Just a glimpse of what is happening over here at the moment.
The air quality is horrendous due to the smoke haze - almost unbreathable, and combined with very high temperatures (39C on Thursday) means no respite anywhere.
Close all doors and windows - the house is like a furnace.
Open doors and windows - the hot wind and the smoke haze makes the house virtually uninhabitable.
Get in the car using the A/C - the smoke haze gets in through the air ducts.
I don't have asthma, but by the time this is over, I reckon I will. Can't take deep breaths because of the smoke haze, and from morning to night all I can smell is smoke.
My throat is red raw from all the coughing from the smoke haze.
And now I am getting burned leaves floating down into the garden, due to the hot, gusty winds from the fires to the north, south and west of Coffs. Just a wall of fire everywhere, and eye witnesses say the worst of all is the sound as the bushfires race towards them, with some of the flames as high as an 8 storey building.
The Pacific Highway is blocked both to the North and South of here although Coffs itself is relatively safe. However the surrounding suburbs, including where my brother lives - not so much.
What a crisis - never seen anything like this. The photos of the devastation look like something out of a Hollywood Blockbuster. This really is Apocalypse Now! and the worst is yet to come. God Help Us.
The Lucky Country doesn't feel quite so lucky at the moment.

Other parts of the world are drowning.
Is this Climate Change or cyclic change that happens every millennia? Or is it due to overpopulation and technology causing an own goal?
