I'm not as frequent a DOA player as those who have commented in the last couple of pages but I will give my thoughts....

On the VERY RARE occasions I have bet MORE than 36p a spin (ie I have to go to a minimum denom of 2p), I have got absolutely CRUSHED every single time. The scarcity of bonus rounds and base game 5OAKs (glasses or better) on each and every occasion was just...well, "frightening".

I didn't even need to go as high as 90p, because 45p, 54p and 72p were all doing plenty of damage to me already.

It's got to the point for me where it's going to take a special set of circumstances for me to ever find myself betting any higher than 36p a spin on DOA again. Because in my own mind, I think betting any higher than that is just asking for trouble.

It is indeed a beast on high bets.

I won $1,000+ 3 times in the past 2 days with 0.45 - 1.80 bets, yet yesterday at Bet-AT 2K lost with 3.60-9$ bets and today at Slotty 3K lost with 4.50 - 9.00$ bets. And always the same pattern, hundreds and hundreds of spins not even a 5OAK K's or A's, then finally free spins (longest i waited was 1096 spins) and it pays 10-20x bet. After some 2K in losses i get then maybe a 5-600$ payout and that disappears in no time with any further bonus rounds.

I'll be damned that every time i try high bets the slot is not giving anything at all, yet on small bets i can play for hours on a 100$ deposit.

Sigh, I've been playing this game almost exclusively for the last couple of months due to that modest wildline I got. Needless to say it's been a shitstorm of disapointment since. So many near misses it's untrue.

The game is expert at taking you from 0 - 60 in mere seconds, like some gimped up sportscar. Then it likes to take you right back from 60 - 0 like an Irish sports car.

This game is not ideal at all for incremental betting like many other slots, so building up your balance and gradually upping bets nearly always ends in disaster. And it has happened many times.......best bet is to hope for a wonder hit on a decent bet size with a decent starting bankroll. And pray fastidiously!

It is rather the pure lack of entertainment when playing with high bets then the loss of money that really makes me mad. Of course the money matters too, but i won AUD 12K this month from Energy, Slotty, Videoslots and would you believe it 32RED (i did not reverse... twice!!! ).

Hence, as usual i put a chunk aside and with the reminder i took up the challenge once again to try DOA on high bets. But as the other 18 times i tried this before (with one exception last August at Redbet - [email protected]) i failed sooooo miserably again. - another 250 spins at 0.90 - balance ended at 134$ as i found out this morning (fell asleep )


- not once did i get 1500 spins with 1000$ on 4.50 and 9.00 bets in the past 3 days, never made it past the 500 mark, let alone 1500

4 days of medium to highrolling I have not seen 5OAK Hats or Sheriff Stars.

Currently grinding through the 50% match bonus at CL i managed 1500 in wagers with 0.45-1.80 bets. Then a sudden drop to the last 5 bucks.

Fed-up and not wanting to deposit any further i go to the 0.01 denomination at 0.18$ (which i have not touched, nor the 0.02 cent in the past days). Within 30 spins i get 1 x 5OAK Hats, 1 x 5OAK Sheriff Stars, 2 x 4OAK Glasses and 1 x 4OAK Boots.

DOA can certainly give you the creeps. Some 8.000$ in deposits and played on medium to high bets won't give you a decent 5OAK, yet 30 spins on bloody cents can give 2!!!

After a 4 day DOA slaughtering with medium-high bets and nearly depleting my winnings from last week (apart from the chunk i set aside, which i will not touch) i came down to earth and went back to 50$ deposits 0.27-0.54 bets. Lost that after nearly 3 hours (4 strong 5OAK's Boots and higher, a few bonus rounds) and made a second deposit of 30$, now staying firm on 0.45$ bets, which with 30$ is normally insane. But never busted.

First bonus round with the second deposit - 90 x bet, some spins later bonus round again .....TRATRA - WILD LINE on 0.45$ . Only gave it on the very last spin of the 5 extra spins but still payout 320$ or 800xbet

Completely unnerved i forgot to take the screenie but will happily ask support at CL if somebody wants to see it!

What do you know, after getting a nice 100% match from Kenny with a 25xWR for the losses in the days earlier i deposited 100, total 200 to play. Lost it pretty quickly down to the last 5$ (had about 16% wagered at this time).

As usual, bet to 0.01 denomination at 0.18 and worked it up again to 20$. Why i can do that every time remains a mystery to me Decided to stick again to 0.45 bets and started 500 spins, balance went down and up between 7$ and 50$, but never busted. On spin 449 guess what is dropping in...... 5 x SCATTER

It is not only this slot that does it. I found the same with Book of Ra. When playing at £0.10 a spin you get more bonus rounds opposed to playing at £1 a spin.

Perhaps it is coincidence? Who knows and perhaps best we don't because else we may all stop playing them.

How often playing DOA on 4 different windows with 4 different bet from 0.09 to 0.90 and i always get best result with the lower bets. I already post a thread about RTP vs wager size but this does not make sense, the higher you bet, the higher the payout, in DOA cases it seems the opposite. The conspiracy theorist in me would say, the game take your money when you bet big to give it back when you bet low.... after all when you get 200-300$ payout on a 0.09c bet, that money has to come from someone, maybe most of it comes from peoples playing a .90 or higher. Just a theory.

Doing a "Rolastan"

Today i decided to do it the "rolastan' way and been playing for 4.5hrs on 2 casinos: Bet-AT and Slotty, 0.36 -0.72 bets.

- Lost pretty quickly

Experiment after 6 hours failed badly!!!

Funny, that both balances were at "0" within 30 seconds of each other.

Won't do this again, the whistling in my ears won't go away And it get's pretty boring, i cooked in between, had lunch, picked-up my laundry from the delivery lady, cleaned my room, 3 phone calls, 6 emails and all the time the sound in the background. Grueling to be honest.

At the end the one on Bet-At where i had the higher balance in the previous post went over 1100 spins without a bonus round

Me and the wife have done the 'Play DOA at more than one casino at the same time' experiment a few times.

Mixed results but surprisingly more good than bad!

We only ever do it at ultimate low rolling (0.09p) but results showed a definate increase in bonus rounds (even if they were all rubbish)

Its been a couple of months now since we last made the effort (nothing to do with losing just CBA) but IIRC it was Christmas day when the Caddell Group of casinos sent out £5NDB for each and every account we have (6-7 in total between us) and we set these off on auto so I could prepare dinner/entertain kids etc and I think after 2 hours amazingly only one or two had 'busted' and the rest still going strong!

I think you and Harry here have confirmed a theory I have. Call it a conspiracy theory if you like but there are simply days where no wild line will materialise for any player, anywhere.


The only way I can describe this is as working like a compensated game and that it goes through periods whereby it wins lots, wins little or comes close but no dice.

The amount of times I've experienced this and had that reinforced by posts here means than I still doubt the entire random nature of the game.

Doesn't matter though, still love it!

If no wildline will appear on any given day then it must surely be because not enough spins have been cycled through.

I suspect that actually DOA has such cult status that a LOT of people are playing at any given time and the majority of those are not talking about their wildlines on CM.

But if the estimates for wildlines (1 in every 150 bonus rounds) are there or there abouts.....why don't a bunch of you co-ordinate a session and put it to the test? 10 players doing 2.5k spins seems very doable. I don't even play DOA but would definitely get involved.

Second time i hit something big on DOA with some measly FS winnings:

1. Guts - 7.64 FS winnings, 25 spins @ 0.09, started another 25 spins and on spin 29 it gave 5OAK Sheriff Stars, up the bet immediately to 0.18 - within 10 spin = 5 x scatter - $450 plus a few bucks from the free spins
2. Videoslots - 13.29 FS winnings - story above, difference is that it took roughly 160 spins to get it

Just withdrew $540 from VS, early morning in their time zone and they paid in 15 mins. Really impressed by these guys.
