Did anyone watch Mr. T's address to the nation?

The US presidency has finally descended to the lowest level of reality TV. Plus, Mr. T's speech was one of the worst I have ever seen from a president/prime minister or other country leaders. No energy, no emphasis on keywords, just reading from the prompter. You could see he was itching to go off-prompter.

Was watching it and after the Dems had their speech, the program showed two emails sent by Mr. T's MAGA campaign for his 2020 reelection.

- the first sent before the speech said something like: "friend, donate now to the Secure the Border fund and you will be added to the list I will read after my speech."
- the second sent after the speech said something like: "friend, I could not see your name on my list but I will extend the time you can donate to the Secure the Border fund so you can be a patriot and make your contribution"

In the small print of both emails, it actually said: "The donations are going to the Campaign Fund Make America Great Again." So, they were implying there is a special fund but it all goes to Mr. T's re-election campaign. Typical tricks of a snake oil salesman or rogue real estate developer.

How much more brazen can you get? How longer can a good part of US citizens carry orange-tinted glasses?

Not to forget, he was lying through his teeth throughout the speech.


Also loved how Pency tried yesterday to spin Mr. T's lie referring to other presidents: "Some of them have told me that we should have done it".

Pency's words: "I know the President has said that that was his impression from previous administrations, previous presidents. I know I've seen clips of previous presidents talking about the importance of border security, the importance of addressing the issue of illegal immigration."

And that after all four living former presidents issued statements that they never spoke to Mr. T about the wall.

Why do you think he shut down the government? ---> deflection, nothing else.

He knows there is no crisis at the border, illegal immigration levels are at the lowest since the turn of the century. The only major difference is that you have now more so-called family units trying to enter the US instead of mainly male individuals in the early 2000s. Plus, he doesn't really care as long as he is at the centre of the show.

He needed a deflection because now hardly anyone speaks about Mueller anymore. Remember that in November the news came out that he actually dealt with his T Tower in Moscow until middle of 2016 not January 2016 as he insisted all the time, really implicating him of lying. Plus, the indictment as co-conspirator in Cohen's case and the boss of the Daily Enquirer getting immunity. You don't do that as a prosecutor unless you are getting something substantial.

So a deflection was just perfect for him. His speech on national TV would have been much more energizing if he really wanted that wall. Instead he was sniffing all the time like a cocaine addict and on top he sent out fundraising emails for is re-election campaign.

The latest hilarious rumour I read today on a German newssite is that they are considering Ivanka to be the new chief of the World Bank. Question is what banking qualification/experience does she have that she should be considered?

All these stories serve one purpose only --> deflection!

FACT – the reason why Americans have to worry about a government shutdown is because Obama refuses to pass a budget. (Aug 10th 2013).

And the latter ties in with his (now) infamous speech about the shutdown on Dec 11th:

But of course none of this applies to Trump today as he won't take responsibility for anything. And even worse, denies he even said some of his documented speeches/tweets, etc. How anyone can still support this liar and blowhard is beyond me.

Nothing wrong with wanting to protect your culture, heritage and way of life etc etc. Only a coward stands back and says nothing when such things might be at risk. Imo they will be opportunists once in larger numbers, and i wouldn't want to be you when walking alone at night as 8 of them turn a corner infront of you. I don't understand how an immigrant will change your way of life? How is your culture/heritage is in jeopardy? You do your thing...they do their thing as long as they follow the laws. Some of these immigrants breed like rabbits, they will even tell you so to your face (many vids of it). Some of these people are complete savages with a pretty poor iq to go with it.

Sure have better border security, but you really should listen to those who know about the issue. Have solutions based on experts' opinions. If they want a wall somewhere...build a wall there. If they need something else then do that instead. Trump doesn't know anything and he doesn't bother listening to anyone who actually knows what she/he is talking about. Trump doesn't have a solution for border security, healthcare, economy, foreign policy or for anything. He didn't even bother listening to republican solution for healthcare when Paul Ryan was trying to explain that to him.

I'm not defending illegal immigrants, but it's silly to blame the whole group 'cause one guy does something awful. Should we make those kinds of videos from victims in Las Vegas shooting? 58 really sad stories I'm sure and then assign blame to white people or 2nd amendment people or build up hate against both of those groups.
I want actual solutions to problems. Not these political theatre stuff that Trump is doing.

I talk to immigrants all the time. They work at the 24 hour gas station down the street. Have for years. I talked to a guy in the day time from Morocco, I overheard him speaking 4 languages, French, Spanish, English and Arabic. He works 60 hours, its a 12 hour shift standing up, in small variety shop the size of a loo. The Moroccan gets free healthcare from the state because he has 2 children.

Matter of fact, last Nov, it was 11 year anniversity of my Fathers passing. When I went in there I asked him about his parents, he said he has not seen them in 7 years, on my way out I turned and said, Derby what are you doing, go see your parents. The next week he was gone, I asked where he was and they said he went home to see his parents. He was gone a month.

Weekends, at the same variety shop I talk to a young man from Guatemala, nice kid, he's 23 been here since he was 13, has a daughter. Last year he tells me he doesn't file tax returns. Didn't ask why. Same 12 hour shift, standing up.

Right now I'm heading down there to chat with a guy from Argentina, he also works week nights part time, Same 12 hour shift, standing up and works part time taking care of the elderly during the day. Married 2 kids.

Outside there are 5 Latino guys pumping gas. They don't say much.

I listen to experts all the time on border security. They say the wall will help.

Aside from the native Americans its the US constitution that makes American's American, the country is a melting pot of immigrants, always has been. Its the constitution that binds the country. That's why it has significance.

I’m all for border security. I’m all for better immigration laws...

That officer’s brother was heart wrenching to watch.
The parkland students describing seeing their friends being murdered was also heart wrenching.
The parents of those small innocent sandy hooks having to identify their kids was heart wrenching.

Every death whether one or 100 is awful. But taking one death and making it into a political cause to suit the narrative is abhorrent.

Shutting down the government over a border wall is not a solution. It’s irresponsible.

both sides need to get their act together. stop with the games. stop the lobby groups and big money donations...enough is enough.

The Republican hardliners in 2013 were not going to allow any illegals a pathway to citizenship which was part of that bill if I remember correctly.

The Dems now aren't the 2013 Dems, they've moved so far left.

I don't understand how an immigrant will change your way of life? How is your culture/heritage is in jeopardy? You do your thing...they do their thing as long as they follow the laws. If they don't, then they should be punished just like everyone else is. I wish we had harsher sentences for criminals here in Finland but that's another discussion.
You gave a good reason why people shouldn't have guns. Someone like you might start shooting people 'cause you get scared without a good reason. Like many police in US shoot scary looking black guys even if they do nothing.

Think its a bit unfair to call them cowards. Alot of people worldwide feel the same about these "oh so scary people" (as do alot feel the same as you). Nothing wrong with wanting to protect your culture, heritage and way of life etc etc. Only a coward stands back and says nothing when such things might be at risk. Imo they will be opportunists once in larger numbers, and i wouldn't want to be you when walking alone at night as 8 of them turn a corner infront of you. I certainly would appreciate a gun if i was though.
But hey im not american, just don't wish to see my grandchildren scared of going out alone and walking on the streets here in the uk that my grandfather fought for and his friends died to protect.
If you had seen the unedited version of the 2 girls in morocco for example, where one girl who was clearly raped, before having her throat cut on camera as she screamed "mooooom" in desperation at the top of her voice., it might shake you up a bit to. Yes, its just one case (though who knows how many dont get covered since, as usual, the media tried to spin that differently as well)

The media is a joke, all of it. The latest MAGA kid versus the native has been spun to look completely different. There's a (i think over 1 hour long iirc) video recording out there of the incident, literally proving that what the media said about the trump supporter being racist and provoking is a load of bollocks, and of course, the kid has since been doxxed by leftests who eat all this media garbage up daily... so you could say if something happens to him as a result of angry antifa mobs who cannot think for themselves, finding out where he is, it is the bullshitting media who should be held responsible for what happens to him. But of course, they won't be.

I only saw the last 1/2. We'll see if Pelosi and the Dems will double cross him like they did to Reagan and Bush.

I didn't follow to politics back then but I remember when Reagan legalized 2 million people, 5 million showed up.
I was driving in Watertown, (ie.. Boston Marathon Bombing Shootout location) and looked around said to myself "where did all these foreigners come from."

This is why I say encouraging illegal immigration is a bad thing, it leaves these people with few economic opportunities.

The result is DACA, well, you are still dealing with it today. They could have found a compromise and there would be far less problems today. But as usual the Republicans had no plan that they could propose instead of the bipartisan bill from the Senate. Just like with ACA and other things Republicans have tried to gut in the last few years. They're trigger-happy to gut but have no plan to put something better in place.

Really? Funny how you will always find a way to blame it on the Dems. I don't see that move, you will always have moderate and more extreme factions in all political parties. Or do you think part of the Republicans did no move far to the right?
