No matter what happens in the 2020 elections, I fear America is lost with no way back.
There is an article in today's DM by Pulitzer Prize winner David Cay Johnston, in which he believes it is still not beyond the realms of possibility that Trump could win the 2020 election. This is based on his analysis of Trump and his 'con artist behaviour', rather than failings within the Democratic Party, although that obviously will play a part.
Johnston points to the fact that millions of White Americans hold onto a simmering racism which is barely hidden, if at all. They believe non-whites are inferior, and should be treated as such. "They don't want to sit next to an Asian on a plane, work alongside a Latino, and God forbid having to report to a black female boss!"
And Trump's greatest strength is knowing how to pander to these people and their racist beliefs; how to engage with them by appealing to their base natures by tacitly validating their racism and hatred.
If Trump is re-elected in 2020, then I truly fear for the America of the future, which could become a pariah on the world stage.
But if he is not re-elected, then I dread to think what the outcome will be as many, if not most, of his supporters are bigoted zealots, who won't want to lose their 'privileges' of racial, religious and gender abuse that Trump encourages.
Note: David Kay Johnston wrote "The Making of Donald Trump" in 2016, and has been observing him for over 30 years, so presumably he knows the man very well.

I wonder how much of this 'white privilege', that I keep hearing about, have the people living in trailer parks benefitted from?
And I see looting is occurring in brussels today, is this also in the goals of black lives matter ?
edit: maybe SIS can translate the language at the end?

You don't think there's such a thing as a white privilege?

How about an answer to my question first
If the left [through their media and politicians] dedicate a lot of time to convincing people the sole and principle reason for their economic position in life is down to their skin colour [something they cannot change] what will be the end result: despair, riots and violence.
Why would people bother to even study if they are told continuously the cards are stacked against them and they will not get on in life due to their skin colour.
Winding people up just to get their votes at election time is a lot of what this is about, hence obama achieving very little change for the black community in his 8 years of being president; and the worse areas of rioting all in democrat run states/areas. A few sticking plasters and handouts aren't going to solve the social problems and they know it.
Someone should really tell them they are just imagining getting passed up for housing, jobs, getting profiled by police based on nothing besides the color of their skin etc. There was a question there? If you meant white people living in trailer parks...well that's not what white privilege is about. If you have equally educated people...then whites most likely get the job anyway instead of black people.
And black people get stopped by police many more times than white ones. Even Trevor Noah experienced that multiple times.
So you answer to me...is there a white privilege in your opinion?
And you really should start listening to black people. You keep listening to white people talking about black people. Doesn't really give a realistic picture don't you think?

Boy will they feel silly when they learn none of that happened to them, and it was just the gosh darn mainstream media all along.

Has Tucker even talked about black community and what kind of difficulties they face if any? Had any interviews with black people?

They grow based on how ridicilus the opposing argument is.These eyeroll pics keep getting bigger![]()
Dont emoji-shame me you sonovabeach! And my white problem is that the emojis are starting to be disturbingly big.

In london the police need to stop more black youngsters in order to crack down on the knife crime, which is killing mostly black youth, but because of the Politically correct dogma getting in the way, the police are unable to do their job effectively.
What about other non-white races going for a job, [korean, indian, vietnamese etc] is white priviliege harming their opportunities too?
At least 50% of the USA is democrat, in a country of 330 million, that's a lot of democrat business owners. With 15% of the population black; all the major firms are 'woke' or claim to be and support BLM, so I feel this problem of unequal opportunities is not as bad as you make out, there are other social problems in the mix too.
All this rioting being egged on and excused by liberal tv presenters and politicians is not going to help in any case.
So let's say even if 50% of the businesses (that are supposedly owned by liberals) don't discriminate in any way. That would still leave 50% of businesses that do discriminate...that would be a huge problem don't you think?
But tell me what would be your solution to these problems. Media should stop reporting about them and life goes on or what?
]My solution would be to vote old Joe and the liberal democrats in, there'll be sure to solve all problems and not make anything worse.
In the meantime sack all the white presenters on cnn and msnbc and give their jobs to black presenters to make up for all the years they gave the job to the white candidate above someone equally qualified but black. [I'm being sarcastic here but I bet a few people are nodding 'that's a good idea']
Well could you give me a serious answer? I'd really like to hear your solution.

No that is the solution, I heard it on the liberal msm TV so it must be true.
I'm off to play borderlands 2, I cannot cope with these giant emojis being aimed in my direction![]()
It's sad that you can't think anything that would help the situation. That's why the right-wing shouldn't have any power. You don't have any solutions to anything.
It should be you who offers the solutions then?
Repatriating jobs that were offshored during the clinton and bush years would be one solution, but the media and democrats are against this.
Trump wanted to build a wall to stop drugs and illegal immigration from mexico, things that don't help the black community, but he was shouted down as racist.
You could bring in a separate 1% tax on apple, amazon, starbucks, nike etc...and spend it on training or skilled apprenticeship jobs.
All this rioting being egged on and excused by liberal tv presenters and politicians is not going to help in any case.
I've been watching a fair bit of CNN during the protests and all of the primetime hosts have spoken out AGAINST the rioting: Anderson Cooper, Chris Cuomo and Don Lemon were all pretty critical about the "professional" rioters fucking it up for the mostly peaceful protests.
what about the social distancing and lack thereof in the peaceful protests, considering covid 19 has killed 100,000 people in the US, has this been brought up much ? [I haven't watched CNN other than clips]
It would be basically what Sanders offered...universal healthcare, free college. Taxes would go up but black people would have more opportunities. Less money for military, less money for the rich...cancel their tax cuts and really start helping people with that money. Trickledown economics don't work. That money needs to go directly to poor communities and help there with whatever they need. More training for jobs or some kind of job creation or whatever they need.
And for police brutality...you really need to start aggressively go after those bad cops and make it illegal to turn off body cameras. If body cameras are turned off intentionally and something bad happens...police is the one that should face charges at least (if it's he said/he said-situation). I don't know if they would face jailtime since the jury seems to always be on the side of the police. But at least they should get kicked out of the police force permanently. Not like this:

The guy who killed Floyd had 18 prior complaints against him and he was still there in the police force.
Do you think a bernie style revolution of change is ever going to be possible/realistic, basically turning the USA into canada I guess?
What about the drugs gangs, I think in the US there are about 2.3 million people in prison. [according to google] I think that gives an idea as to the scale of the social problems.
I realise you can't give a 1,2,3 step answer to that but the democrats could trial your system in one of their states and see how it goes. I think if there had been announcements to that effect, the riots/protests, would've died of sooner, but I'm convinced the democrats have been happy to have them simmer. practical solutions have not been very forthcoming from the liberal leaders and spokesmen on tv.
There has to be a serious reform of the tax system to begin with. @vorcirion touched on that subject. It's something that'll never happen under republican leadership as they don't want to hurt the top 1%. Hell, I don't even think the centrist democrats dare to.
Then there's the judicial reform: get rid of lifetime appointed judges, get rid of jury by peers, get rid of the inequality in drug laws (drugs that are predominantly used by black people have bigger punishments), get rid of the private (for profit) run prisons, change retribution into reformation and rehabilitation.
Schools receive money based on average results. I don't need to explain how this snowballs, schools in a bad district ("the hood") will get less and less money and have to cut after school programs that keep the kids off the streets, can't hire decent teachers,... while the rich folk schools get the same or more every year and can keep on upgrading their facilities and hire the best teachers. That badly needs to be reformed.
Anyway, there's alot more but this would be a start.
wow you really do research all this, I may be far more conservative but give credit where it's due you have looked into this and thought about it.
[The jury system in the uk is considered one of the pillars of justice btw]
I'm not sure how much leeway each state has regarding how they do things, but I can't see what is holding back the more liberal ones like california/san francisco from trying different policies. The only way to find out if they will work and have an effect.
According to the IMF, governments lose at least $500bn (£406bn) a year as a result of corporate tax shifting. And Gabriel Zucman of the University of California, Berkeley, and his colleaguesYou do not have permission to view link Log in or register now.that some 40% of overseas profits made by US multinationals are transferred to tax havens. In 2018, 60 of the 500 largest companies – including Amazon, Netflix, and General Motors – paid no US tax, despite reporting joint profits (on a global basis) of some $80bn. These trends are having a devastating impact on national tax revenues and undermining the public’s sense of fairness. [Joseph Stiglitz - guardian]
Year in year out that's probably a lot of money that could be used for resolving problems in society.
