of people in America who vote for "moral" politicans who ban online poker, and these are often the same people who say America's the freest country on earth and Canada's a socialist nanny state. I guess maybe you have to be from America to get how crazy it is. But I wasn't tryin' to insult any Canadians!

This is all very well, but as we know from earlier situations, you do not necessarily call the shots on this, Playtech do.
Could you please give us a list of all the casinos which are owned by Playtech? No they don't. In this case, it is down to the casinos. The ones that pulled out were Playtech-owned.

Playtech bought Euro Partners in 2011. All 5 Euro Partner licensee casinos are on Not Recommended list because of predatory progressive terms, 9.9k euro withdrawal limit kinda sucks if you hit progressive worth of millions. So it seems that Playtech allows this kind of behavior even with the casinos most closely associated with them...

Not Recommended Casinos has all the 5 Euro Partner licensee casinos listed.
Casino Bellini
Vegas Red
Titan Casino
Europa Casino
Casino Tropez
Euro Partners has more than 50,000 affiliates on its network, making it one of the most powerful marketing, acquisition and retention businesses in the online gaming industry. Therefore this acquisition will strengthen Playtech's position as a single source supplier of online gaming solutions to new entrants in regulated and soon-to-be-regulated markets. The current Euro Partners licensees include some big operators in the online casino industry, such as Casino Tropez, Europa Casino, Titan Casino and Vegas Red Casino. It is in advanced discussions with a number of additional potential licensees.

After the presentation of the annual results Playtech chief executive Mor Weizer said the acquisition of Euro Partners would give Playtech direct contact with operators and also direct communication between the operators and their customers. He however clarified that this deal would not classify Playtech as a fully fledged operator. Hence there was no danger of it becoming eligible for additional taxation in various markets.
No they don't. In this case, it is down to the casinos. The ones that pulled out were Playtech-owned.
It's similar to the mess that was the intercasino pull out from Canada, which also left players with unfinished WR after sincere assurances from CS the day before that there was absolutely no intention of Canadians being banned altogether. It began with Canadians having problems claiming the monthly bonus, and having to get CS to add it manually. It was clear that the decision had already been made, but was deliberately kept from players before the actual lock out of their accounts..

When did this take place? Dec 4th the Intercasino rep announced a hamper contest for new members signing up through CM. It's been quite a while since I've played, and I haven't received any notification.
I did try to log into my account (which I've not used in some time) after reading VWM statement, and I get a message "We are upgrading your casino to a newer version. We hope to see you soon in our new and exciting casino product".
It's been months since I've played Intercasino, so I have no idea how long it's been like that.
