Hi all,

I'd played on NoIQ poker for quite awhile, and made many deposits and withdrawals with no problems.

When they announced they were leaving the iPoker network, I decided to withdraw my funds, on 2/24/09. Over the next month they kept refusing to
send my money, and made all sorts of weird threats about law
enforcement, and that I had "tempered with the game" or something. They
wanted scans of my ID, details about my computer and internet connection...
it was very frustrating and confusing. Finally they simply said my account
was closed, and I would not be getting my money (low 5-figures).

I found this site, and "pitched a bitch" on 3/27. Max emailed me
yesterday to say that he had contacted NoIQ, and they told him I would
be allowed to cash out. Shortly afterwards, NoIQ emailed me and said
their investigation with 'local law enforcement' had vindicated me, and
my account was to be reopened! And I was allowed to cash out, and
today confirmed that it went through.

Funny how suddenly they were able to decide to cash me out! What
a bunch of jerks that site turned out to be...i'm guessing they got a
rash of cashout requests when they left iPoker, and decided to just
try and screw over people and steal their money.

But the story sure ends well, for me anyways! Thanks to this site
and Max. What an incredible advocate for the player this site is!

Thanks again!

Cheers guys, nice of you to say so.

@joduri: thanks for posting, I'll mark your case resolved.

I'm sure they had quite a run on the bank when they left iPoker. This is the first complaint I've seen though. Glad to see it was resolved.

I guess I'll be the second. Joduri's story sounds pretty similar to mine.

I'm about to try and figure out the "pitch a bitch" process. Hopefully
noiq will decide not to steal my money.

I've also been taken by noiq. I filed a PAB, and Max is helping me
out.

noiq has at least re-opened communication with me. Today
they told me that they are "working on this with the Toronto police department to verify your details we will let you know as soon as we have reply from them."

Unbelievable.

Sorry to hear other people are having the same problem, but it makes
me feel a little better that it's not just me. :)

Toronto PD? That sounds like a veiled threat to me....or maybe I'm just paranoid.

Sounds like smoke and mirrors to me. Police departments in Ontario do not run criminal background checks for anything other than other law enforcement agencies or potential employers, and this requires a fee. Any organization employing people to work the the public can have a CPIC done, which includes ONLY violent crimes, or ones involving children, including arrest records that did not involve convictions. It is MANDATED for people working closely with children, but the candidate must apply for it. Bondable employers ask potential employees to sign a release for a criminal record check. Police departments do not verify addresses for private businesses without consent of the person being investigated, and most probably not even then.

There are other public records that may be searched, but it is not Toronto's police force doing so, or any other police agency in Ontario.

I agree - this is simply a rather immature ploy to scare the bejasus out of complainants (probably in the hope that he or she will just go away or, if a fraudster, will be scared off)

Sounds like a bunch of teenagers are managing this outfit.

Have you read the Pitch-A-Bitch FAQ? Even if you haven't -- and believe me, you should! -- I think I've mentioned that you are unwise to post the details of your case while your case is ongoing. As the FAQ details doing so can, and often does, severely damage your chances of getting a decent resolution to your case. And, my pet peeve here, is that it ends up wasting my time because there's me chasing a case that is totally uncontained because now it's being debated on the frickin' message boards! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

I'm not saying this because of NoIQ or for their benefit. It's a general thing that applies to all PABs. In other words ..
read the sodding FAQ!

Actually this may have a silver lining to it. In the future I think I'm going to send out little emails whenever I receive a PAB. That email will say "Thank you for your PAB .. have you read the FAQ?" If they answer no, then I'll politely ask that they do and get back to me. If they have, no probs, off we go. If they say they have and then openly violate the advice given there, rather like you have done here, then I'll write a wee note that says something like "For @#%$ Sakes, I thought you said you'd read the FAQ!!!" Oh goody, now we have a plan! ..

I was going to suggest we change your login name to "you-made-me-hoppinmad" but I figured that might be overkill. :D

Urp!

I'm sorry. I did read the FAQ, but wasn't thinking. My sense of helpless
frustration briefly overwhelmed me.

I'll gladly submit to any form of punishment you wish to dole out!

Sincerely sorry!

Why I outta .. don't sweat it, mistakes happen.

I'll let you know about your case once I sort out the latest from NoIQ.

I just wanted to point out that the OP - joduri - has donated $1000 of his winnings to one of the charities listed here at Casinomeister. $1000 went to the Alaskan chapter of the March of Dimes. Way to go.

Out of all of the PABs that have been processed over the years (believe me, there are a lot of them), this was the most generous donation made from someone who had received their winnings.

Now THAT is cool Bryan. That must make you feel like what you do is worthwhile?

WTG Joduri...I hope you'll stick around here.

EDIT: Funny, less than half an hour ago, I made a post in that "Playing at One of the Rogues" thread...about how in general, people (players) don't really care about anyone besides themselves. I guess this shows me the flipside of the coin, doesn't it? So thanks again Joduri, for showing us the "other" side.

WOW. The OP just renewed my faith in humanity. Maybe there's hope for us, afterall. This news made my day, put a smile on my face, and gave me a warm fuzzy feeling all over.

If you can divulge the information, how much was the total amount owed to joduri?

Maybe you should get in touch with joduri and see if he would be up for his story to get national attention? Not for anyone's personal agenda, but something like this is definitely newsworthy, and would be a great story to help the fight against the UIGEA; simply because it shows that people that gamble online DO HAVE A HEART and are COMPASSIONATE about others. Even though he's from Mexico and has no vested interest in the UIGEA, I think that his location is totally irrelevant.

My story sounds similar to OP. I've submitted a PAB, but after banging
my head against the noiq-wall for months now, I'm somewhat
pessimistic.

Maybe making a pledge like joduri will give me some good karma,
so here goes: if I end up getting my money back from them, i'll
donate $800.

I have a problem (not noiq) the relevant rep is helping me out atm, but if it all fails and I have to PAB I will willingly donate $1000 of my winnings too... Just hope it doesn't come to that...
