Icons, heroes and National treasures. They are all subjective and some can be very personal to you. Here I introduce just two. Alan Turning fits all of the above and Chris Packham is surely a contender too.
On a personal level I would include one of my sisters who has stoically fought illness with such bravery.

Do you have anyone who deserves adding to the list?

most of our Canadian talent tends to jump ship to the US :P
But I'll share a personal hero story.

My aunt all her life has had hair down past her ass. When my mother got cancer and had to go through chemo, my aunt shaved her head so my mom didnt have to experience it alone or feel embarassed (this usually makes me cry)

I think many have our own personal heroes and its lovely to learn about them :)

I personally believe that success comes thru a consistent increase in the quality of my life , in virtually every area of my life - from spiritual life , emotional life or physical life or mental life , my relationships . so I do try every day to be a better mother, better friend , better colleague . every day a little better version of me and all the rest will follow.
and in order to do all that I have many-many role models that I've been following, read, watch that shaped who I am today and who I will be tomrrow from Rocky Balboa to Dalai Lama, from Alexander the Great to Michelle Obama and the list goes on and on.

Charlie Chaplin's final speech in the film the great dictator
