So im due to get off at Kings Cross ... and was going to hop on the tube from what I can see its around a 2 mile hike by foot to Leicester Square ....

How bad do you think the cabs will be ? I may leave earlier to be sure and just get wrecked on my own at Waxys until the rest arrive

Have changed my ticket im in London at 12.50pm so plenty of time to get there. Anyone between Kings Cross and the venue who wants to meet up before hand just pm me

Really looking forward to this - finally my first Meister meet ( 8 years late )

I don't have to watch that to know what it is - London Underground to the Jam's 'Going Underground' was the first time I ever used Bluetooth phone-phone because a colleague had it on his phone at work about 12 years ago and I PMSL when I heard it...:eek:

I'm coming into Kings Cross/St Pancras too. As I said earlier in the thread the 73 and 390 buses go from stop R across the road from the Kings Cross station to Tottenham Court Road which isn't far to walk then. The other option is to get the overground from St Pancras to City Thameslink and then walk up through Covent Garden. I may take this option and call in at The Lowlander on Drury Lane which does good Belgian beers (but not cheap!)

Not sure how the full the buses and overground will be, but mid afternoon should be ok. I arrive at St P at 2:15.

There's still time for the strike to be called off as the smaller union not striking may have an affect and they're meeting again at ACAS tomorrow I think.

good info thanks  its around a 2 mile walk so I may well just take my time and drop into a few bars on the way if I cant get a cab or an Uber.

Eister meeting is what?

I have never been to a meister meeting but will be at the ICE show. What takes place at a Meister meeting?

Thanks,

Brian

Orgiastic sex, drunken brawling, gambling shouting and swearing. Best 3 hours of your life...:D ;)

Tube strikes allowing,.... Getting in that day from oop north, so as long as i MAKE it to hotel etc...

Im travelling from the bowels of Yorkshire , getting to London aint the problem (and they do have a bar in the virgin train )
but getting across London seems a nightmare. I have decided to walk the 2 miles or so. With at least 4 beer stops. I should be hanging
by the time I get to the venue

I Assume you are getting into Kings X.

Word on the streets is that the circle line will be working, so IF you are staying anywhere near tower bridge, walk/cab/uber to FArringdon, and get on a congested tube there

That is my back up plan atm.. (I get into St Pancras, so same same.. And yes.. there is a BAR on board mine too)

Great news for the Meistermeet, the unions have called off their proposed Tube Strikes next week. No need to move the venue!
