My online slots videos (plus UK AWPs)

Dipping my toes back into the icy Donuts waters.

PS4 Pro/XBox One X/Nintendo Swtich video will be up next week goatwack :)

Your best video since your comeback. You're definitely at your best when you're trying to beat a bonus :)

FTR I don't have the exact stats with me but the free spins frequency on Bust the Bank is really low and on par with most BTG slots. It's probably the hardest MGS slot to bonus (but I'm not counting the piggy bank thing).

I feel like a right donut now, I said in the donut thread you get 12 extra spins if it retriggers and I think I might have influenced you to think the same, and then watching this vid I was dumbfouded to see its only 10, I blame the heat my brain is muddled, sorry chopley

No problem mack :) I only noticed myself when reviewing the video after it'd all been rendered out and it was too late to add any extra titles over the video to explain the discrepancy at that point!

Thanks Balthazar :) I much prefer playing with a bonus, as I can never help but think that without one, the whole endeavour feels fairly pointless as it's just MAN VS EMOTIONLESS RANDOM MACHINE WITH A GENEROUS HOUSE EDGE.

The emotionless random machine will always win in the end.

Would be interested to know what the actual free spins frequency on Bust The Bank is, and I agree it is rather high, but there are two other mini-bonus rounds in the form of the piggy bank and safe BONUS icons, which are good at tipping modest wins at the player on a regular basis, and break up the potential monotony of having to camp out the main feature trigger.

Donuts is fine when it's hitting the feature regularly, but at expected frequency or worse, it really is dire.

Bust the bank is lower than average microgaming bonus frequency that's for sure would hazard a guess at maybe one in 200-250 but it can be a very good bonus as demonstrated in the video, maybe somebody with a slot tracker subscription can find out for us.

My Bust the Bank memories are quite fuzzy, but I do recall being generously violated by it, quite often. It would not be unfair to say I lost £70 on it on minimum bets before bailing on more than one occasion. However, it is a well- produced slot at least, and still places higher than the HV/ Robbery slots that are BTG.

I've been witness to £140 to nought with Bonanza on minimum bets, with a rather scripted feel to the proceedings, and I'd bet my bottom dollar MG games, no matter what, would never allow that. So it is good to be reminded that better slots are still right under our noses, because it is quite easy to get caught up in the BTG hype machine :eek2:

I'm fairly certain it's considerably higher than that, it's a brutal slot to bonus. If someone feels like finding the actual numbers and post them here it would be appreciated.

Here you go goatwack :)

"We'll leave them on the shore I think" :axeman:

"Kratos is modelled on me using Motion-Capture"

Good stuff haha

That intro music kind of reminds me of Target Renegade for some reason.

Enjoyed that video, good to see the breakdown of the differing consoles, and catch some GoW footage. You're right in that the old games were bombastic hack & slash arcade brawlers, this new incarnation of Kratos is different but as you say, so very epic in scope and visual fidelity

I got all the references, I agree that Digital Foundry is excellent, as is Eurogamer, and the love for all things Nintendo. Graphics power, 4K, none of it compares to the 'fun' that Nintendo evoke with their products, and that has never changed over the years

I agree with the lack of exclusives on Xbox, I think they've conceded the console war a couple of years ago already, so now everything is pretty much cross- platform anyway. Never felt the Xbox One X worth the upgrade from my S, but seeing its power, I may jump onto that in time.

Surprised at your indifference towards Forza, from what I hear it's the shizz, though driving games aren't usually my first port of call. You mentioned Ps4 titles' superiority, have you ever played Last Guardian? I think Red Dead Revolver II will be quite the game, also.

Great video, hope to see more

Cheers goatwack not sure how the video will go down overall as I know some folks don't like it when a channel goes 'off topic' but I'm just following my nose a bit in terms of what to do a video on and I'm not up to much in the world of fruit machine emulation or online slots at the moment, still counting myself lucky after the reprieve I had last weekend!

Seems like we're on the same page overall when it comes to videogames :) (I love Nintendo games to pieces but IMO you definitely need another gaming system around as the Nintendo console is only ever really for those marquee Nintendo games, third-party stuff is better handled elsewhere.)

As for Forza I'm just not really a fan of 'sim' racers or indeed sim games overall TBH, I lean towards the more arcadey stuff.

Oh yes the music is a remix of Jonathon Dunn's title track for the Robocop game :) (Ariston used it for a washing machine advert, 'Ariston, and on and on and on'.

A reupload from 2012, when I made the incredibly wise decision to play four NetEnt progressive slots simultaneously.

This was a 250Eur deposit with a 100% match, to give a 500Eur bankroll on a 35xB WR of 8750Eur. A big ask on progressives.

NOTE - Wiseness of decision may have been overstated.

I enjoyed this vid a lot chopley, its nice to know there other adult gamers out there. Thanks especially for covering the noise angle as this is one of the big things I'm sensitive to, I might get an xbox one x rather than xbox one s, I hope they will do a red dead 2 xbox one x console package in october.

I still have a soft spot for sega having had the master system and mega drive when I was a youngster, playing the game soleil for days over christmas is a fond memory. With the power of today's consoles, I would love the old sega company back.

I wouldn't get too hung up on the noise of the PS4 Pro, if it weren't for me having the One X as well, which is almost spookily quiet, I'm not sure I'd have really noticed the Pro that much TBH. (Kudos to MS for the job they did with the One X though, very impressive.)

As for being an adult gamer, I'd say videogames are pretty much my first 'leisure time choice' and basically have been my entire life. Most of my mates are gamers as well and we do sometimes chat about whether or not we'll still be playing Battlefield online in our 60s :D

Sometimes people give me 'the look' when they discover that I'll cheerfully spend an entire evening sat on the couch playing a videogame, and I'm just like, 'Well what do you do in your spare time then, help find the cure for cancer?'

Oh and just for interest's sake, here's a 4K video I captured from the One X. (Only the One X is capable of capturing 4K.)

You need an external USB3 hard drive attached to capture 4K for more than 30 seconds, this is the raw footage uploaded straight to YouTube - it still looks pretty sweet even after going through the YouTube mangler.

On a big 4K telly 'in the flesh' as it were, it really is incredibly lush. (This is Burnout Paradise Remastered, which runs at 4K/60FPS - I got a good 30 hours or so out of this game! Despite having played it through twice before on 360 and then PC.)

Obviously you need to watch this on a 4K screen to get the effect, and make sure YouTube is set to 4K.

years ago I bought a sanyo vhs recorder and the buzzing sound from the fan drove me mad so ever since I have been sensitive to this kind of noise, and I was hoping to use the bluray/4k player function of the console and if the xbox one x [blinking mouthfull to say that] is near silent it pushes me towards that.

It is tempting to go for the ps4 pro because I do trust sony products/hardware with their long history more than microsoft. Knowing how these companies work, sony will probably release a ps4 pro slim with improved noise levels and fix that battery situation with the controller.

I might just buy the xbox one s as a stopgap, get the big cross platform games: gtav, fallout 4, red dead, fifa etc.. and by the time Ive played these hope the next generation consoles are out. The last console I owned was a ps one:eek2: so I've been out of the loop for a long time. I got a new pc in 2012 which allowed me to play skyrim, assassins creed etc.. but I want to be able to sit in front of the TV and play a few games on a larger screen. [I think I read somewhere that in the future xbox games were going to be pc compatible ?]

Another thing is I do suffer from the dizziness effect some video games can induce, so I can only play a game for an hour or two. Doom on the old psone was terrible in that regard, I often felt billious playing that .

Lastly, now that you've got your tripod, will there be a few more gaming vids in the future? [accepting that its bloody hard to play a game and talk at the same time ]

I'd certainly quite like to, as I'm more passionate about videogames than anything else (except perhaps fruit machine emulation). Online slots are a bit further down the list, to say the least..... (Especially since the modern ones seem more shit than what I was playing years ago. Whatever the massive appeal of Bonanza is, it's completely lost on me.)

I'll see how the views go for 'Consolation Prize', as my channel is ostensibly a fruit machine/fruit machine emulation/slots channel, and going off-topic in a major and sustained way might not go down too well. Then again, there's no monetisation/affiliation associated with the channel at all, and it's not like it does much in the way of views anyway, but I would feel slightly disingenuous switching tack completely given that folks do have a certain expectation as to what the content on the channel is likely to be.

I'd definitely like to do a proper review of Everybody's Golf, and do a video on the One X as well.

totally understand, and having come across a few of the fruit machine fans on another forum they're not the sort of people you cross lightly :eek2:, also it is a bit of a niche subject whereas there's tons of gaming channels on youtube already, and you're keeping the fruit machine history alive which I respect. BTW if you don't mind me asking how do you get 4 slot games on 1 screen as you did in the session of doom? [ loved the intro, getting into the tiger's cage etc... lol, a lot of funny stuff in that vid]

It's your channel, you can do what the hell you want with it :D;)

I think the balance is right anyway, and far better to just do slot sessions on the major releases, given the time allocated to making the videos. And as you say, in the intervening years of your slot hiatus the games have dipped noticeably :eek2:

You're not a streamer per se, so slot compilation highlights are fine too, and tell you pretty much everything one needs to know

Of course not everyone's gonna agree, some will want pure slotting mayhem 24/7, some more video games but there are many YouTubers that alternate media.

And much like you, video games/ computing will always be my first passion, slots are considerably down the list but manage to be the most time- consuming and expensive

So just keep doing what you're doing Chopley

Sorry @ChopleyIOM but I had to stop watching once you mentioned "that game." I'm trying to avoid all spoilers as I know come Christmas time that game will be on sale as the hype will have died down.

I think the whole discussion about value for entertainment even deserves it's own thread. I managed to get "The Last Of Us" for £9.99, yet in terms of online casinos they consider that too little an amount to even accept your money. That game was so good I felt it was priceless and it does make one think about the money you spend for entertainment vs gambling. I suppose with gambling you can actually make money and that's what makes it unique, but when you are an experienced player you know the writing is on the wall the moment you deposit and that voice in the back of your head telling you this is stupid...

Quiet looking forward to Resident Evil 2 Remake & Fallout 79. Those are probably the only games I will preorder this year as I was so disappointed with Cod WWII that it put me off preordering in general.
