What is a Casinomeister Review?

This is a topic people often bring up, not just for CM's reviews but the industry's at large. So we want to shed some more light on the subject insofar as it concerns our reviews and our approach to them.

The primary purpose of a casino Review at Casinomeister is to inform and advise our readers on sites where they might choose to play. The Reviews are written by Casinomeister staff – and a few carefully selected freelancers – while the Ratings are all done in-house by our casino specialists. The point is to be objective and relatively thorough in our assessment of the site in question.

Who writes the Review and assigns a Rating?

The Content team uses a fixed structure to deliver the key casino information – a peek at the Welcome Page, Bonuses & Promotions, Banking options, etc – and I add a Max’s Desk section to give a little perspective from the Forum and Complaints side of things.
With all the basic casino data in hand a Rating is determined based on, again, a pre-defined set of criteria. We look at:
  • The jurisdiction a casino operates under
  • How far the withdrawal limits go
  • How quickly it pays out
  • How it handles complaints when things go wrong
  • How responsive (and genuinely helpful) its customer support is
Each category is scored from one to five, and the final rating is the average of these scores.

What you need to know about our Reviews and Ratings

The key points are:
  • We always write reviews based on our own research. We never rely on competitors' data, regardless of how credible they say they are.
  • We never let casinos have a say in our reviews. What you read is 100% our own work, despite a review sometimes being commissioned by a casino.
  • We base our casino rating on the information we have at the time of writing.
  • We never sell ratings. If a casino wants to see its rating go up, it has to genuinely do better.

How and When are Reviews and Ratings updated?

  • We update reviews and ratings periodically, based on two factors. Either something really major has happened with a casino (change of ownership, for example), or it's just time for our scheduled update.
  • We take player feedback from the Forums and Complaints seriously, so a trail of complaints triggers a fresh look.
  • We aim to keep reviews and ratings fresh, but we're not a massive operation behind the scenes, so updates can't happen overnight.

Reviews & Ratings: Q&A

Q: One of your reviews is out of date, when will you fix it?
A: Let us know the details, we’ll add it to the queue and get to it when we can.
Sneak Peek: new features for providing update info and requests are coming soon to Casinomeister.

Q: I read your Review of Casino X and played there because of it. I was not satisfied and want my money back.
A: Our Review is not a guarantee that you’ll love what you see. As with any product review we’re trying to help you make an informed choice. In the end though the choice, and responsibility, is yours.
