Who's The Bride (Dead Or Alive) - Who's the robbing bandit, more like

You're trying to compare apples with oranges though. I mean, I paid my car insurance for the year last week which was around £800. Then on Saturday me and Mrs Lemon went out for the day shopping and had a tasting-menu dinner - this all came to another £800.

Fuck me, what a waste of money the car insurance was. I mean you don't even get anything tangible for it do you? Just a bit of paper in the post if that...

I'm comparing discretionary entertainment spend with discretionary entertainment spend, sounds pretty apples to apples to me.

I've made my choices.

So here's a thing, I've been playing through Assassin's Creed Shadows, here's my current playtime in the game, 37 hours.

Note this isn't me having finished the game, I'm only about a third of the way through the main campaign, I've been spending loads and loads of time on the side content which I'm finding really fun and engaging.

I paid the princely sum of £39 for the game, a key for the PC version that activates through Ubisoft Connect.

Last night I deposited £105 at VS and Who's The Bride took the lot off me, on fucking 18p spins, in two hours and twenty minutes. Never once was I in profit by so much as a single penny. The whole experience was desperately miserable from start to finish.

You see my point.

This isn't a money thing, insofar as I can easily afford gambling like this, but the sheer fucking waste of money that it represents really, really rankles with me when online slots pull bollocks like this.

Assassin's Creed Shadows looks like this. This isn't a static image, it's a screenshot of realtime rendering from within the game:

That’s why, as you know, skanky ultra HV slots largely suck. Yes, you can hit pay dirt if you are exceptionally lucky but you are getting next to no entertainment out of it. In theory you should be paying ~£18 @ 18p/spin over around 2000 spins, and that’s at 95% RTP.
That’s if the slot, and there are now many, wasn’t such an UHV POS, you’d undoubtedly get more bang for your bucks (£18 for 2hrs 20mins would be pretty good really), but as you say, this isn’t one of those slots.
I generally just can’t get too heavily into these sorts of slots for the exact reason that I pretty much have to write off my money 95% of the time before I even start, knowing I’ll likely not see any sort of significant win. I may give them a few lotto type efforts if I happen to be up from some slots which are not quite such money suckers.

Dear NetEnt,

Please stop giving all my money to Kroffe.

Best regards,

Chopley.

PLACE YOUR BETS - Will this deposit be a wildline/five scatters?

I completely forgot that I tried this again last week, £110 deposit on this occasion.

It went as well as any of us are expecting at this point.

I'm going to have another punt at it this evening, so I'll report back on that in due course.

And that's another £125 flushed down the drain on 18p spins.

Still no wildline.

Still no five scatters.

They should have called this the 84% RTP game unless you get one of two very specific, and equally rare events, to occur.

As you can see, every single session I've had on this game has been shit and a loser. The only variables are how shit, and how quickly I've lost.

But you knew this……..

Yes I know, I just dared to think that this time would be different.

Anyway it can fuck off for a bit now as I've ordered a new graphics card costing £740 which sounds like a lot for a graphics card until you realise that's LESS than I've spunked up the wall chasing a fucking wildline or fucking five fucking scatters on Who's The Fucking Twat (spoiler alert - it's me!).

As for online slotting, I'll just stick to 3Dice for a bit, this always happens when I dare to stray from the path of righteousness, I get my arse handed to me on a fucking plate.

Look, even when shopping for PC components I'm not safe.

Get on slots temple and play doa on 98.08%

Im surprised Dazza hasn’t been over there wanking himself to death over twin spin on 99%!!!!

Slots Temple doesn't seem to like my IOM IP address, I registered there a couple of weeks ago but it won't let me deposit and even when I try to open games in demo mode they just fail.

Thinking about it why even let someone go through all the faff of registering an account if literally nothing will work once you have, and they already know they don't like you from your IP address. Still, whatever.

You forgot to mention the 5-scatters for 2,500x bet, another RTP-hungry aspect of the game. I had that once, never the Wildline nor IIRC even the +5 spins sans Wildline.
I have hit the dream, on a £10 deposit years ago on Will Hill, 5 scatter trigger AND a wild line. Paid just short of £650 on a 9p spin.

Awesome

Wife did similar a few years back, although IIIRC, total was nearer £500ish. Still very nice

Assuming there's no sort of control in the free spins round, it would theoretically be possible to hit five wilds on the first spin on a winline, get the retrigger and then have 16 spins with a five wilds winline.

I've had four wilds on a winline in the basegame, so it does feel possible.

I'm wondering what the biggest win it's ever done as a multiplication of stake actually is.

Your example there is around 7200x.

Played WTB clone (DoA) since launch and it is also my 'go to' game so you can imagine the amount of bonuses I've had over the years.

Never once had all 5 drop, not even scattered never mind on a win line in a single spin.

Best I recall is 4 wilds in one spin ONCE, earliest I've secured the extra 5 spins is after 3 spins with 9 of the original trigger remaining and even then, they were all over the place and the remainder only saw a couple more wilds drop and no wild line.

Highest pay I've had (when it was, I cannot recall) is a double wild line on 0.09p bets for just shy of £620.

The good old DOA... Prior to flash. This was the easiest version to hit a wild line on...

Lost count of the amount of wild lines i got. My record wasn't by multiplier, but by total win... Somewhere in the region of 50k twice on 18eur spins.

I later became more of a DOA 2 player .. record hit of 60kx and second highest at 37kx. Notable mentions of 26kx amongst others.

Who's The Fucking Twat (spoiler alert - it's me!).
LMAO the solidarity I feel with you on this. I've never even gotten to know these women as my people have no reasonable access to this game, but I've felt the same many a time. Isn't it fun how we develop actual rivalries with a slot? They're sentient, I swear.

And if I could still be on 3Dice I would be, I'm really happy to see that they're still going strong. I hope it hasn't completely lost its Windows XP vibe. Tis a beautiful thing.

That DOA II hit is *beautiful* @brianmon. I somehow managed to get a wildline within my first few hundred spins on that game, so it's entered my pantheon of Games I've Beaten™ and I will not give it a chance to mar that. But all these years gambling I've yet to hit anything that big multiplier wise.

Vaguelly remember you getting the second £18 wildline a few days after the first at Redbet. The orginal version had a curious tell - or at least seemed to - where the wins would would come in bigger and longer “waves” - and rasing your stake didn’t seem to affect them, just before the wildline. I never had the bottle to take it above £3.60 as was a minimum stakes player at the time and caught the tail end of that version before it all go re-coded.

They are!! So make sure you don’t give any of their other mid range RTP filth a single coin.

Boo! And there was me hoping there was a top-RTP site going under the radar that (a) I didn't know about and (b) I could sign up to and play at.

Netent, NLC, MG... All at full RTP. Play and Go is the 94% variant. @L&L-Jan can correct me if I'm mistaken...

Nate
yeah the content you play is, but recent titles are at 94 too.

Cockbags!

This is only my second retrigger so far, and once again the wildline eluded me.

I think it'd actually feel worse to get the retrigger and then get the wildline on the last spin of the retrigger, so in a way I'm almost glad it didn't drop in right at the end.

Bloody hell, thought you had only threw 850ish at it.

Alas there had been a slightly disagreeable amount of doing one's plums in it before the wildline finally decided to make an appearance, but at least it (they!) did so in style!

I'm ecstatic that you finally got it, Chopley! I was beginning to think that you maybe were just born to be in the far left end of WTB's bell curve, but look at you with a 96% RTP now! Best use of the British pound sterling for sure.

Played this game for over 4 years and no 5 scatters, no wild line (let alone a double) but here is the spawn after 3 months of playing... Of course.

In fairness I played DoA a good amount back in the day and never hit a damn sausage on it (it was often part of my late night quad-slot play rotation at Redbet), and I've properly been lumping away at WTB, my numbers were so bad on it that even with that hit I'm still down on it!

I went back to check on my The Final Countdown win as I knew that was somewhere up in this region as a multiplication of stake, but upon checking, in those terms it was actually bit smaller.

That finished at 5698x stake and was my biggest ever online win as a stake multiplier at that time, and has remained so until the other night when WTB did 5959x.

So well done WTB, I suspect I'll never play it again though. I've had another deposit at VS since but stuck to Twin Happiness (full RTP Twin Spin clone) and currently lumping away at Multi Wild.

TBH I think myself very lucky that WTB gave me the 'off ramp' opportunity that it did, and on balance I think I'll take it.

Here's where the 5698x ended up on The Final Countdown, the cash amount is bigger as it was on a 40p spin.
