I am a big fan of blackjack and play at a land based casino 2-3 times a month.

I like to play online, unfortunately now Australian's don't have access to live blackjack and are forced to use the shitty netent and felt blackjack games.

Blackjack is pretty straight forward once you understand the strategies behind it but online blackjack has no strategy at all. Its completely random. Netent blackjack games have four decks but the cards are shuffled after every hand. With online blackjack their is no shoe or card waiting. Its just a random card.

My issue is noone can clearly define how these game works. I have been told previously that the results are predetermined much like a slot machine, yet other casino reps advise it changes as per your hand decisions ie Stand, Hit etc.

For me there is a couple of questions that noone can answer.

    1. Is Online Blackjack predetermined ie as soon as I press deal is it already determinded that I win or lose

    2. Do my Ods of winning (increase or decrease) if I lower or increase my bet

    3. If I make an alternative action during the hand (ie double down) will this alter the result from what it would have been if I had just pressed hit.

The reason I mentioned this is I was losing regularly on Felt Blackjack ( Buster Blackjack and Lucky Lucky ) every time I double down I would lose. I then started to keep track over the last two days my double downs. I double down on 64 wagers on felt and lost 58. I had ten or eleven every time and the dealer had between 4-6. Its statistically very unlikely that this would happen. When I just hit on ten or eleven in the same situation this happened 92 times and I won 68 times. These results were over a number of sessions and while they are a small sample size it made me change my playing style as I stopped doubling altogether.

I have since given up online Blackjack; its incredibly frustrating, my neighbours are probably sick of me yelling abuse at my computer and this dealer guy is just too good!

I don't know those sites - but that sounds WELL dodgy!

I only play blackjack very occasionally - using MG's Viper download client (at 32Red): I have no complaints about the fairness of their game as I often win ;)
Sorry, I know that doesn't help you now that MG is out of Aus...

Well it's at videoslots so I'm sure they are "legit" blackjack games. Perhaps Roulette is better just betting on red or black.
