" It could well be that at 10 o’clock on election night, Trump is winning in Michigan, he’s winning in Pennsylvania, he’s winning in Wisconsin, and he gets on the television and he says, ‘Thank you, Americans, for reelecting me. It’s all over. Have a good day.’ But then, the next day, and the day following, all of those mail-in ballots start getting counted, and it turns out that Biden has won those states, at which point Trump says, ‘See? I told you the whole thing was fraudulent. I told you those mail-in ballots were crooked. And we’re not going to leave office.’ So that is a worry that I and a lot of people have. "

Edit: its this:

For me, Trump slathered with cheese (not just one, but ALL the cheese) would be the ultimate victory.

Failing that, I'll settle for the odds on Betfair, on Biden.

I don't see any fraud - it's well known you go 1,2,3 etc for Trump ballots and then count up in Prime numbers for Biden.

I wouldn't object to postal votes [save army ones] being given the once over, there needs to be confirmation that everything is above board, that the people exist and voted via the mail in option. Because an anonymous system is open to abuse I would have thought, but if it's unorganised and small numbers probably makes no difference.

I think the bush gore thing came down to 60 voters or something small iirc [without using wiki] I can't see it being only 1 area that is highlighted this time.

I can see a plus sign in a biden presidency in that the media soap opera can be closed down, it's been unremitting for 4 years, gonna be interesting times what he does with his presidential powers.

In the end Gore gave up on all the lawsuits and Bush became president. We'll never know if Gore could've pulled it off.

Trump wanted to stop counting in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania last night but the count in Arizona should've kept going  The man never ceases to amaze.

Back in those days I think I wanted Gore to win, preferred him to clinton in their double act.

edit: And my gut instinst re dubya was right all along, in today's currency the equivalent of eric trump becoming president over andrew yang or beto.

Not sure what Acosta has to do with any of this. He's just bringing the news in this case which I'm forwarding, I could've used a tweet from someone else with the same exact message.
I wouldn’t class news and that rassclart in the same sentence.

think you guys on here will get your wish however and joe will win, so congratulations.

my making of things great again looks albeit over sadly.

will stick to corona cooking instead.

It isn't over until the last ballot is (re)counted :p

The Twitter handle says FOX, maybe that works better

For me personally it’ll be over, pointless delaying the inevitable.

the people will have spoken and that should be that.

respect democracy and move on.

This is in no way even close to being over, unless Trump flukes a win. He will not concede, he will not take defeat lying down and he will continue to fight through the courts, he will scream fraud, he will try every trick he can to cling on to power.
He will demand recounts in every state the Dems win by under 1%, he will keep on fighting and the only loser here will be democracy, the will of the people will be ignored until Trump has exhausted every avenue through the courts.

Democracy means every vote counts and especially in these tight races they need to count all votes.

Recounts usually only flip 100 votes one way or the other and I don't think any race will be that close but you never know!
I’m not going to dispute the vote or the count either way.
I’m totally against any of that nonsense, look at brexit for example, just accept the result and move on.

The ballots from the Electoral College must be casted before December 23. I don't know if there can be court cases beyond that point.

Bush v. Gore was decided early December 2000.

SIS what do you think? If trump gets arizona does he win?

I have absolutely no idea, his chances will go up for sure.

But the thing is with 390.000 of those ballots in Maricopa County (Phoenix area) it does seem a majority of these ballots will be cast in favor of Biden. Trump would need these votes to go 60/40 in his favor if I read it right and that's going to be hard.

The one time I'm hoping wikipedia is right on something political :p:

"Maricopa County has a long history of being a Republican Party stronghold"

In the past years alot of Californians moved to the Phoenix area, most of them being democrats that has changed the landscape. On top of that John McCain was a very popular man down there. Not saying it can't still go red but...

CNN called Michigan for Joe Biden.

Just a shame that Trump does not believe in this principle. Don't count any more votes if I am winning. Count the votes if I am losing.

Could we actually be on the path to seeing Pelosi, as the Speaker of the House, become President until this farce is resolved?

I can’t personally speak for trump (sorry)

just my own view, which stated a few timeis I won’t be questioning anything.

I will accept what the people chose.

should this be biden then it’s biden.

i won’t be calling foul on anything.

when people (trump) included, the brexit lot etc go against the people and the vote then I find that a disgrace.

also ease up, no need to be so tetchy..

you live in a gorgeous place, enjoy life rather than let what’s happening in the states worry you, it certainly ain’t me my love.

Just watched Biden's speech, and he made one very good point.

"... there will be no red states or blue states just the United States of America."

With the current unrest in the USA, that might be more difficult to implement. However, at least Biden's heart is in the right place, unlike Trump who only ever was interested in the Red States, as his behaviour towards California when it was burning testifies.

And now of course, Giuliani is ranting and raving about voter fraud, and our ABC News 24 has just said it is going to 'address the lies that Giuliani is saying'.

You couldn't have been any more patronising if you had tried.

And follow your own advice... enjoy life rather than let what’s happening in the states worry you,

I see joe has taken Michigan,

as said earlier, congratulations to those who wanted this result.

As far as I’m concerned that is that, the USA has spoken and they have a new leader.

a new chapter, let’s see how it works out.

clock-watchers; you can get some rest :)

Arizona's Maricopa County will release two batches of poll results tonight

  • The first batch will come at 9 p.m ET / 7 p.m. MT
  • The second will come at 12:30 a.m. ET / 10:30 p.m. MT
If Biden takes Michigan, Arizona, Nevada (expected) it's game over and Penn becomes irrelevant;

As @mack341 said earlier, if Biden does win, it will be interesting to see how the MSM react, and what path they choose to go down if they no longer have Trump to target.

Even if he (mostly) deserved a lot of the criticism thrown his way, it was very unnerving to read at times.
It was the most biased and frankly witch-hunt related treatment of a politician in history.

of course he said some utterly crazy things, may have stoked division (depending how you take it)

but it was never impartial coverage from the MSM.

all this is now irrelevant, we will see joe take office that’s without question.

I just hope he can bridge America’s divide like trump apparently couldn’t, maybe he’s the messiah they have been missing... time will of course tell.

i have family in Florida and Colorado, planning on visiting next year after this virus has gone, just hope America is a better place to show my little girl.

I just want to clarify that a comment I made earlier, and which Playford unfortunately read as a criticism, was actually anything but. His comment was:

the people will have spoken and that should be that.
respect democracy and move on.
I responded with:
Just a shame that Trump does not believe in this principle. Don't count any more votes if I am winning. Count the votes if I am losing.

What I should have said, and which would have removed any ambiguity, is this:
Very well said.

Just a shame that Trump does not believe in this principle. Don't count any more votes if I am winning. Count the votes if I am losing.

So I apologise, Playford7, for making a comment that appeared to be undermining your belief in a principle that I also firmly believe in - the voice of the people - a point that I have made in some of my earlier comments.

I’ve no problems at all with you, as If you look elsewhere on the forum I’ve spoke nothing but highly of you, as I’m sure your aware.

i feel strongly also, I’m not one to mince my words.

but on this occasion I’ll hold my hands up and declare my horse lost, tough shit me...
I’ll live..

I just won’t be going down a road of ‘it’s the Russians’

‘they didn’t know what they voted for’

‘it’s a con’

‘we been cheated’

If biden wins he wins, end of story.

thankyou for responding however, as I’ve said I appreciate one who speaks her or his mind, and despite our many abundant differences I do like you as said on another thread which you may have read.

It’s of no concern to me whether the feeling is mutual as I think your cool regardless.

you should not worry about your trip to the USA..
you will see that Americans are far more kinder and nicer than what the media portrays them to be. Don’t forget to take her to Disney! you will love it. Florida despite how it is portrayed in the news is wonderful.

My family have lived in Florida and Colorado since the 70’s, my aunty and cousin are still there, with extended family.

i have been numerous times and if it wasn’t for the fact I’ve Isabelle I’d happily re-locate.

always found the people wonderful and welcoming.

I’m not worried, that was poorly written on my part, just wish there was not the division we see now.

My aunt Mary is about 40 mins from international drive, done Disney, universal and wet and wild over 3 times lol!

fantastic and literally life memories every time, and that’s when I was in my 30’s lol!

for Isabelle who’s only 6 she will find it magical.

they also have a place at Daytona beach, been there twice and loved that also, gator world was immense!

Colorado, where my cousin Janice is looks beautiful but I’ve not been as yet.

plan is 3 weeks back end of next summer if all goes to plan and this bloody virus fucks off.

sorry stevie, my comment wasn’t about the American people, my family are Americans and I class them as my own.

only place that doesn’t appeal is New York for some reason.

Maine id also love to visit (for the seafood) and New Orleans for the history and culture.

god bless the USA

I couldn't resist not replying to this, since my favourite place in the US is New York :p (together with San Francisco and Portland (OR).

I like Florida too, but it's usually so damn hot, I almost had a heart attack in Miami once, after a heavy drinking night and having some Cuban coffee next morning (pure caffeine in August in Miami when hung over -> not recommended).

I agree with you Ben. It's a nice place to visit and always found the people really warm and nice. We too have family all over the country, Florida, Alabama, California and Nevada. Some are hc republicans and very conservative. Still family though :p

Aww. How could I not like this post.

It's not over yet - AZ could still flip back, and if Trump wins the remaining states that he is currently leading in, he will return. Or in his own (possibly) words: I'll be baaaack!

I feel the same about a Trump win. However, I will be very disappointed if he does, as I was hoping for an end to the madness that prevails in the US at the moment.

However, already some of Trump's supporters are causing trouble, so if Biden wins, will the Right will cause the same ruckus and grief throughout his presidency that the Left/antifa have subjected the Trump administration to?

As dion says, either way, a very interesting - if very bumpy - four years ahead.

Looks like Biden might even flip Georgia and it's 16 points - thatd be a kicker

' the margin between Trump and Biden has now narrowed to 1% with the latest batch, with Trump clinging to a small lead. '
