Biden up in Gerogia by small numbers.

And below is the reason why this is going to be the ugliest election ever seen.
He has everything to lose, so imo he will do anything he can to stay as President.

If Biden had gotten 300+ electoral votes and 52% of the popular vote on Election Night, the story would have been a decisive victory. Because states took their time to do this right + count all the votes, the perception is that it's closer.

But because the GOP in certain states forbid the votes to be counted beforehand and in certain states actually brought them to court to have them not counted before Election Day we are now watching the mail in ballots being counted i. Real time.

the mail in ballots favour Biden something like 72/28%.

again, Trump told his voters not to vote this way. And also brought some states to court to have the votes not counted before Election Day. Setting up the scenario we are now in.

Its pretty telling that almost everyone is abandoning Trump now.
No Republican wants to be associated with what hes doing now.
When even fox jumps ship, you know its bad.

Nooooooooooooooooooo

Blunt, who as Rules Committee chairman is heavily involved in inaugural planning, said he expects the election outcome to be concluded in the next 10 days or so.

How are biden's votes comparing to hillary last time out and obama's 2008 victory, & bill clinton's wins?

I've read that trump won more latino and black votes than in 2016, and 5 million more votes overall yet is going to be trounced by Joe, who had about 10 cars turn up for his rallies...it's not adding up for me I'm afraid.

On the other hand if there have been proper anti-fraud measures in place for the mail-in votes, then can't see how trump can reverse the numbers.

Arizona surely should have counted the votes by now what is going on there?

Biden has the biggest amount of votes in the popular vote in history I think.

Why isn't it adding up? Democrats understood not to go to rallies in droves, the organisations of the rallies had a max amount of people allowed at their events and people were asked to watch on livestreams instead. Do you think it's only possible Trump had a "silent majority"?

You answered the Arizona question yourself: due to proper anti-fraud measures most of the outstanding votes are those that have to be tallied manually because the machines couldn't read them.

Or they're just printing some more ballots for Joe.

Possibly the fact that more people then ever before voted is the reason that all these votes have appeared?
voter fraud hasn’t been proven and won’t be proven because it never happened, it’s a Trump conspiracy theory and it never existed .
But you will still get people who will not believe the result because they hang on Trumps every word.

Well no one on twitter that I've seen from the US has given that answer for the delay in arizona [and elsewhere] how come other states had managed a full count in 24 hrs, yet 72hrs now for these other places?

I wasn't implying they are printing ballots for Joe - I hadn't thought of that

There's always a number of ballots that will have be tallied manually, always been the case and will always be. Some states also require a mail-in ballot to be in 2 envelopes and the signature on the envelope and ballot has to be compared due to anti-fraud measures. This takes alot more time than putting them through a counting machine :)

Some states aren't allowed to open the mail-in and absentee ballots until after the last vote has been cast, other states are allowed to open them on election day in the morning and there's states that count them beforehand.

The printing thing was just a joke ;)

Exactly, and it is due to legislation in traditionally Republican states like PA prohibiting early vote counting that it takes so long to determine the final outcome. Plus, there's the verification stage before counting - so there's no doubt in my mind that the ballots that are being counted are genuine.

Let's talk about voter suppression instead...

Just watching someone from the Allegheny County, PA election board explaining on CNN why it takes so long to count those last "couple" of votes. Except the mail-in votes there's also the military vote which is apparently counted last. They're starting the last batch at 5pm local time and expect it to go through the night.

Didn’t Trump and the Republicans go to court in several states to make sure that mail in ballot votes couldn’t be counted until after the polling closed?
All part of his plan to get postal votes declared null and void as he knew the democrat leaning voters would use postal votes because of Covid.
That worked out well didn’t it Donald....

Like @Mouche12 pointed out some states decided to count them last, I'm not sure if any of them decided this after a lawsuit but that wouldn't surprise me at all...

Ofcourse Trump and his team did all this campaigning against mail-in votes with a reason but I don't know where they got the idea that they would be voided. Mail-in voting has always been a thing in the USA, just that this time around even more people used it like you pointed out.

Back in 2016, after Trump became President-elect, and indeed during the 4 years of his presidency, many people (I am assuming the Liberal base) refused to accept his election, the cry being "Not My President!".

Although Trump won the Electoral college votes, he lost the popular vote, a situation that has only happened once in modern times, with George W. Bush back in 2000, and this sat very uneasily with many people.

However, during Trump's presidency, the war cry of "Not My President!" became even more vocalised and widespread, due in part to his misogyny, numerous scandals (both sexual and financial), his attempted undermining of democracy, his friendships with some of the world's worst dictators, his handling of the Pandemic, his abrasive personality, his misleading, demeaning tweets, and of course, his lies.

And oh, how he lied - over 20k of them, according to Fact Checker.

Now if Biden becomes President elect, he will have won both the Electoral college vote and also the popular vote, but already some republicans have jumped on the "Not My President!" bandwagon.

I will go out on a limb and posit a theory as to why this is happening:

"Mail ballots, they cheat!" A conspiracy theory Trump has been spreading for months, encouraging his voter base to believe these postal votes are illegal, and the reason he lost the election. Therefore his base will never/find it very difficult to accept a president who won by such "fraudulent" means.

Your guy has won,
all the above no offence is a nonsense and a waste of time.

both sides cheat, it’s politics lol! It’s like saying a streamer has a moral compass..
of course they do not.

both parties are as corrupt and as dirty as hell, and no matter who’s box you tick your in the end getting the same outcome either way...

So again well done All whom wanted biden, I wanted trump... didn’t get it

tough shit me...

wont affect me or my daughter one bit, that’s my only concern, all this political discussion is just that... banter online.

Why? And what part?

You are entitled to your view of course. However I personally find dismissing a post as rubbish out of hand is rather belittling.
I didn’t claim for a moment your post was ‘rubbish’

I like to hear your point of view as always, I just personally don’t see how it serves a purpose is all.

biden has been the winner and will be president elect, that much was obvious before yesterday.

As a hardcore fan of trump and his policies conceded (sadly)

this conversation about fake votes, fraud and the like is utter BS from both sides, all it does is stoke further divisions (which you hate personally as accused trump of doing)

so why not just accept your man won, which he has and leave it at that?..

Don’t get me wrong I’m hurting trump lost, a lot..

but I’m not here crying wolf or moaning, it is what it is..

I don't get good vibes from Trump or Biden :(

Why am I in North Korea :eek2:

I pick Morgan Freeman :)

Sorry for the late quote been under the weather but i agree whole heartedly . There is something about Biden that i can't put my finger on that scares me. Trump IMO was something different altogether. I think I too would like any other candidate .

Wsj.com

Starting early Wednesday, the campaign and the Republican National Committee have been sending dozens of daily text messages and emails saying they need financial support to challenge voting procedures.

“We must PROTECT the Election!” says one campaign text Friday signed by Mr. Trump’s son Donald Trump Jr. “My father’s calling on YOU to help bolster our critical Election Defense Fund.”

Clicking through to the donation page, potential givers can review a disclaimer that 50% of any contribution will be used for general election campaign debt retirement and 50% for the campaign’s recount account.

Other Trump fundraising pitches in recent days ask for help to “protect the integrity of this election” but lead to a donation page for Mr. Trump’s “Make America Great Again” committee. The fine print on those solicitations says 60% of a contribution helps the campaign retire debt and 40% goes to the Republican National Committee.

Wonder how much funds they manage to raise with these campaigns

Why does it say your account is dormant? Lol you’ve been actively posting.

Trump is literally having a temper tantrum on Twitter right now.

I WON THIS ELECTION, BY A LOT!

Of course it gets fact-checked by Twitter almost immediately.

Here's a good analysis about how Trump fatally misjudged his reach.

He honestly thought he could boot this election up to the Supreme Court, and that Republicans across the country would assist him in calling foul on actually, y'know, counting all the votes.

I'm pretty sure that even he didn't think he can do much and is just what he can. All possible arrangements were done in states to get votes announced in his favor in beginning and then claim victory and now be shocked how much rigged votes there are all over, even everything went pretty much like it should if you start to analyze which votes were counted where and when.

It worked quite well and made loads of people to react and honestly believe that he is winning, Bidens odds at BF exchange went somewhere 6 for while when people started to panic and save what they could from their Biden bets and many of course splashing money for Trump when for this very short time it looked that he actually could win after taking Florida and more importantly, how long it took to get any positive signs about Biden votes.

But was happy to back Biden at 4.6 when woke toilet some time very early :) Just wonder that this "Red moment" ever happened like it did as with little research it was quite clear which votes are announced in which order and now results looks pretty much what they were thought to.

There are no rebs left to fight with him anymore (yeah, of course few there and there), nobody gonna bet own millions to that horse anymore, doesn't matter what odds would be but Trump winning is just not realistic so no sense to stuck in that but forget this race and look further. Good in coming president is that he is not that impossible to tolerate to many republicans, dunno how you can make many people think Biden as communist but guess for some 95% of population are :)

To the American peeps, regardless who won (and sure duh, I wasnt rooting for Trump) I hope the next four years is a time your country heals and comes together and you all pull togtether.

Best wishes, truly <3

Ian Dunt summing up my feelings very well.

It'll be a while yet, but I can now imagine a day, a few months from now, when I won't have even have to think about Trump a little bit.
Quite apart from the politics, he was just one of the very worst human beings I've ever come across, a malignant infection in our collective psyche.
It's like a dreadful little cloud, raining shite, has been following us around for the last few years. And now it can fuck right off.

Trump is a dreadful, hateful person. Devoid of joy, of love, of empathy. A toxic void of all the worst aspects of humanity, a man who only believes he can win when someone else loses. A racist, misogynistic narcissist, a man who openly boasts about sexually assaulting women.

And now he has been shown the door.

Well done America. Today is a good day.
